  1. A bit off topic, but I'm shopping for a PLO too. Can the clasp off the rubber strap fit a mesh bracelet? If I went with an aftermarket mesh (since my wrist is tok small) can I re-use the clasp from the rubber (pictured above)?
  2. Just walked passed the Omega store at my local mall and fell in love with the white Ploprof on mesh. First, after looking at the dealers, their Ploprofs say the mesh bracelet is not adjustable. Is this true? I don't like the rubber and have a small wrist (6.5"). Second, what is the best version of the white dial? Do all the functions work (bezel lock)? What are my options if I want the mesh? Do I have to consider an OEM mesh or are there other alternatives? Thanks in advance.
  3. I can't decide... 312 or 359 I'm thinking 359 because the 312 dial is similar to my 112,, 176, 177 & 219.
  4. Wow do I love them!!!
  5. AH, I wanted to bid $30! $300 can get me at least 10 rep subs! No seriously, $300 is my bid.
  6. Bill is an excellent man and RWG member, its been great chatting with him over the past few days about these vintage Rolex pieces. With that said, I will place a bid. $300
  7. :bounce: That is awesome! I love it!
  8. Yes, I am just worried about going from a Seawolf/Skyland to a Sub/Sea-Dweller, but not the oposite. I can always put a larger watch on my wrist, its when you put a smaller one on after a larger one that always gets me. I picked up a moded LV Sub for about a hundred bucks yesterday to see if the size is even going to work and/or I even wear it enough to spend some big bucks on a vintage DRSD/SD/Sub. I also told Bill to hang onto one for me for a few weeks so I can see if I like the style/size, I really hope he does becasue I really would love to own one of his beautiful vintage pieces.
  9. Looks amazing on the black carbon. Panatime.com has some very nice carbon straps, i've had a bunch of them.
  10. Where can I find a Seagull ST-36 movement? I have been dying to swap this movement out of my 318 because of how noisy it is. What other branded or sterile movements can be used that are less noisy?
  11. YES, just found photos of a 1665 DRSD, thats it, thats what I want. (DRSD stands for 'Double Red Sea-Dweller' correct?) So before I spend the big bucks on one, I just picked up a used noob SD for a hundred bucks to make sure I will like the size and style. If I do like it, I will sell that as well as a Panerai or two and pickup a nice vintage DRSD. Im excited I finally found what I want. Now let the addiction begin. Thanks guys!
  12. I am not limited to a certain size, I am just accustomed to these 44mm+ Pams and Lings. After looking at photos of different models, I think a Submariner or Sea-Dweller is what I am going to look for. I like the idea of the "double red sea-dweller", now just need to find one.
  13. Bill, thank you for all your help and information, I can honestly say I do not feel sheltered anymore with Rolex. As far as wanting a "larger" piece, I know the Rolex brand is all about the sleek elegant watch case. And I am okay with that because that is their style and that is why I want to "try" a Rolex out before spending $500+ on a nice vintage piece. So with that said, what are the 'larger' vintage pieces? The GMTs are very slim, so are some of the subs thicker?
  14. I am sure you guys see this all the time over here in the Rolex section, I never visit so I am sorry if this is always brought up. The first watch that got me into the rep game (back in 1999) was a Rolex DayDate at a flea-market that I wore for years until it broke, but that was my FIRST and ONLY Rolex I've ever owned. I am a die-hard Breitling and Panerai fan, and have been buying/selling them for years. The thing I have against Rolex is the size. I feel like 39mm and 40mm are too small for me even though I have a 6.4" wrist. Another thing I am unsure of is the different abbrivations and model numbers I see flying around here, which confuses me and I dont know what is what. So I have been kicking the idea around to pickup a Rolex to add to my collection but since I am not familiar with the brand, I dont know what to look at. I also dont know if I will wear it enough and it might be a 'catch-n-release' so I dont want to spend a fortune YET. And I know you get what you pay for in this hobby. With that said... I think I want to go with a vintage piece. I love the yellow-ish dial markers, I love the 'red' writing on the dials, and I LOVE the rivet bracelet. But on the other side of things, I do like the current models produced by the noob factory. Someone please chime in and help this Rolex rookie! Thanks in advance fellas!
  15. Side-by-side gen on left, rep on right (the color is off due to the lighting conditions when taking the photos) Now I am no expert, but right off the bat you can notice the font is bolder on the gen and the "L SWISS MADE L" is too wide on the rep. But the crown looks close to the case on the gen.
  16. My buddy picked one of these up last month and ever since I've been hunting for one. I finally found one on WUS last week and just got it today. It wears so comfortable even though its 48mm, its just so light! I took the rubber strap off and threw on a nice vintage ammo strap with a thick Ti buckle before it even hit my wrist. Some specs-- Case: Titanium Diameter: 48 mm Thickness: 15 mm Lug width: 24 mm Case Back: Numbered limited edition screw-back Crystal: Sapphire with double AR Movement: Selita SW 200 automatic movement Functions: Hours, minutes, seconds and date (at 4 o'clock position) Water Resistant: 10 ATM I will take some better pics when I get home, but here are some quickies with my iPhone.
  17. Looks great, just wish they would make the cutouts deeper! It can be achieved by just making the top plate a few mm thicker. Other than that, looks great! First 026 i've seen pictured (other than QC pics). I really like it on the orange toad strap, the contrast between the case and the strap set the whole thing off. Wish I was a lefty, I would pick one of these up in a heart beat, but 1 destro is enough for me (219).
  18. Thats what I was thinking, if they just made the top plate just a little thicker it would give the cutouts more depth.
  19. Absolutely, thats why I am keeping it as is, I am not going to rip it apart and use the case as I originally planned. It just sucks that it happened within hours of receiving it.
  20. Not sure if this is correct, but I was reading that the gen bottom plate has a "recess" in it for the lume to lay into, and it gives the effect of a thicker top plate.
  21. I think I need one of these. After wearing this 219 around for the past 24 hours, I really dont mind the destro style.
  22. So I ordered up a 219L from Angus to use only the case/crystal for a 112 build. It just came in the mail yesterday and like every new watch I get, I have to put it on my wrist the minute I open it. I had a video shoot at the studio and decided to wear the 219. Well soon as I got into the car I took it off my wrist to adjust the time to be spot on with my phone. Inbetween that and a doobie I forgot to put it back on my wrist and got out of the car and heard it hit the asphalt hard. I was driving my Jeep so I sit up a little higher than a car....so my week long wait to get this thing so I can send it out to Rex and use it as a donor is now delayed again. Its really not that bad, just a few knicks in the case on the side and one or two scratches/knicks on the bezel. Surprisingly the cg and crystal are unharmed (and I noticed it fall and flip onto the crystal) Looks like I am no longer using it for the case/crystal. I am going to order another one and keep this one and wear it as a 'beater'. Onto some pictures from my iPhone. Gotta add a beauty shot of this thing while im here...
  23. EMS delivered my 219L today so I have to wear it out tonight!
