A 1030 is nice, but an A.260 smokes

The natural wear on the jubilee makes the watch look older & conjures up a narrative about the original Oyster band having gotten lost somewhere along the way

Not liking the nato strap (if an aftermarket bracelet will not fit, you might consider 1 of the rubber-B straps or the cheaper, rep alternative), but the watch looks great. Well done.

I appreciate the input &, yes, jubilees are definitely the most comfortable bracelets.

Got a good deal on a US-made, 70s jubilee bracelet that makes a nice change from my usual 7835. It needed a bit of restorative work, most of which I have completed, but I think the center (polished) links could use a bit more polish. In any case, I am not sure whether the jubilee adds a bit of an edge to a Newman or if it just looks out of place

Remember, these are wrapped crowns (I have never seen this on a 704). That is, a thin sheet of steel is wrapped over a metal substrate. Over time & after successive polishings, the wrapping gets worn away at the highest points, leaving holes.

'Hollow holes' result from over-polishing.

I would love to post the pic, but it is next to impossible to locate a particular pic in my archives, which consists of several gigs worth of pics I have collected since joining TZ in early '01. It came from TZ & I just did a search, but was unable to locate the original. Sorry.

Ditto. The black dials seem cool, but are difficult to see.

It sounds like you have not read the rules, specifically item 25 - This thread locked.

Since both red & white 1680s use the same (1575) movement, there should not be any difference in case dimensions.

Nice finds & Harbor Freight should be on everyone's bookmark list as they have many tools for sale at below market prices (but you do take a quality hit sometimes, so I reserve Harbor Fright for non-mission critical tasks).

Never seen a 702 rep. You might want to start saving/searching ebay/tz/vrf, etc for a gen.

Except for the too narrow 6 & 9 index marks on the Sub, well done.

Hard to tell with the usual shady pic, but, from what I can make out, it looks like typical a aftermarket to me.
