  1. Namor is right they all have their pros and cons, I purchased my mbw nearly two years ago and at that time they were just released so there was no where near the selection different of lvs to choose from as there is now. I enjoy modding my watches so over that time have changed the insert, dial, date wheel, knock off the cyclops and reattach it to the crystal over new date window position.... and now thinking about drilling out the case tube hole and retaping it to use a gen crown and tube! Ahhh its all good fun! I dont know if they have changed them but the rings around the markers were to fat and the m in 300m was in bold, I posted mine in the rolex gallery a few weeks ago with a better dial. I just enjoy trying to get them as close as I can.... even though I readily admit to my watches being a reps
  2. Its a speedy weekend!
  3. The good mbws have the best case and correct placement of the date window and cyclops but the rest of the dial is not quite as good, also the etching on the crystal is much better.
  4. Have this on today,
  5. I also am curious about how you went with the retap. I also have an older mbw LV which like tribal said has a smaller tube hole in the case and would like to drill it out and retap at some stage. Great job!
  6. Awesome job I love the cgs and the more rounded edges on the case, really helps with the vintage look, nice one.
  7. you and me both
  8. I think you can afford it
  9. I think it might have been from these guys time holder
  10. To me the UK version was much funnier than the US one but then I am a fan of most British comedies especially stuff like allan partridge, big train, spaced etc, maybe it comes from being in a colony!

Hey Rob, The post is not stuck to the gear its just the way I photographed it, sorry I didnt explain that very well. I just didnt want to try and force the post in as I am sure you know they are very small and easily damaged and wondered best way to get one back in? I will have a look over the weekend and let you know how I go.

    2892 probs

Hey Rob, My 007 bond omega started having problems setting the hands where it got to the point they would not set at all. I pulled it apart and it seems a post has come off the main plate. Here is the movement close up of the hole and the gear with the post still in in it. What happens now is that when you go to set the hands the gear moves back and disengages as the post wont hold it in place. I have stripped and cleaned movements but have never had a post come out of the main plate before so thought I would check in first. Could it be pressed back or do I have to get another main plate?
  15. Best comparision post I have seen, great details and close ups of the gen.
  16. Starting the week green.
  17. I had one of the indian ones, it did not fit and was pure crap, chuck it and invest in a better one.
  18. Ta Ubi, I think its a bigger improvement than the crown and tube cosmetically.
  19. I will be wearing this... again
  20. I have always had a soft spot for this one as it was one of my first purchases.
  21. Will be wearing this all weekend
  22. Hey Palp, My deepest condolences about your loss, glad to see your getting back amongst it gradually.
  23. I have not done it on one of these but it would be the circumference, I did it on a rollie dial with a hand file taking it slow and checking progress regularly.
  24. Where are you guys sourcing them from? I bought one a few months ago from here timeman (scroll down the page a bit) but some said it wasnt so super.
