Looks like its indeed the case, datewheel spring on the oposit side of the 7753, very clever!

The A7753 datehweel seems to have more width, dont know how to call, but the font can be printed more outwards to accomodate a 7753 genuine dial.

Seems Border Protection and Custom's use the same tape. Cost effective appearantly.
