  1. It is an easy fix if you feel comfortable taking apart your movement. The Zigmeister has a great diagram of the 12 hour subdial problem at the bottom of the post here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=1406
  2. I like it! Where can I get the rep?
  3. Everyone who's worked on a Pannie knows how easy it is to chip a little black paint off the edge of the minutes hand when removing them. How do you guys camoflauge the exposed steel? I'm looking for some sort of simple touch-up paint-applying pen kind of device. If anyone could point me to an easy solution without me having to use a can of spraypaint, I'd appreciate it.
  4. Don't know the answer, but if you know how to get your hands on a genuine Ingy datewheel, please share your info! I want one. We could make a datewheel project out of it.
  5. Tissot PRS516 chronograph automatic
  6. Here's my list of all my reps with or without problems. I've had more watches with problems than not. 1) AP Royal Oak. Perfect case, dial, and movement. The bracelet had issues with warped links compared to some of the perfect pictures I've seen. I kept it and didn't complain. Some of the links on the bracelet have an obvious curvature/warp to them at the edges. 2) VC Overseas - Definitely QC problems with assembling the bracelet. I disassembled the tiny parts of the bracelets and reassembled them and now it looks good. Some of the bracelet parts were crookedly put together with some stripped screws. 3) Rollie DJ - Awesome rep except for one VERY crooked stick marker which draws the attention of the eye. The keyless works had been jacked up by whoever put the watch together. I didn't complain. 4) Omega SM PO 42mm - Glued on Omega symbol was very crooked. Sent back for another one. The swapped PO had a great looking dial, but the bracelet was defective with a broken link to the SEL. I was sent a new bracelet by the dealer. 5) Omega SM Chrono Diver - bezel pearl SEVERELY off center and crooked. There was a movement defect. The subdial at 6o'clock runs even when the chrono is not running. I swapped out the movement, and fixed the issue. 6) EL YM - No problems! 7) Pam 005 (Swiss) - No problems! None of my gens have ever had issues out of the box.... as should be the case.
  7. Nice lume job. Did you do it yourself?
  8. I think the date dial will fit. The Zigmeister would probably know for sure.
  9. They won't. You need to use a broach to widen the hands or you can purchase real Omega second and subdial hands at Ofrei.. will cost you about $40 total. The subdial hands are backordered. This 7750 is still available from the same seller. He's reliable but charges 4% PayPal surcharge.. still the way to go. http://cgi.ebay.com/Tag-Heuer-mech-Chronog...tem110047478407
  10. You can sometimes find good deals on eBay. Just be careful to scrutinize the post because there are some Asian 7750s being advertised as Swiss. Here's where I got my signed TAG rotor Swiss 7750 http://cgi.ebay.com/ETA-7750-Movement-for-...tem110046103304
  11. kruzer00: I didn't swap only datewheels. I swapped the whole movement. My SM Chrono Diver is now a swiss ETA. Woohoo. Oh.. my last post was confusing. The print on the datewheel of the Asian movement is not centered the same as the datewheel on the ETA 7750 movement. I think this might also explain the date center issue on the Tag. I'll know once I get around to purchasing a Tag for a 7750 swap. I have a new ETA 7750 with "Tag Heuer" engraved on the rotor waiting for this future project.
  12. The issue is not with the dial, but with the Asian movement. I replaced the Asian with the Swiss 7750. Date is now PERFECTLY ALIGNED. Date font looks so much better!
  13. This is probably my next chronograph purchase. I'm hedging because I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for someone to rep the Tag Carrera chronograph. *dreaming*
  14. Are the Breit Navitimers 1:1 in size with the gen?
  15. I agree with the price issue. I wish the outer circle were in silver color instead of white. I'd rather buy the Asian version and swap in a Swiss 7750 with some broach work on the dial hands. Would give you a reliable Swiss movement and save over 300 bucks.
  16. Well.. I found the genuine Tag crowns at Ofrei. Now I need to find the corresponding tubes for my Tag crown project. http://www.ofrei.com/page_137.html
  17. Nice! That's the first white dial Pam pic I've seen where the lume indices are placed in perfect position without being off to one side. I like the solid case back Pammies. May I ask where you acquired it from?
  18. Good job! Keep at it! I ruined the first two dials I attempted to lume. I kept wanting a binocular surgical microscope to help me deal with magnification and depth perception. I've come up with my own little tricks to make luming a little safer on the dial, but it is very time consuming.
  19. Ofrei has made it very easy to order original Omega parts. However, sourcing parts for other watches is not easy. Can anyone point me to a source for genuine Tag or Breitling parts? In particular, I'm looking for genuine crowns, tubes, and hands.
  20. Excellent course! Going through the TZ courses makes makes Donald de Carlisle's Practice Watch Repairing book very easy to understand. I wish I knew a way to laserprint onto watch dials. I say take a silver marker and sign it a al Ayrton Senna's Tag Chrono. Hah!
  21. I'm too poor to own nice speakers. Sennheiser HD-650 headphones through a Stefan Audioart cable and a Ray Samuels headphone amplifier. Stunning clarity!
  22. Is that a rep??? The Cotes de Geneve looks sooo good on that watch!
  23. I have a theory that the date window on the rep is smaller to avoid problems with seeing the adjacent dates due to the recessed date wheel on the Asian 7750. I'd prefer a genuine size date window.
  24. I agree. 4th Gen 42mm is the way to go. The Omega symbol still has those little tails on it and looks too big. The bezel isn't very accurate. I do applaud the improvements though. The hand length looks good.
  25. I was wondering if it's possible to take the plug in Joshua's perfect SD and just "sand blast" a finish to make it look like titanium?
