  1. It's not my cup of tea. But as JKay said, it's not impossible to make a one of a kind, yourself. That would be so much better than this silly 'fragment' thing. A great idea for all modders with PVD/DLC service, buy a couple of gen Rolex's, create a fancy name and logo, do your PVD thingy and sell them on for ridiculous amounts... (15% royalty to me for the idea)
  2. I can't understand how my ancestors could be so stupid ... wandering up north to freezing winters and rainy summers...
  3. Welcome! You've found the perfect place if you want to learn more about replicas, fascinating things. I recommend you start by reading this fantastic introduction. So what are you considering as a first rep? Any ideas?
  4. And google translate gives us:
  5. Many thanks! To me it feels good, knowing what I own! That "Chinese Watch Industry wiki" has much information, need to read a few articles. Thanks once again- /Furu
  6. Knew this day would come... Today i decided to disassemble one of my watches, just for the fun of it Bought Offshore's tool-kit last month, highly recommended! Inspecting the Chinese movement i noticed that it had a logo (right where you would expect a ETA logo on a ETA movement) , I thought all the low end movements were no-name products. Does anyone recognize the logo? I did my best to recreate it. (Below) The dissection: The tweezers (one shown in the picture) are superb, swiss made. Never thought i would compliment the quality of a tweezer, but these are awesome. Also a bit surprised i noticed that the crown is indeed a triplock construction, cheap rep. The movement logo (as i remind it): Any ideas? /Furu And yes, the watch is reassembled and fully functional
  7. Welcome, you will find Panerai's in excess
  8. I bought a good printer, photo paper and loads of empty cases. There are many websites that provide DVD-covers. And I've got a Light-Scribe burner for those creative days! The results are very nice, haven't done many at all. But the printer has other uses
  9. Just realized what a huge price difference there is in this model, if we're talking good condition GTS, GT or S4, the prices I laughed at in above post are not valid. But there is a nice black '92 GTS with 144k km for about 19 900
  10. Saw a creepy documentary/series about exotic snakes exported from Thailand, by mail. And as all of you know, the deliverance times are not always great, so many snakes did arrive in a 'not so mint' condition.
  11. I'll keep my fingers crossed as we wait!
  12. Wow, just amazing work The Zigmeister! I haven't seen it before, the lume really makes the watch!
  13. Automatic is always okay in GT's. I guess now is the right time to buy a 928, they'll probably never be as cheap again. The problem is to get all the spec's you want, and then the right color AND in good condition. Take your time and search the field and eventually you'll find yourself a dream car at the price of a rusty Corolla! This might sound crazy, but given the space, buy two! If the spare parts for old Porsche's is anything like the Mercedes parts, you will be happy to have the complete assortment ready. Good hunting!
  14. The (indestructible) Expendables? Deep plot warning!
  15. Blue SOSF for me too! Using one of the sales pics from Speedman. If anyone can give me some info on this watch (version, manufacturing year and so), PM me It has been to Vac for lume and servicing for the ETA 2824-2, and has a genuine strap!
  16. We live in exciting times my friends! But I think all this causes a stress on the younger generations, since everything has such a high tempo. And the evolution of China is crazy, they'll soon be producing more reps than there are Westerners.
  17. I've seen this one before, but had to look at it once more! Explains the basics very well. WATCH! (Accidental joke)

    My first rep

Nice choice of first rep. Have to get me one of these soon, can't find words good enough to describe the design of these beauties! Wear it well!! And indeed the pearl looks really good. /Furu
  19. Thanks! I've been looking for what was going on before this forum! Found a few answers and good info!
  20. Totally understated car. The Mercedes equivalent W126 560SEC is also IMO a timeless car with superior build quality. But the low prices kill these good cars, many people who can't afford them drive them until the cars are done. Good for me that my dad has got one 560' in really great condition. I really love the late 90's german touring/sports cars, best era! Pic from the web, this one has rare Lorinser wheels (i have 12 of those in my garage ).
  21. Like this one too, very nice combinations of colors! I have no clue what Bal Harbour is, but it looks good on the strap! But I'm as pessimistic as Toad, the see-through dial is going to cause some problems.
  22. Welcome, many new swedes at the moment! This is a great forum! /Furu
