They are supposedly a Swiss watch brand that has been around since 1881, but i never heard of them I must say though, i kinda like how their Challenger 300m water resistant watches look I found out about them by looking through OceanicTime blog
-
Regarding actually owning any genuine watches, i have 2 The significant one being my Avenger II Seawolf And that was why i joined WUS, because i was looking at buying one and considered their M2M section (ended up getting a super Amazing deal on eBay, which thanks to my knowledge from rep forums i knew was gen). its not like i thought of joining just to discuss how good reps have gotten And i will be super careful with posting on there as i know a few things they hate and some of them are complete assholes
-
Well after the topic on WUS went on for a few days it seems a few people were complete Assholes upon one person pointing out im a member here, an equal amount were of the opinion that i wasn't doing any harm and had no ill intent. No doubt theres a silent majority that didn't want to touch the topic, watching without posting anything. And it wasn't because i had ever bought a rep advertised as a gen, i just thought that if i was looking to buy a 9300 caliber Omega i would have hated to be scammed since the differences between the newest reps and the gens are closing. Lesson learned, never warn those guys of anything, let them get scammed if they are gullible enough to not make sure they are getting a genuine 9300 caliber Omega (or any other watch from any brand for that matter) After all, i do nothing wrong and some still try there best to throw me out the door? No more help from me, they are on their own.
-
Surprisingly they didn't ban me, i guess they don't want the reputation of the forum to be that they are that tight as to ban people that have done no wrong. Still, now i know to tread super lightly, or else next time i may get banned just because they know im a member here.
-
If they are "replicas of sane, reasonable people" they are clearly not very good replicas of sane, reasonable people
-
I wasn't posting pictures or links to anything rep related, i wasn't even glorifying reps..
-
I made a topic on WUS telling people to be careful when buying an Omega with the 9300 caliber movement as there are new reps out of that model with full decorations. a couple of their members had to bring into question how I would know such a thing and one of them even brought up how I'm a member here. i didn't break their rules and so I did nothing wrong, I don't see how being a member here and on WUS is wrong, or even connected. see my point now?
-
Apparently the members of WUS have great hate for anybody belonging to rep forums, even before anybody does anything wrong. I get that some people; no doubt a very small amount buy reps to try to sell them as a gen. But to automatically assume ill intent when no rules were broken? What Assholes. My bad for being too lazy to have different usernames on different forums.

dont you hate the watch snobs on the gen forums?

Yeah, it does always seem to be Rolex freaks, like i get the designs are nice (according to seemingly almost everyone), and its nice that the whole watch is in house, as opposed to getting a movement from someone else and making it better But i find the prices are too high for what you get, theres way too many homages, and their size definitions are decades outdated All in all, just not a brand worth 3x what you may have to pay for an established Swiss watch brand making quality watches (even if they aren't made 100% in house) Now if Rolex had real modern size watches and wasn't 3x what they should cost, id probably have a lot more love for them -
Like the ones that like to compare a watch with one that costs 3x as much. Like really, who thinks thats a fair comparison?

