  1. Ha ha! You have me figured out my friend.
  2. As much as I love the Montauk, no way would I ever wear a white band with it. Just my own personal taste. I love the gen hornback and the HKTAN hornbacks so much better. The only thing I have that's white are shirts and socks.......... I don't even do white undies!
  3. Zorro I believe you are single handedly increasing the sales of Toro's reps. Your pics are awesome and really showcases the beauty of the Montauk Highway with the Gen hornback and the white rubber! GreenHornet's iPad 2.....
  4. I agree, the quality of his work is superb, thats the reason I chose to order from him. And I have confidence that he will eventually ship the strap, not worried about that. I have no reason to believe he won't come through with a top notch product as aslways. But that doesn't change the fact that it's a royal pain in the butt to be given bogus delivery dates. I would have been more than satisfied if he stated up front there is a 6, 8, 12 week backlog, or what ever the true time period may be. That being said, I'm looking forward to the strap to complete my AP Montauk Highway. Everytime I look at the rep strap, I know the HKTan is going to make that watch look so much better.
  5. Does anyone have an idea how big the rep watch production in Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea, etc are compared to mainland China. Is it only a very small fraction? I never gave it much though, just was curious as there are members who travel abroad frequently as well as members who are residents of the various countries.
  6. Count me in on the learning experience! Truly some very knowledgeable members on these forums.
  7. GreekGod has a legitimate question, he's simply asking what other forum members have experienced. Been close to 4 weeks for me waiting for my strap to be shipped from HKTan. I was initially told that it would ship the following week after the order, then inquired about it again 2 weeks later and was told next week. I asked again this week and was told it would ship this week, but as of right now, I have nothing stating it has been shipped. Maybe it has, maybe it hasn't. But im sure that it one of the watch dealers had the same level of service, there would be threads abound crying foul. I do not mind the waiting, from what I have seen of his work, its well worth the wait. However, a person does expect a reasonably honest answer from a merchant he has spent hard earned dollars with. If it will take 6 weeks, say 6 weeks, I know where to temper my expectations. I have ordered straps from at least 4 other dealers and got every one of them within 2 weeks, most well within a week. No complaints here, just stating the facts.
  8. No doubt, I have been waiting on my HK Tan strap for almost a month now. It's getting quite difficult dealing with the anticipation. The rep strap has to go!
  9. I know they had flooding over there. Wasn't sure if things are still shut down because of that. Sent from GreenHornet's iPhone 4 using Tapatalk
  10. Has anyone received their strap from HKTAN recently? I'm still waiting on my Montauk strap from him. Just curious........
  11. Gen or rep, either one works for me. I'm just flat out jealous that DD has a gen AP Safari and a gen GT3! I'll take either one. :-)
  12. Absolutely gorgeous Daytona bro! Sent from GreenHornet's iPad 2 using TapaTalk.....
  13. Another excellent AP review. Thanks for sharing! While there are definitely some flaws in the rep, overall it's a pretty good copy when taken in the context of the rep vs gen dollar ratio. I like the gen with the hornback so much better. Don't know, but whether it's a gen or rep rubber strap, it just doesn't seem to compliment a fine high end time piece like the ROO as well as fine hand crafted leather. But that's just me.
  14. It is a great shot. Looks like that Daytona is floating on water or ice.
  15. +1 Seemed like a spammer to me, but could just be a curious noob. We have all been there, some of us are STILL there.
  16. An amazing piece of rep horology. I have become totally engrossed in the AP ROO heaven since I ventured down the rabbit hole after that Montauk.
  17. Sure it is.............................. go ahead and order one and come back and let us know how awesome it was.
  18. Seems like the motherlode of mods............ No doubt expensive as reps go, but still a HUGE bargain compared to a gen AP. Please share the final product with us when complete!

  20. Going with the Louis Vuitton Tambour today............ this one doesn't get much wrist time at all. It's a keeper though, because I have yet to see a Gen or Rep of this watch in the wild.
