  1. The seconds hand is a little off. Otherwise, great replica! Label [censored] chicks dig the J12.
  2. Is the nib stainless or gold? It's an impressive replica.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the chrono pushers are not in a straight line with the crown on the gen. The buttons are in the same plane on the rep. This is a dead giveaway.
  4. The swiss 7750 stem is identical to the new Asian one. PM me with your address. I have about 8 extra 7750 stems and I'll mail you one. The 7750 usually doesn't cause trouble with stem removal. There's a tiny stem release button that depresses easily.
  5. I notice a prototype picture on a certain dealer's website! I've been waiting patiently for the full size version to come out! It looks oh sooo PERFECT on initial pictures!
  6. It means readers are RATING the thread. If you look at this thread, on the upper right corner, there is a box marked "RATING". It pulls down and readers can rate it from 1 to 5 stars. ADDENDUM: I was too slow.
  7. Thanks, The Zigmeister. I've taken the TZ courses, so I'll probably be ok! (hopefully)
  8. Does anyone know an internet site that diagrams the current Venus 185 movement that goes into our chronograph reps? I want to fiddle with an extra broken Venus, and I would like some guidance.
  9. I ruined one bezel. Don't try this without a dedicated bezel removal tool or with EXTREME care! You will need 3 or 4 points of traction. NOT a watch knife! The Bergeon bezel removal tool costs $350 or so, and the Rolex bezel removal tool costs $200.
  10. Nice! Can you PM me on how you obtained a gen dial?
  11. You can order SuperLuminova directly from RC Tritec. Just give them an e-mail and tell them you're a small watchmaker. LOL
  12. Not only is there a bezel insert alignment problem, but the SMP Chrono also has the misaligned bezel noticeable at 3 and 9 o'clock (at least mine did). The bezel is VERY high quality and firmly seated. It's a b**ch to remove. What TTK says is true. I can tell you from experience.

    New El Ingenieur!

I'd buy it if the datefont got fixed.
  14. My biggest complaint about leather straps is that they give off that leather stench. Maybe I'm a little sensitive. Is there any way to lessen this? Or is it that I'm just picking cheapo straps?
  15. Physician salary has nothing to do with how good you are and everything to do with where you live. A neurosurgeon in Seattle? Maybe 500K. But a neurosurgeon in Nebraska or South Dakota? 1.5 million. I wonder if the watch "props" are genuine or replica.
  16. There's a new replica of the AMG version available. The date font looks bolder, but still off.
  17. I ended up jacking my bezel on the new Seamaster Pro Chrono. This sucks. Removal was much more difficult than I had thought. It seems I can't order a replica replacement. Does anyone know if this watch is 1:1 with regard to the genuine bezel (not the bezel insert) fitting onto the replica case? The genuine costs 180 at Ofrei Thanks.
  18. You don't need to purchase the tools to enroll in the TZ course. However, you'd better own your own tools because you can't do jack without them. If you're going to do any watchwork, you'll need to start buying tools anyway. It gets very expensive very quickly.
  19. Thanks guys! Here's a better closeup of the details. I'll post my Panerai pics soon with my Scotch tape method.
  20. We need some wristshots. I wanna see how big it looks on wrists.
  21. Looks BEAUTIFUL! The hands are too short compared to the gen. (I'm basing this on pictures on omega's official website and not the pictures above) I'd also like to see the canon pinion compared to the gen, because it looks like it might suffer from short cannon pinion syndrome. Note how the TimeZone pictures also show short hands. Weird how things look different sometimes
  22. After ruining two Panerai dials, I've gotten pretty good at luming. I use Scotch tape to delineate my longer straight edges to protect against overruns. I remove the tape immediately while the lume is still wet. If it starts drying, it leaves an irregular edge. I was bored, so I thought I'd post pics. Obviously, the lume doesn't glow this brightly. I overexposed the lume pic. The lume edges look slightly irregular in the photos but part of that is due to reflections. To the naked eye even at ultraclose inspection, it looks perfect. Excuse the dust on the crystal.
  23. It's called a Venus movement because it is a Venus movement.
  24. Who knows about the forum name. Why don't you publicly post his address here so we can all send him hate mail.

    For By-tor

Edited.. my dumb post out. Thought 1st gen meant first generation instead of.. genuine. The rep picture shows a bezel pearl that's slightly off center. My rep's pearl was really far off. I'm trying to get it fixed with a replacement.
