  1. You have a way with words, something I'm sure a lot of us feel we just don't know how to say.. Thanks. Very eloquent

    Original?

I emailed the seller about its authenticity and await his response. He is a long time good standing member over there and I have purchased from him before, (bands, parts) so we'll see. I realize that the condition can't determine authenticity on its own and if the things being sold over there aren't as advertised there is a full refund policy stated clearly. Beautiful watches by-tor! Stunning

    Original?

Wow, it's being sold as a genuine untouched 7928 on vrm and nobody said a word about it.. I left a deposit on the entire watch thinking it was a pristine example.. I guess I should cancel, I was soo in love with it, why wouldn't someone over there speak up if its advertised as untouched original and isn't?

I'm jealous, I've never had eau de dead moose! Good you found it before someone got seriously sick.. What a mess that must have been. I think the bears would protect you from the salmon though right?

Wow, between the rushing water, freezing temps, fridge sized boulders and Kung fu salmon, I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed that.. You're a brave man! That poker story is great, another nanuq classic. Too bad it was only for peanuts

What a great story!! I didn't realize that it was done in rivers. I can't imagine doing that in moving water. I thought it was only done in the Bering sea sort of close to shore where the glaciers have been depositing the gold over millions of years. I guess the same concept would apply to certain rivers. Absolutely amazing. That feeling you had at that moment looking at the nugget and realizing that you found a sweet spot as well must have been a great natural high. That's when all that hard work seems worth it I'd imagine.

Not mine but yes it's gorgeous. I wish I could afford one, but with today's prices that are only going up, they aren't very affordable any more. Wow, that's got to be one of my dream adventures. Not sure about full time, very very hard work, but just maybe for one season. That must have been really cool. Too bad you don't have that pic it would have been nice to see! 3.1 ounces is a lot for one piece.

That was nice of her. She knew it would mean more to you than anyone else, and I'm sure it does. Looks superb! I didn't know you we're a diver, now I'm tempted to join you, we could build a dredge and hunt for gold! Lol.
  18. Al, go to the vintage rolex market. They have those exact watches for sale for 2500$ - 2800$ not 3500$.. Ones with gorgeous patina.. http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1350481888/FS-+TUDOR+Submariner+94110+Blue+Snowflake+original+dark+patina+cheap+price+----+USD2450 http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1350408649/FS-+TUDOR+Submariner+94110+Blue+Snowflake+yellow+patina+matt+dial+%28reduced%29+----+USD2850

I don't know about nanuq but ever since I started collecting vintage tudor and rolex, the new ones (sapphire) just don't do it for me anymore. Something missing, not sure what maybe character or uniqueness? There are a few exceptions of course where for instance a sapphire rolex sub with a spider dial or something like that, still manage to have that 'stuff'. All older watches are unique in the way they aged, it gives them all a one of kind of feel. They all have small differences. So for me that's what the newer models lack. Also a scratched up old crystal is way more interesting than a perfectly clear flat piece of glass.. One hell of a birth year watch bud, wear it well.
