I totally agree. Unless the sellers are expecting offers. I've seen several that were above some of the lowest dealer's prices.

LWA use to sell them over at RWI....if there is enuf interest u might convince him to sell it again. I agree that Notiluma is crap. SL all the way.... I hear of moders adding notiluma to their custom mixes tho....I see no advantage except cutting their costs. -bosk

beautiful watch! A close to flawless rep. Why the hell did Omega place the He valve directly off the 10 marker but skews all the other He valves in the gen?
-
My DSN 111H case will not fit my PAM bracelet from silix. Good luck with the mod. -bosk

A few more pics to see if you guys can ID the case. There is an o-ring in the bezel and bezel spring is flat. Other than the lume marker falling off at 7:00 and the He valve, the watch feels nice...better than my other two subs. -bosk

What versions of the SD have this He valve (spiral engraving)? I don't see it on any of the pics of the dealers. Can any1 identify the case (MBW, CN, TW best)? It looks nothing like the gen. How about the crown guards? needs a little touch up? TIA bosk

Hi, Superb project! What was the dial size? I was unaware that TW cases could fit gen dials. My CN case is definitely uses a larger dial than gen. thanks bosk

Seamaster black (ETA 2824) from Paul....thoughts?
bosk replied to UglyStick's topic in The Omega Area
King has a decent version with a black date wheel. I suggest getting the ETA version...then u can swap gen dials and hands in the future. The gen dials and hands have awesome lume. -
This one seems interesting http://www.ioffer.com/i/24265487 Some dealers on ioffer are honest and some have fake pics.
-
Dial size is probably a bigger issue. I think the gen dial sizes are smaller than the reps...and only a MBW accepts the smaller dial sizes. -bosk
-
That AP jumbo is supposedly still in production by MBW. We could ask TTK to arrange a group buy maybe? I'd love one and missed all previous opportunities to get that lovely watch. I was always on the fence due to the gold screws. -bosk
-
I'd like one as well...possibly on ioffer or silixwatch? TIA bosk
-
The He Valve is too low on Paul's version...it is almost directly off the 10 marker....not offset like the 2004 version/gen. Because of the light blue dial, u can really see the difference if a gen is compared next to it but it is super easy to stick in a gen dial and gen hands. -bosk

Super review. I'm hoping TTK restocks his MBWs. I'm deciding about this one or a DRSD. -bosk

i want a AP royal oak chronochraph : 25979 (City of Sails "Alinghi") with a 7753 movement. 40mm and 112 grams No date window issues....it should be a generic rep. hxxp://www.kronosclub.com/ROC/mainX.asp?mnuNum=25979

I'd be very interested to see the lume pics too. I tried luming mine with C1 but I will never be able to get it like the gen where the small numbered text next to the markers, 15, 30, 45, and 60 are also lumed Here is a pic of the gen lume:

Which dial is correct for a no holes 16610? Thanks.
bosk replied to Justasgood's topic in The Rolex Area
Hey Kurt, What is the dial diameter on those? Is it close to impossible fitting gen rolex dials in reps (only with a MBW case perhaps)? I noticed most gen dials are 27mm. Typical rep dials are above 28mm i think. TIA bosk -
My 111H DS dial appears really yellowish...sort of like a vintage lume color....This is the incorrect lume color too? The hands are off white but the numbers/markers appear yellow to me. Both glow really well tho. The gen pics posted by flav new gen shows the hands and markers about the same color. -Bosk

Since the movement is from an IWC skeleton, the hour wheel must have some modification to be attached. I have no idea how they did it but it is securely on. Tourbillion would probably know since he works with these movements on a regular basis. One of the gears that the crown tube goes thru did drop out when I turned the watch upside down and its secure once the tube is inserted. The watch seems to be working perfectly now. -bosk
-
After seeing Tourby's PAM skeletons, I decided to try it myself with some spare parts. My IWC skeleton was not getting much wrist time due to lack a decent strap so I took out the movement and placed it a spare 111 case with spare superlumed hands. I probably need to re-do the hands and paint the subdial hand black. -bosk
-
Definitely a good deal for 40, but is this a fantasy watch? I thought only the 007 SMP has those hour markers. The hour markers will make re-luming super easy tho. -bosk
-
I don't see any price on the dial? Is it for sale? -bosk
-
Gen dials should be an almost perfect fit as long as it says "chronometer" and it is not the mid-size. Perhaps u purchased a replica dial? -bosk

How do I get the stem back into the movement
bosk replied to tonibari's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Was the stem fully pulled out (time setting position) when u pushed the button the first time? It should have been. Did u use a small screw driver or sharp point to push the pin? The stem should just snap back in if u pushed it correctly. U don't push to re-insert the stem. If u over extended the button then u're shafted...u'll have to take the watch apart or send it to some1 to fix. good luck. bosk -
Very nice! Where did u get the hands? the cheapest I found on the net were $65 at www.classicwatchparts.com. TIA bosk
