AP ROO rubberlcad with special grey dial
MADRED7 replied to MADRED7's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
I told the factory to do some mods and they will have a very nice LE that was launched by AP this May...the GSTAAD CLASSIC ROO ...Titanium case, slat-grey dial, red chrono hands, red cover for start/stop-pusher...mmmh Theo -
Thanx for your words.... The finishing of this watch is stunning, it has all these brushed and high-ploished areas on the case and the bracelet. Some members reportet stripped screws on the bracelet...i did not have any complain on this, it was easy to shorten the strap to fit her smaller wrist but the unshortened bracelet allows a men

Dear members, and here I am again....as you can see from my last post I do have a real strong feeling for the color GREY....my car is grey my clothes are grey, my ....is grey....and so most of my watches have grey dials, grey straps or at least are made of Titanium ....but it is not just grey...there are 127 shades of grey...mouse-grey, stone-grey, dark-grey, charcoal.... So I decided to have my rubberclad re-done...I had the model with thinny-rubber-cover .. so off it went to my dealer overseas. Right before that I requested and asked some dealers if they will be able to source a spare grey dial and rehaut...they messed up the first grey batch of rosegold rubberclads anyway....some said no, some said maybe, one said yes (but only the dial). So I asked my dealer I worked with for 5 years now (we had good and bad times) and he said "I will try". What can I say, after some weeks of waiting and asking over and over again....it finally was ready and shipped home to me. The factory changed the black dial into the slate-grey dial of the rosegold Rubberclad version, added new white hands to match the numbers, installed the correct colored rehaut as well. All in all a great result...I am blown away, I love this watch. I attached the genuine AP rubberstrap to it...makes a big difference in the feel compared to the rep-rubber...ready. And here are 2 crappy pics of it...I am not very good in photography, please excuse. Cheers mates, Theo

Dear All, as you know I am an addict for AP (especially ROO

WOW...this 27A looks sweeet...I like the tritium colored numbers/indezees better than those on the 28A. Wear it well. QUESTION: did the T48 crown need any mods? Theo

The new engraving looks nice....now the dealers should lower the price for the laser edges ones @ST4....have you tried to mount the strap "up-side-down"...short part at 6 and long part at 12 o

P.S.: I am missing a wrist-shot....please post one! P.P.S.: I can hardly see the black "Made in GERMANY"....but is the black circeled "Ar" printed beside the 9 o

Thanks Lani....allways enjoy your reviews (if long or short, macros or not). This can be on my list now.....I still need a "playing-watch", a daily-beater to use while swimming or gras trimming. Plan to get the B&R PVD chrono one day but maybe I switch over to this one....should I wait? Theo P.S.: I am missing a wrist-shot....please post one! P.P.S.: I could hardly see the black "Made in GERMANY"....but is the black circeled "Ar" printed beside the 9 o´clock postion???

Hi M. yes of course this watch speaks to me as well....and again I feel we are bros in mind....the Rue St. H. was on my list as well....I am not the red-strap fan but like the watch anyway. But for over 500$ I expect a rep that has no obvious flaws (at least a BASE tachy and better serial like 087/500). AP does many watches (ROO

....try PANATIME dot com....they have the cheapest alternatives and these straps are real good quality! Theo

Cool pictorial BTW

I will not buy it for 2 reasons: 1) the dial-color is pretty good allthough not seen in real....but the numbers are still wrong and black, they are supposed to be dark brown....and believe me, you can see the difference if you have ever seen a gen! 2) the rep-strap is a dead give-away, it looks far too plasticky and a gen AP hornback is 700$ new or 400$ used....hey, I can buy a complete watch for that money. CONCLUSION: I cannot understand why the factories don

The DSN PAM082 is quite nice.....but the caseback is badly done....the complete pic and inscription should be engraved ... in the rep this is just laser or acid edged.....font is wrong.....anyway, this PAM is not a very popular model and the selling price for the real deal did not skyrocket like the PAM036. I don

I strongly believe that the numerals on the rep are still black Allthough the dial is an improvement, the SAFARI has to look 100% because it is one of the most seen AP

Some holiday wrist-shots of the APROO NAVY
MADRED7 replied to MADRED7's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
I saw Archimedes post and he did wonderful pics....but all of the pics were done in extreme good light or photoshopped afterwards. The rep-strap is far more blue than on his pics...so are the crown and pusher covers. The real NAVY has them in dark navy-blue...the rep blue is more an ocean-blue. The rep strap itself is very good compared to what you get....under 100 bucks for a leather strap, endlinks that fit snuggly and a deployant that works great...noone can beat that. I tried to find an original NAVY hornback from AP....500$ in NOS condition if you -
This is a new model introduced at SIHH earlier this year....this is the silvery-white version in ss and there is another version with grey dial and titanium with bracelet. I suppose the factory will do them but don

Hey JM, there are some people out there who might be of help. If in the US...try the ZIGMEISTER based in CANADA. If you

Thats the horn-back-fake it came with...actually it is quite good....far away from the real deal but nice. -
Dear members, I am back from my annual leave and had a pleasant time in the mountains...relaxing, hiking and enjoying pure nature. Made some quick and dirty shots of the watches I had with me....here is the Marina Militare part of them: The watch kept great time and was happy to see the rough mountains....enjoy.

Thx Ubi.....I never managed to get all my AP-members in one pic. I was impressed the first day I had a APROO full gold on my wrist...nearly 700g of pure watch..wow....that started it all some 12 years ago. Theo -

Unfortunately the ROC is 42mm....a bit too big, but it looks extremely nice with that gray/black dial mmmmhhh! 2 weeks ago I bought a RO in bracelet and 36mm with grey dial for my wife...amazingly nice, fits her like a glove....for sports, office and party time as well....a real allrounder....have to post additional pics of the rest of my AP family soon Theo -
Any infos when the factories will do it? The ss version is an impressive piece and very accurate...easy to do it in PVD though....SAY WHEN? Theo
