  1. Thanks B! PS: the bezel on this one is (was) NOS gen PPS: You'd better have a closer look at that bezel B. I just compare the photographs, and there is a definite difference between your bezel and mine.
  2. It's been laying around a while. I figured I might as well wind it up and wear it today. Any other "beaters" out there?
  3. B, like I said in my PM, your insert is definitely a genuine item. To confirm if the bezel was a NOS replacement item, the only way to tell for sure is with a loupe. Compare the genuine item to an MBW insert, and you'll see the difference in a split second. However, old inserts look a lot different than yours. The only way to become familiar with the differences is to research for years (don't ask me who in their right mind would ever do such a thing )
  4. VRF A good "heads up" to those seeking gen parts...
  5. I could scan it and create a PDF. I'm in if we could get more guys to commit
  6. Hi Mike, Both are in fact correct. However, the one posted in the opening thread is an earlier "flat 4" and "long 5" insert. The one you posted is for the newer subs, and is also the factory replacement part. FYI, my gen LV "Y" series (2003) has the original lumi insert with a flat four and long five. Cheers, JJ
  7. Wow, that brings back memories ..unfortunately I sold mine long ago I've got a gen NOS crystal that would look great on that watch. It's been hanging around too long, I'd give you a great deal on it if you're interested W. Wear in good health!
  8. ??? I've got a gen matte dialed 16660 and the insert is exactly like this one (except mine has an aged tritium pearl) I also have a gen matte dialed 16800 and the insert is exactly like this one (except serifed font on my sub insert) I also have a gen 5513 with white gold surrounds that has an insert exactly like this one. So, I'm curious as to what you are basing your opinion on. Do you have photographs of every genuine insert font style used by rolex?
  9. ...can we think of "up and over" the broken nub while we look at your avatar?
  10. correct spelling is loctite, they probably sell this stuff all over the world ever replaced a flywheel or worked on a set of heads?
  11. try an e-z out ..kidding of course. Just drill it out and chip out the remaining bits from the threads. All you'll need then is a new screw. I wouldn't think it's a warranty issue at all since you did it yourself (I still find it amazing how a counterfeit anything can have a "warranty"!)
  12. Saw your post over on RG. Here's a little history for ya, just don't tell the missus. Here's the post on VRF where the watch was bought: http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1272544358/fs-rare+PCG-+5513+gilt+UNDERLINE...9K+SHIPPED+worldwide%21 Days earlier, the same exact watch was sold on ebay for $6000.00, and that included the original bracelet. So, the seller on VRF bought the watch for 6, took the bracelet for himself, added a 20 dollar nato and jacked the price three grand. Good luck with it, and wear in the best of health
  13. How about buying the real thing and doing some real diving PS: prices have come down quite a bit lately, here's one for a little over 8 grand. looks like fun... know any trenches nearby where we could test one out?
  14. I have a gen 6mm, but it's an older brevet "+"
  15. Thank you guys, my most sincere appreciation for your kind words. If it weren't for the knowledge that I've gained here over the years, I would have never known (or became so picky) about choosing the pieces for my collection. Cheers, JJ
  16. For those who may appreciate datejust, here's a rare gem. I was watching this for a while, and took the time to do a little research. It turns out this is a fairly rare catch; especially in this condition. White gold bezel and bubbleback movement. Correct hands which appear original. The only thing that looks like it was changed is the crown, as this watch would have originally came with a 6mm brevet. PS: I would have bid on this watch myself, but I recently bought something very special
  17. I'm thinking about getting a beater gen DSSD just for diving. As far as AR on a Rolex, who in their right mind?
