There might be a group but soon so I will have Z ask how much for the 6541 case. I have no idea what the dial sizes are... You can research that.
-
Awesome collection! Very extensive. I love them all, I can't tell which other than the 1675 and daydate are gen but you have a very very nice group. I think you might need a 6538 soon
-
I'm not really sure why you are making things hard on yourself, Natalie has the case http://ndtradingcorp.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=173 If you want a 6541 then buy that case, not a 6538 case... and your dial will fit no problem. The earliest 6541's came with the solid bezel that you like, but most with the turning bezel. If you want a 1019 dial look on vrm there are a few. But focus on one thing and try to execute it in the easiest way
-
The case you're using is 36mm it won't work for the dial you have. If you want a vintage milgauss with a smooth bezel why not the 1019? You can find the gen dial for a fairly reasonable price. The build is kind of impossible with what you have. I would start selling off what you have and buy the stuff you need slowly.

Ndt dials are not 100% original refinished. And you can't call them gen. You can't even call them refinished

"The 1680 is a pity because it has a mk1 crown with mk2 text and the word "submariner" in a mk2 must be printed in red over white (the mk1 was printed only in red" Thanks, I didn't notice that. That is a shame!
-
So I checked up on these dial variations and from what I can see the red sub is a mark 2 and the drsd is a mark 4, the coronet looks about right for a mark 4.
-
Done, thanks Admin for all the hard work!
-
I agree that the sd crown looks funny, maybe that was a variation?

I don't know why they cost so much aside from the plate used.. The 6538 dial that he's making for me is 875£ but that's a gilt dial with a difficult process.

Hey guys, I'm making a 4 line 6538 dial with my new dial maker and he mentioned that he has a couple of dials for sale. One is a double red and one is a red sub. I don't know if they look good or not because I have no idea what they should look like. Anyhow 750£ each, I know I know, it's a lot of money. They are made using original plates. Just an offer..

Thanks, the reason it holds up is because it's under a layer of lacquer. If this was a printed dial it wouldn't have worked. I kind of thought it would be ok as long as I was gentle

I picked up this old 6536-1 dial from vrm last week partly because the seller called it ugly and partly because it was cheap. Anyhow it ended up being pretty bad in person. I have heard back from 2 dial restoration company's, Kirk rich being one of them and Bob Ridley the other. They both said that after inspecting the pictures I provided that the dial was beyond a good cleaning.. It would have to be redone. I asked if there was any way to save the dial and just clean the crud off because I like the dial itself. The answer I got was no, the dial would be ruined in the process of cleaning it. The crud was too 'baked' on in their opinion's. So I decided to try cleaning it myself. I figured the worst that would happen is that I would ruin it and just have it redone. I took some canola oil which was the only oil I had, and gently covered the dial with it. Slowly but surely the "stuff" would loosen up and with the help of a handful of qtips I managed to get it all off!! It took a few hours but now it's all gone and the dial looks much better. I had no idea that it would work but I'm so glad that it did. Now to find a case and all the rest. The pics are mixed up but I'm sure you can tell which are before and after

No lol, not even close

I'm a big dog lover, I have 2, so I can relate to the bond but I can't possibly imagine just how strong it must be for them. Hats off to the dogs and their human leaders, I have so much respect for them. Thanks again for sharing. And yes, I saw all of that in the doc, injuries, frostbite, and so much more. It's absolutely amazing to see. The guy in the phot was the guy that won I think, he's a machine.. He would get up and head out on 2 hrs of sleep, the others couldn't keep up

Thanks for sharing, I can't believe how brave these guys are, risking their health for a race. Amazing. I saw a documentary about the ididarod, not many finished and those that did, were doing it on sheer willpower, I couldn't believe what it took.
-
Amazing! N is that the ididarod or just a local race?

-
Yes, I can do that

Sounds good to me
