There are a lot of SD threads lately...but I'll help you out. Not sure how much and how far you want to go so I'll list all possible mods that I know of for this watch. Replace pearl with gen or good afternarket Gen crown and tube mod 93160a tc bracelet Maybe replace the crystal with a nice aftermarket Trim crown guards Enjoy

Best out of the box rep of the SSD is currently the ultimate SSD from the TDs but be prepared to change inserts

I noticed that the lugs are not the same width and one side seems noticeably larger and the shape of the case seems off...crown guards are funny indeed. I'd say wait for something better to come along

I have a SSD in the process of being built and was wondering if the hands that are super luminova would transfer off of the asian 21j movement on to a ETA 2836-2 swiss movement. I could use these hands and have this build done or I need to buy a new set of hands that are SL and in that case where do you buy already SL hands for this watch...are the hands off the SSD the same as the 16610?

I would use a clarks, or sean bezel to correct the teeth issue, BK DWO will correct the left tendencies of the DW, the crystal should be replaced with gen if possible if not clarks has the best date mag/centered cyclops, the insert I would always go gen with cause to this date I still have not seen them finish the pearl as close as gen has it. personally I don't care how amazing it is out of the box its gonna get gen parts installed cause gen is gen no matter what

hand rotation is opposite on a 3135. and on a 3035 the hands go the same way but the date changes in the opposite direction.

Yes but you will need some mods. I have one undergoing a gen insert, crown and tube. also get with TC on his bracelet and your gonna have a great looking SD

Gen 16610 bezel retaining rings is a huge one. I never see them for sale! I got extremely lucky and got one cheap off the bay from a highly rated seller

No if your using 3135 or clone 3135 you need a tc or Sean case

I got the insert off the watch with out removing the bezel. Now what's the best way to install it as it seems bigger then the insert I removed. Would I shave down the insert or shave down the bezel? How have you guys done it?