am i the only one bored of what the factories rep?
tyrantblade replied to tyrantblade's topic in General Discussion
Well aside from Breitling everything i would want repped would have to be upsized (i like 43-45.5mm in full SS the best) And by everything, there are only 2 models i can think of right off the top of my head that interest me The Zenith "El Primero" "tricolor" and the newest GMT Master 2 Pepsi (because the colors they made the ceramic in look amazing) I mean, id also like the updated AP ROO black themes (with red accents), an SOSF blue or black dial full SS, and an 8500 generation PO rep (maybe the 9300 as well with the new decorated rep movement, which looks close to gen) But no hurry on what they already have -
And what they seem interest in repping? Its not a case of having "everything" For me (i have 2 watches right now, both are Gens, one cheap seiko "New Monster" and one gen Breitling (my Avenger II Seawolf, which i got at a steal and may never sell even if it just sits in its box)) Its simply a case of many things that im not attracted to, and not liking whats out there enough to spend money on it so soon Granted there are a few reps readily available that i probably will buy, just not anytime soon Its a pretty simple case of having better things to spend money on (mostly out of necessity, like weeks/months when im broke), the most important thing being getting 2 (teeth) implants, after my braces come off (be glad to talk about that in private messages if anybody wants to) But yeah, anybody else in a similar mindset (regardless of why) about being bored with what is already available and what will be (probably) available in the future?
-
Unless it were a special limited edition (like the expensive-ish limited edition Seiko Sumos, first only available in certain countries) or a GS (i would buy a Marine Master rep if done good) there wouldn't be much sense in repping Seiko
-
Ill take a pass on both (if you really care to talk about me, i will glady communicate by PM) but $1200 is a great amount of savings regardless
-
Well for $1200 difference between the one i bought and the cheapest yellow dial i could get with box, papers, and warranty (gray market price is basically the same right now as prices have gone up), of course i couldnt pass this one up It will definitely remain as a keeper no matter what
-
Its not gonna be like last time, now i have my (almost) grail, and have no reason to go crazy like before
-
To each his own, but i could not get with that generation Seawolf, to me it looks like a vintage/modern hybrid, whereas the Avenger II Seawolf looks modern all the way, the feeling of having a nice gen is well worth the cost when there is no rep available of what you want And on that note, i only paid $2000, which is a steal for BNIB, with papers and warranty, straight from an AD, don't know if such a deal will happen again.
-
I doubt i will ever sell it, i like it too much, only way i might sell it is if i ended up buying the Avenger II GMT version of it (less WR, smaller, has GMT function) Also there magic in the Pearl, some people seem to hate that they increased the pearl size, but they also made it where the pearl looks different in color and size at different angles
-
Not the Cobra Yellow I initially wanted, but had to jump on a phenomenal deal
-
Wish i could say its been fun, but that would be lying to all you guys as well as myself, it was destined to not work to begin with because its Breitling and clearly you are all Breitling haters, if it was a Rolex or Pam things would of probably worked out, have fun discussing the difference from the v19 sub to the v20 sub,or whatever the PAM equivalent is (if rolex isnt boring and understated enough)
-
Well i certainly wasn't expecting for everyone to just accept my apology, hell, i don't care if everyone does, i simply wanted to apologize for going way overboard Ive done my part, not sure what everyone wants me to do, i would love to help the forum (like maybe providing a raffle prize) when the time is right, but again, i feel that may be a while, no sense in helping the forum if it gets me farther from my end goal I don't expect this future offer to grant me a longer stay though, and certainly don't want anything positive i could do come across as "buying redemption"
-
Im sorry that i kept posting about the same watch and got some of you so mad I have my reasons, which i don't want to post as for some of you it will probably sound like a bunch of excuses, even though my reasons are quite legit Suffice to say you have to give some of the blame to "Nikki6" for putting wrong information out there, which is what "fueled the fire" so to speak I truly meant to stay away from the forums until i have the watch i want in hand If you guys will allow me to stay, i will go back to this game plan, with the exception of answering messages if anyone wants to hear what my reasons are, so expect that i will post nothing for a while, possibly months; i get that you all probably think i wont be able to, but this is the plan i want to stick to and will give it my best. Im not saying i didn't deserve any of the responses i got and certainly don't expect anybody to apologize back to me

Its special because its how the Avenger Seawolf is meant to be, its the Avenger 1 Seawolf evolved into a real awesome looking modern dive watch The Avenger 1 Seawolf looks like a half vintage, half modern hybrid -
Well its a mechanical automatic movement watch, and its a good looking dive watch, so yes

Im saying what the rep factories call the "v2" is simply an "updated" version of the Avenger 1 Seawolf As for what people call an Avenger Seawolf 2, or simply a Seawolf 2, that may or may not be the Avenger II Seawolf All that matters is there is no fuvking rep of the Avenger II Seawolf (which is the proper name), anybody that isn't majorly blind or retarded would know that As i have said, the rep that is available just doesnt appeal to me, whereas the Avenger II Seawolf does, i don't mind the pearl on the reps they have available but what i can't stand is the font of the numbers on the dial, how they look like they could very well belong on a vintage or vintage inspired watch And lastly the dial colors they chose for the Avenger 1 Seawolf are too understated; like whatever that pale black color is called (not "Volcano" black), or whatever they called the previous yellow (not "Cobra" yellow) There are more differences than that and what the factory called a v2 (as again its a fuvking Avenger 1 Seawolf, not an Avenger II Seawolf), but the reasons listed above are the main ones for me Does this sound like fuvking english to anybody? im sure hoping not everyone thinks the "v2" is even close to the Avenger II Seawolf, since the Avenger II Seawolf wasn't around until years later, and so the "v2" was an "updated" Avenger 1 Seawolf rep, put out as a v2 to get more peoples money with little to no real differences between it and the v1, if it worked, it would be just like with Rolex reps, there would be a v5 or v6 or whatever by now, but there probably still wouldn't be an Avenger II Seawolf as the factories only seem to want to rep different watches if its a SevenFriday or Dietrich, which are the definition of ugly
