A gen eta 2836-2 fits perfect in that case. With a raffles ring. I'm very upset because after reshaping the lugs and fitting the TC v3 perfectly. The Clark's bezel pops off the insert. Same thing with a gen. 90% done! But couldn't take it on the trip.
I have always loved the idea of sourcing watches from your birth year etc. 1973 is a toughie though. The Tudor 7159 is a favorite as well as maybe a 6263 and of course a SD
That is what I have read in the past before as well. Those gaskets when used in other brands are friction seal gaskets. You need to create that mechanical seal sort of speak. Recently I have read a few posts where people are applying a bit of silicone to the gasket(cannot find them now though)
CT, I will send you pictures of the pearls tomorrow.
The movements with the correct movement ring should be no problem. I hope.
Stupid question, is anyone using silicone grease for the crystal gaskets, or just sliding it dry?( no pun)

I wanted to ask you Stilty about the choice for the 2892 movement. How did you use the Gen date wheel on there? how was the stem height/angle say compared to a 2824?
Thanks for sharing.

While using the ST case for a 16800 build I wonder what right movement to use would be. I have a 2879, 2836-2 and a 2824-2 all gen. I want perfect stem height as well as good fit of dial to rehaut and movement ring(as I'm not using a gen movement. E
The ST crystal ring is a [censored] to press in. Gen gasket, Clark's or their (ST) still no go.
Hh, I still have to get to you about the other case btw.

I would play with different gaskets. I'm getting a ST case for the 16800 build which was supposed to be a birthday present to wear today, but things come together in due time. Red thanks for all the great comparisons btw. E
All great watches. The gwsd is the best of both worlds and always a classic. Good on any type of suit(wetsuit or dress) and looks great with a pair of jeans as well. Mbw is the way to go. Get the Asian 2836 and save money for something else. The a2836 is a great movement for the money. E Eric, where were you surfing at?
I wish they were. These I bought(hate to admit) from WSO. We shall see how good or bad they are.
BTW, I'm home now. Took all weekend for the certs. Water logged as mo-fo though. I missed being in the water. I took the SSD v2 case with a DG movement and plain dial just to see if the WR was there. i have to say the watch is better under water than my 7002 that I was using for the first two days. doesn't feel too heavy or too light. The bezel stays put and took more than a few tan hits. Visibility under water was insane also. I Super lumed the sterile dial a month back and had matching hands. I really just wanted to test the case and setup. BTW, TC's bracelets are THA BOMB!!!
Back to your regular scheduled post.
