Every few months, I question my rep collection. Having sworn never to buy a gen again, I've slowly started rebuilding with a couple of used gens and a couple of highly modded Frankens with gen Rolex movements. I've now identified (I think) which models are keepers and which are not. I will never buy a brand new watch in store again. There are always deals to be had. Back to reps, who doesn't like having a box full of watches to choose from? Buy one for $358, see if t works. If not, sell. All for $50-$75 loss. It's great. As others have said, the "getting caught" is in our head. What % of the population are WIS? Buy what makes you comfortable. Even $358 spent on something that is never worn is a waste of money!

Freddy, thanks for the advice. Minh did come through with a reply last night after I formally requested a refund. He has asked for 5 more days to get me the "perfect dial!" Being a reasonable guy and wanting the perfect dial, I agreed. In 5 days, I will go the PP claim route. It will be close but still within the 45 days from payment date. I will keep you posted. My gut tells me he wants to satisfy me as he does sell some high-priced items and gens. I imagine he might be lurking around these parts as well.

Surprisingly, Minh has not responded to my last 2 emails. I guess i have no other alternative at this point. I am extremely disappointed. The minute i mentionned Paypal, he went radio silent.

I emailed him on Tuesday advising him that while i am willing to be patient, the 45 day PP claim window was important for me. No response... I will give him until Monday - thats a full week. I hope it works out as i was planning to buy a Comex dial from him!

About a month ago, I ordered a dial from MQ. I received it super fast. I was not 100% happy, so I contacted Minh and he said it he would replace it with something more satisfactory. He told me to give him time. I did. I followed up twice and each time he has stated he needs just a few more days. My concern is that we are getting close to the 45 day limit for me to file a PP claim - and no, it won't put in jeopardy this hobby!! Goods not as described is what it will most likely be. At the same time, I don't want to get into a fight with MQ. I hate having to think of a PP claim. I've never filed one myself. Ay ideas? Thanks

That's sound advice. Take your time. I personally spent weeks reading up on different things and what to look for before I pulled the trigger. Geez! I remember when I didn't know the difference between the classic sub and the new ceramic sub.

Nanuq, I had my doubts given the overhang or hooked 2. It does seem to extend a little further at the top. But I am not 100% sure. It's an insert for a sapphire GMT Master II.

I need some help to validate the authenticity of this insert. The insert is new in a wrapper but the wrapper has been opened. I've done my comparison with gen pics and the available educational material over at TRF from Orchi and Springer. Experts, please chime in before I pull the trigger.

That was the plan. A The Zigmeister built HEV with the case drilled. I know he struggled with the thickness of the steel and went through several bits (not on mine) but the experience was enough to resend mine. I actually had 2 1665's with him for the same mods so I was disappointed. I will hit up JMB again soon. I know he's been busy.
