  1. Hi Pete - I can look at it for you if you are in europe or send it to The Zigmeister if yo are in the US or nearby.
  2. I'm totally with you there buddy!!!
  3. Actually I should point out that there is nothing wrong with it's [censored] - so to speak - and there never was. This has a PALLET BRIDGE (which is the 2 screws plate under the balance wheel) rather then the newer PALLET [censored] - neither of these are faulty just a desigh difference. The fault is with the positioning of the balance spring relative to the BALANCE [censored] and since this has an asian balance wheel then it could have the same problem as the newer G series movt. So many cocks!!
  4. Ahhhhh - the 616 - I have 2 of them in my vintage babies!!! 618 would be the dogs nuts though!!
  5. Gosh another temptation away from PAM's!!! The DeWitts are also a nice piece and slightly similar. Was just looking/drooling at the gens the other day in my local watchstore.
  6. I have a Cortebert 592R for sale if anyone wants to buy it!!
  7. OK - it's a little magnetic rotor that keeps the movt rotor spinning round to keep the watch wound!!!
  8. I guess you have hooked that microphone up to a PC to check the watch timing!!
  9. You can buy these screws and the clamps from any watch suppliers like O'Frei in the US or Cousins in the UK.
  10. Watches.co.uk are a legit site and the advertise in a lot of magazines etc - I doubt you will get a very good price from them though.
  11. Wel the other one I got to handle was a PAM 140 (yellow gold with carbon fibre dial) and this was almost as bad but not as bad!! The 086 was a regular wearer for the owner so may just have worn!! I have sectional drawings showing a CG parts diagram and there certainly is some sort of sleeve around the pin so Jimmy's are certainly more close to a brand new gen (far from ripping them off I have just taken delivery of fresh ones!!!).
  12. Those are absolutely superb - congratulations.
  13. Paul (Green Rolex) has them but I cannot find his website - Veni knows for sure.
  14. Probably works for Watches of Switzerland which is why he would have no idea about the real thing!!!
  15. The letters are self adhesive so you can gently move them around using something like a toothpick to slide them.
  16. I have had countless packages come through fine - even one that was opened for inspection by HMC still came through!!
  17. This is not a simple case of painting it on. The Lume comes as a powder and 2 liquids. One liquid is a sprirt based varnish and is mixed 1:1 by volume with the powder. The other liquid is a dilutor which then allows control of the lume mix. I would say that it is like a honey sort of consistency and ofcourse you have to be really careful not to get overspill as the solvent based varnish will remove the paint from the dial - good luck - you'll need it!!
  18. That's right Chronus - it's a 7750 in there - you should get more sleep!!
  19. I had the fortune to handle a gen PAM 86 yesterday belonging to a friend so was able to really have a good look a it and to my suprise the CG lever was all loose and wobbly and hardly pressed the crown against the case at all when shut - so much so I had to look really close to make sure it was a gen (of course it was as they have not repped this one yet). When we review reps and complain about the CG's we have got it all wrong!! So now I will have to rip all the Jimmy's CG's off and put the rep ones back on!!!
  20. That didn't really make a lot of sense did it!! I forgot to paste the link for the item on the bay. It was the big black and white brochure/book that Panerai gave away this year and it was on a buy now for $125. Now I cannot find it so I suspect it has sold!!!
  21. And if your used to PAM's they just seem tiny!!
  22. What - like this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A%3AIT&rd=1
  23. Jeez, I walked into the Wempe store in Berlin earlier this year and asked if they had any Panerai Literature - yes they said and gave me that free!!!!!
  24. Duh!! What's an 85L - is that a Leitz f1.2 - it is isn't it!!! Oh damn that reminds me of my lovely old M2 that I should never have got rid of!!! No problem to transfer the datewheel to Admin.
  25. The stick on letters of the asian are really crap. When working on these movts it's really easy to dislodge them. That newer version looks much better but why do they still use the sandard ETA shaped regulateur pointer!!!!!
