  1. Hi guys,

saw the Coffe and smoke thread and that reminds me on my own projects waiting to be finished.

Currently I am looking for a method to brighten up the matte black color of PAM dials without damaging the white printed words on it????

I tried steam and quick-dry under a hot bulp to make the black fade to grey.....could take ages....I want to achieve a look like it has been worn 60 years under the bright italian sun.

I tried the sandpaper method...but these damned dials are thinner than a bible-page....and the color does not fade but only disappear (and it disappears not equally on the whole dial)....the edges show their brass quicker than I wanted!

Any clues and hints and help is greatly apreciated, thx.

  2. OK guys...just to bring some light in the darkness:

The box was handmade on request of a dutch Paneristi. Made of wood, conolly leather and aloy.

The price of the box was way above the $5000 mentioned!

All the watches are real deals....but this guy was a bit PVD crazy in those days (2004) and had several PAM

  3. Those straps are quite nice ... but 4 of the same kind is a bit too much....and the seller trys to make same additional bucks with his shipping rate...how is he delivering?....Fly over to your home and hand out personally?

48$ shipping is 6 times more than any other normal rate!

    So I

  4. ...in addition

to the wrong CALIFORNIA on that dial .... the complete dial and indizees color is wrong.

The gen has got engraved numbers that were filled with a kind of vintage-looking lume...they look sunken from some angle.

Anyway, this rep is a beautiful piece, I love it....I have the WM-version and the russian version, I also own this "new" 249 version of the reference 3646 and I have another one on the way (because strap chnage is a bit of a hassle and you allways need to glue the screws when you tight them to avoid loosing them :p

Go ahead....there are only 1936 pieces in real live,

  5. @ROB....sorry to hear you were spoiled again....I knew the pain to deal with timewaisters and I understand that sucks....putting those members on a spam-list is a good alternativ to sort out!

@mrnixon....The Zigmeister is no watchmaker, he has no shop...he is a hard working man with "normal-every-day-job" but with an addictiv hobby DIY-watchmaking :p.... therefor he has to schedule all the work he offers....and thats a really good thing cause you def. know when your beloved watch will be on his desk for repair...so you also know when it will be back at your doorstep. Go to a local watchsmith, leave your broken rep/gen with him and you will get an approximate date to pick it up again....but normally I have to call several times and remind them on the work to be done....the better/bigger the customer the faster the service. You won

  6. Yes thats true, the 24mm version is being sold since 2 weeks now...unfortunately w/o the nice engraving on it. I saw many posts on other forea where they show them off.

I believe that Angus will not come up with this....it seams there is allways a different project coming in his way that gets higher priority.

Hope to see it one day though....my PP is ready to shoot money :p
