  1. Exactly why I sold off most of mine, and my girl 86'ed one of hers as well. All I've got now is one 16610, one Lunette Verte, 1 SMP chrono, & 1 Daytona. She's got one Datejust and an old Patek that never gets worn. Probably sell that one too.
  2. Yeah; almost as good as the return rate of your signature.
  3. Still wish it was on the other side of the state.
  4. You'll want mutual funds, not individual stocks. The Asian market is performing phenomenally, particularly China & S Korea (steer away from Japan). I had a Korean mutual that earned almost 26% the first quarter of '06. Pay close attention to "Emerging Market" & "International market" mutuals--recently they've been averaging a 10-14% annual return for most (some as high as 40+%!), while the rule of thumb for a "good average" investment is only 8%. You can acquire some very good ones, via Fidelity; call them and get them to send you some prospectuses. You can check out Vanguard, Puritan, etc. Try to keep them spread out between a blend of Small, Mid-cap & Large growth funds (both Domestic & International) don't sink it all into one, regardless of how good the predicted rate of return is--high risk usually doesn't pay off. From personal experience I'll say Fidelity's "in-house" mutuals are also extremely well put together. It's who I use for the majority of my portfolio's holdings. Check out a few: http://personal.fidelity.com/products/fund...erly.shtml.cvsr Edit: (on the left, click "Browse Fidelity Mutual Funds", then click "Internation/Global"--some of them are doing better than expected a year ago--fantastic rate of return on most of those! ) Also, if your work offers a 401K by all means, take it (how can you beat matching funds?--it's free $$$!); if they don't, try a Roth IRA. Don't let anyone talk you into buying CDs or bonds; it's [censored], as far as smart planning goes--this is not the proper market for it. Plus their rate of return is so low, you could earn just as much interest in an ING savings account, and still be able to touch your money without penalty, so there's no point in buying them. And don't get concerned about liquidity--think only in the long-term. True, healthy & intelligent investing is nothing more than a waiting game; start off easy and just build on your investments via a little homework & a bit of (but not too risky) experimentation. Annuities are also good too; go with a variable rate annuity over a fixed one at this point--the way things are going, it'll probably pay off better in the long run. Hope that helped.
  5. Does it come with a brushed steel band? I almost bought the gen in that.
  6. Have a new SMP chrono which seems to stop (seconds subdial, minute & hour hand) every 2 or 3 hours; rotor spins freely and it's fully wound & keeping good time, when it keeps it. When attempting to wind the watch manually via the corwn, if the watch is laying flat, the rotor spins with every wind. Oddly, the watch will start again if the chrono is activated, but regardless of whether or not you let the chrono run or stop, the whole watch stops again about 2 hours later. Any thoughts? Simple fix? Thanks
  7. http://www.bostonwatchexchange.com/servlet...Items+for+Rolex I used to buy caseback stickers (and that's about it) when their website didn't offer much else. Great customer service, and always at my door in 3-4 days. Check 'em out.
  8. Yes. They're getting surprisingly close to the gens. After fitting & link removal, my gen Sub was 142 grams; rep 135. Gen SMP chrono 228 grams; rep 210. Thanks for getting bored though -- I had wondered about some of those.
  9. Hmmm...the bracelet on this one looks to be the same thickness as my gen.
  10. Mine's gen too--love to do a side by side w a rep, just waiting to get some Cannon batteries...
  11. Fantastic. Thank you. I take it this isn't like an ETA, where if you push the release too hard it screws up the keyless works?
  12. Nice! Just top light it, and you'll enhance the raised pattern twice as much:
  13. I've never taken a chrono out of the case before & need a little help. What position does the crown need to be in exactly, to remove the movement from the case (if memory serves, it's not all the way out--to activate the hacking--like it is to remove a 2836)? And is there anything special that needs to be done to detach the movement from the chrono-pushers? The reason I ask is would like to plan ahead to eventually attempt a super-lume on my SMP with the C3 that Leverton is selling. Thanks in advance, Todd
  14. Lol--I'd like to see what gets offered up as well. How about a clause to that rule--90 days non-payment equals total forfeiture, but @ 60 days non-payment (without any deposit yet at all), other members can choose to get first dibs on what's there. Got any newly serviced, secs @ 6, 7750's?
  15. Were/are there any rep bracelets for the SMP chrono that use pins instead of screws? Or is there a way to modify the current bracelet to accept pins.? When I removed my bracelet from the rep case, I see two sets of lug holes drilled on either side (I don't know if the gen has this as well, as I'm afraid to remove them, for fear of scratching)--does anyone know if you can put a gen bracelet on the rep case?
  16. [censored] Texas. Let me know when you're in Otown; I'll try to hook you up with a good rate at the World Marriott or Westin Grand Bohemian. And definitely some damn good restaurants.
  17. Live in Tampa; but don't want to go any further east than Orlando, and no further south that Sarasota. Sorry, but in outside sales I can't stand to drive any more than I absolutely have to.
  18. "None of the posts have detailed answers?"... This has been answered multiple times, daily, in detail, ad naseum. Try the search function. Here's yet another repost: Maybe I should make this my signature...
