  1. I have one from River also...it looks nice but I only want the movement for another project. How do you open the case back? Is it screw-type? TIA bosk
  2. the bullet thing provides the spark. BTW, once u open the lighter, the gas valve opens...gas comes out but will not ignite until u provide a spark. Don't leave your lighter open. -bosk
  3. remove old lume and apply another film. since pam hands have such big openings...u may have to experiment with lume consistency. hope that helps....I relume a pair but ended up buying davidsen's hands too. I scratched the black paint off in too many spots (was not careful). -bosk
  4. I purchased Paul's FA skeleton. He advestised sapphire on the website and it does indeed seem sapphire (water bead test). Looking at Paul's price in comparison to Josh's, it does seem higher quality due to Paul's pricing scheme. Paul marks it as 44 mm while the other dealers are 42 mm. -bosk
  5. I remember reading about some1 applying glue to the stem of the subdial hand to help keep it on....or maybe it was only in the case of a asian to ETA movement change.
  6. hey Chris, Please share any enlightment u've gainined on the chrono hand installation. That's the hardest part in working with 7750's, IMO. Are u applying any glue to the subdials? thanks bosk
  7. Here are a few photos of my superlumed PO with a dupont 007 lighter...now I need the 007 dupont pen! thanks for looking -bosk
  8. email sent Neil, I'll be in for a AP ROO chronograph. BTW...i thought george was charging 450 euros which comes to 650 US bucks this would be an awesome deal then thanks bosk
  9. That looks awesome. I hate putting on subdial hands! Thats one of the toughest things to do when putting your watch back together unless I'm missing some trick. -bosk
  10. I have about 10 replica lighters. I once bot the dupont refills but they are expensive. Then I purchased a rbrass efill adapter from Ebay which only fit some ofthe L2 lighters (all my lighters are L2). Best solution is to go to a smoke shop and get a big refill butane can (Purilite) with plastic nozzle adapters (adapter 2 fits dupont lighters). This option works on all my lighters. Rei
  11. Holy Crap that is a nice watch! A must see movie. Tourbies can run over 100K easy. A new holy grail perhaps? -Rei
  12. Ditto, I'd rather get a gen too. The AP still has too many flaws....date mag is not perfect, subdial placement, and afew minor issues with the dial. Still, its a beautiful watch and I'd love to have it in my rep collection if the price were right. The asain movement should cost a few hundred less (maybe 3). It seems Josh's pricing is consistent with George's over at TRC. -bosk
  13. Josh's site is previewing an AP with an actual date mag! Is that the MWB version? It looks a little different from George's pics. Has any1 bothered to buy the other AP's that we've been bombarded with....the one with no date mag?
  14. On the SS bracelet, are the pins super tight? I have not been able to remove a single pin yet
  15. if its stripped, just push with a sharp object on the threaded end and turn the screw while doing so to get it out. River's springbar will be a lifesaver afterwards.
  16. Hopefully our recent group buy will all have the correct date font Can any1 confirm this? thanks bosk

    !

I wear mine alot and I just ordered the superlume kit from LWA over on the darkside. It will look great with superlumed hands I'm trying to find a SS bracelet that will fit. I took off the SS from my UTC IWC but there is a small gap between bracelet and case -bosk
  18. Bump....I'm looking for an answer as well. I've read C3 and other posts refer to C5.
  19. Side of the bezel should be textured in a criss-cross tire pattern. Still an awesome watch. Y don't they make 3, 6, 9 subdial of the AP if they can make this hublot look so good? I'm interested in the HUBLOT.
  20. I agree, River's spring bars are in all my PAMs. Fake screw notch makes it almost impossible to tell them apart from real screws.
  21. Finally picked up my watch at the postoffice from EL. Beautiful watch....no dial chips....slightly misaligned dial (less than 1mm), weak lume, small dust speck on the dial....clasp seems to be working fine. thanks EL and Richard!
  22. PT confirmed its the same size as the gen I'll be down for one... hopefully the cyclops will be decent.
  23. what's the best method for reducing the size of the dial? File or cut? TIA
  24. Here are picks of the gen on ebay : http://cgi.ebay.com/IWC-Schaffhausen-Chron...1QQcmdZViewItem The gen spitfire's sub hands are silver along with other hands, i think.
  25. It looks almost dead on. I'm probably going to get the spitfire version since the hands have more area to re-lume. They are also on Paul's website (notyet priced) as well as trusty's.
