  1. Stay tuned.
  2. Ditto. Most around here actively seek out used-looking parts in favor of mint versions.
  3. I think MY's (CWP) are made for gen movements, but, as Nick1972 suggests, you may be able to make it fit. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
  4. Still wearing my ceramic GMT
  5. Get a more authentic-looking bracelet & tone down the polish on the bezel sides & you will have a winner.
  6. You just learned the difference between a collector & a salesman.
  7. I guess they have not seen the updated pic
  8. Ending the work week still wearing my ceramic GMT
  9. Too good for those silly rep bracelets. Get rid of them & you will kick the authenticity factor of your work up a notch.
  10. As sneed12 said, if the hands were the problem, they would be flopping around the dial every time you moved the watch or just pointing south all the time. I would guess you have a wheel installed upside-down or otherwise incorrectly so motion is not being transmitted to the hour/minute hands.
  11. You might try posting on VRF, but you are still likely to be referred to the model number between the lugs. Hard to tell from the pic, but the dial may be repainted, which will leave that lug number as the only reliable method of deducing the model.
  12. Remove the strap & you will find the model number between 1 set of lugs & the serial number between the opposite set. You might also remove the caseback & snap a pic of the movement.
  13. Because the Asian 7750 is a clone of the Swiss version, they are interchangable. Properly serviced, either should provide similar longevity/performance, so there is little to be gained from such an exchange.
  14. Discoloration of text is 1 of the limiting factors in vintagizing dials. Still, the watch looks great.
  15. Love the dial & the black insert looks very understated/cool. You may remember I was considering using a black insert early on. Your dial looks like the same thing NDT is selling for hundreds (due to the 'special paint').
  16. If you had not discolored some of the text (natural aging very rarely affects the lettering), I would say you knocked it out of the ballpark. Still, well done.
  17. I am not familar with this particular watch, so I cannot answer your question. But the fact that, like most reps, the pics are shot at angles that hide most of the date window tells me the magnification may be off. Again, this is something you need to specifically ask the seller about before you click the Buy button.
  18. It is very rare (so rare that I have only seen it happen 1 time in more than 25 years) that an honest seller will post dark, distant, fuzzy, shadowy or otherwise hard-to-see pics of a genuine watch for sale. On the other hand, it is common for rogues to do these things in an effort to obfuscate the details of their crime. Excuses like 'I just got this camera' or 'my wife/friend/dog/fish took the pics' or 'the best I can do with this old camera/phone' are all lies, or should be taken as lies. 1 other thing - Never, ever purchase a Rolex watch without seeing good, clear pics of the movement. And if you are unsure what a gen Rolex movment looks like, ask someone who does know. That way, at the very least, if you end up with a franken, you end up with something of value you can resell to recoup some of your money back.
  19. This seller is generally good, but, lately, I have had problems. Before clicking the Buy button, I would email him with this line - 'If I purchase this watch & receive something that is not exactly as pictured & described on this page <insert page URL here>, you will refund my total purchase without requiring me to return the watch to Asia.' If he agrees, make sure you pay with Paypal & keep a copy of his response. Hopefully, all will be well. But, if not, you are covered.
  20. Welcome to the wonderful world of franken-Rolex.
