  1. That's interesting to hear... how long have you had your daytonas that they are still working? From reading what The Zigmeister says the 7750 sounds like a total time bomb, but then again to hear me talk about almost any computer part would make you want to get an abacus... yet in real life laymans terms most of the parts I have an "issue" with are perfectly fine for 90% of the people 90% of the time. I really have my heart set on a TT MOP with Roman numerals... still looking I guess...
  2. For some reason that watch makes her look like a fembot... almost like you can see right through the face and into her arm... I personally have a thing for girls who don't wear their watches on the wrong wrist and upside down
  3. I am sleeping with my pants on... ITWYSTTHII
  4. It's always a gamble. The risk can be offset some by the policy of whichever dealer you deal with.
  5. I may do that, but I believe his how to contact guide alludes to email without the proper subject going into the circular bin...
  6. While Kirk arguably is a shoe in for the "Pimps green women who die shortly after" award we all know TNG is where it's at...
  7. As is the watch... the only thing that would make it better is if it featured "Ouartz" somewhere on the face...
  8. I am hoping that that is a saying that doesn't sound quite as wrong in some other language... either that or you two are really good friends...
  9. Hehe, thanks for the reply... but that is not really an option I have at hand right now (however believe me the thought has crossed my mind that in a year or so I may be ready to attempt such a thing). And I KNOW you aren't looking to sell your frankentona at anywhere near the price range I can afford... I bet your crystal costs more than I have to spend right now I have considered the vintage route as I believe that legitimately puts the running secs at 9... however I haven't found one I like the look of...
  10. I wanted to ask if he sources or has access to watches outside what he has up... I have indeed read up and from what I see he puts the most effort into the watches he sells which makes me want to buy from him if possible. However I also respect his requests as per how to contact him, and after exhausting the only option I had (attempt PM) I see no way to contact him without violating his requested email format (since I would be asking about a watch he isn't listing). Yet I believe he posted he was selling his knife due to interest or request from somewhere on the forum, so it came to me maybe he does take requests. I have read quite a bit but haven't found information to make me lean either way, so having exhausted my resources I am now asking outright. I apologize, I should have said I wanted to ask him about a watch he does not list for sale, I would have no way of knowing if he sells it without asking... which ironically I don't know how to go about doing. Since he put so much time into describing how he wants to be contacted and how he does not I wanted to put at least a decent amount of effort into researching the proper way to contact him in this case, if there is one. I think you can see I am not "bump and running" as it were
  11. I am looking to get a Daytona... I know there just isn't a way to get a very accurate one but I still would like to add one to the collection... But with choices like seconds at 6 or 9, newer 7750 or 28800 (are there daytonas with this?) I was wondering which way you went and why since pretty much any choice has to be a compromise... I would like to hear your reasoning as to which way to go... at the moment I am leaning towards a seconds at 9 so the 7750 has a better chance of holding up for a while. Despite it being a pretty obvious tell, this watch is full of em so there is no way to get around being obviously fake and the seconds at 9 models seem to make it cheap enough that it's an oh well sort of thing... I am currently thinking about this one http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1369 from silix and possibly even leaving the chrono running all the time so as not to draw to much attention to the only thing moving being at 9. I am awaiting an answer from selix however I am afraid that the end links are not solid gold and will suffer the SS visible from the side problem. Other option I was looking at http://www.wo-mart.com/product_info.php?cP...roducts_id=1133 from Paul. Better subdials and solid endlinks (wish it was MOP)... but that brings me back to a stressed 7750... That's the best logic that I can get right now, but different points of view are always a good thing. Thanks for any input.
  12. RQLEX QSTER RERPETUAL SUFERLATIVE CHRQNQMETER QFFICIALL CERTIFIED CQSMQGRAPH DAY TONA.... Since the 6 oclock subdial doesn't match the hour hand it must be a GMT... which is impressive espeically becuase it bends time to simultaneously be slightly before the hour at the same time the hour hand is slightly after the hour... warps space time continuom... let's see a Gen do that! Think it's 18k or 14k gold?
  13. I can't imagine why... I only emailed her 124 times asking for a date...
  14. But not sure what the right forum is... I wanted to ask ttk about a watch but it's not one he sells and his instructions say to include the number of the watch you are interested in so I obviously can't... also can't PM so what's the best way to contact ttk with a question? Or if he doesn't accept requests or questions of this sort it would be good to know also
  15. This is where I was told to go when I was asking for local watch repair toolkits... it's over 50 miles for me to get there though so I am hesitant...
  16. I think I saw this brought up before... Omega is too big and hands are a bit small maybe? Overall looks hot and yes the price is right... I am looking for an Omega dealer in my area to see if I like the smaller size more in the end... Ever wonder if ADs get suspicious of people comming in, trying on a watch, then having it next time they come in but not having bought it?
  17. Thanks for the input guys. Yes it is the one that goes in the clasp not the one that holds the strap onto the watch. Those things are tricky... I never had a problem before, but for some reason it just wouldn't go into it's hole, so I thought I would pull it out and start over... one end still braced adn the other end just launched out... Yeah I am trying to size it down 1/2 link or so... as it is it's a bit big and hangs too far on my hand, minus one more link it's too small and pinches when I bend my hand backwards. Slightly OT but the other spring bar (the one that sits near the 3 holes that can be moved) I can't get out... the holes don't go thorugh the clasp so I can't push in from the outside, I have tried to pris at it in the small holes that are obviously for getting to it with a small screw drier but no luck... is there a trick to this process? Thanks!
  18. Aha.... I thought abay was something in the past...
  19. What are his 4 websites? I am only aware of womart....
  20. Thanks for the advice... I actually have a friend who owns a fix it shop (vacuums, lamps, key cuts, toasters etc) and I think I will go ask him, he won't rip me off for anything. But failing that I really didn't want to go into a watch shop with an obviously fake rolex anyway... so I appreciate the advice either way. I measured it with a ruler (pretty decent) and it's a 14mm gap (does that sound right?) so I will try both venues tomorrow and hope I get lucky. Fortunately under closer examination there was a second spring bar right next to where the main one goes (I supposed to support the clasp or something) so worst case I can just bring that in (if I don't loose it taking it out) for an exact match. Those things are deceptive... the thing flew out like a javeline...
  21. Was messing with my Daytona trying to resize it a bit and the spring loaded bar that holds the bracelet to the clasp jumped out and flew across the room... it's not a particularly clean room and after an hour of looking I pretty much gave up... I will be calling around tomorrow to try and find a store that sells the part (seems like there are no watch repair stores anywhere in town) and was wondering if someone would tell me what it's called? Thanks
  22. Thanks for the advice, I have a dremel and may try that... Do you take your bracelets apart and do them one link at a time? Also want to smooth out my crown (Daytona with very big sharp grips on the crown) I am thinking maybe the dremel/abrasive wool would work on this also? What about little bits of metal going into the watch?
  23. That's a pretty watch for sure... but not sure on the soft pink... it's girlie to be sure but maybe a bit too for my needs... Thanks for the suggestion all the same, I will be keeping it in mind and maybe ask if he can get it in red or something. I was also thinking something like this http://perfect-clones.com/lv10001-tambour-...3692-p-530.html but it suffers from not being "girlie" enough I would think...
  24. Give your boss a cheap rep that runs fast so it will be Tues sooner?
  25. This is not PS? http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-11/71140/Ebel07FLARE.jpg Helluva lense flair
