  1. I am getting a 5513 case from DW, but thought I'd post here to see if more experienced members could help me out and check dimensions. Do these pics look right as far as dimensions go? I have asked for lug to lug measurements as well as inner rehaut measurements; will post those once I get them. Here are the pics he sent me: Thanks for all your help in advance!
  2. Hmmm... A cross reference of "troublesome" people from VRF/TRF might be interesting.
  3. Hmmm... Not to take this off topic, but can the rehaut area be fixed to 5512/3 spec? I don't know the dimensions; should the rehaut be narrower or larger?
  4. I'm ordering a DW 1680 case. He said he can engrave 5513 instead of 1680; maybe he can engrave 9411...
  5. If you are looking for a rivet 19mm bracelet, the ref. no. is 7205. Woof is right about the nice prices of these: I picked up a rivet for less than $100 a couple of months ago!
  6. I don't think that is a water stain. I could be wrong, but that looks like a reflection of the camera lens in the plexi. Interesting that it is a service dial, though.
  7. True, I don't know why a Lumi replacement dial would have T Swiss T. Weren't those generally transition dials, and usually an add-on to an existing Swiss dial? Why would this be on a service dial? Lots of questions; I wonder if Shear has any answers?
  8. Yes, if you are going for the newer style 5513, you definitely need one with the white-gold surrounds. They are usually much cheaper than their matte counterparts.
  9. Bizarre. :S Well, if it makes you happy, go with it! 99% of people won't even notice what watch you have on anyway, so if you can stand it, vaya con Dios. As a bonus, you can tell what time it is at night still...
  10. @Rymeister: A gilt dial is a dial which has the text in gold, instead of white. It is not caused by aging, but rather left the factory that way. IMHO, they look much nicer than regular old white dials.
  11. That's what I thought. I don't think Rolex ever made super-lume 6610 dials, so i think your first assumption might have been right about it being fake. The odd thing is that it is being sold by Andrew Shear. Usually his stuff is on the up and up. I wonder what the story is with this one.
  12. About that dial, shouldn't it have the SCOC text on the lower half? I don't think there were any 1016 Explorers that weren't COSC certified...
  13. He replied in this thread! Just send him a PM.
  14. @ghost: If you want to post pics of the dial, I'm sure the awesome resource which is RWG can tell you if it is gen. Good luck on your project. Hope to see pics when it is finished!
  15. Thanks M. The dial aging is all JMB's work. The dial had a few imperfections (namely the T in Perpetual) and I asked if he could age it to cover it up. I never imagined he could get it looking so cool!
  16. Here's mine: MBW case, gen crown, Yuki bracelet, JMB bezel, and Yuki dial. I would recommend that you put your gen dial into a MBW case set w/ JMB's bezel. The crown would be icing on the cake. What year is your dial from? (Pics courtesy of JMB)
  17. I think a copy is still available in the VIP section of RWG2...
  18. The Rolex Daytona book is available for VIP download over at RWG 1.1.
  19. From what I see of the orange hand, it is the wrong shape. It looks squared off in the part going from the pinion to the indicator, where it should have a slight angle decrease.
  20. I know the handset I linked is gen-spec. I think the Omega handset is ETA, but I could be wrong.
  21. Personally, I always assumed an InGod dial would be the best replacement. I believe he even has the "frog foot" coronet. The hands should be available on ebay. Here's where I bought mine:http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-STYLE-HAND-SET-FIT-ROLEX-EXPLORER-II-1655-/170683205768?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27bd830888#ht_1053wt_952 They are pretty close to gen-spec, right colors and all that. You can make pretty low offers, too. I believe gen-crown is 6mm.
  22. I've got 60 endlinks on my gen 7205, if that helps. There is a bit of a gap between top of endlink and bezel, but nothing very noticeable.
  23. Nanuq, that looks good! What are your secrets? (besides driving over cases, torching watches, etc.) lol
