  1. There is no way to justify that price for a replica unless it has the unerlying value to back up the price, like movement value or precious metal value etc. If its not there it is simply paying for thin air.
  2. Well, all i know is; around 2006 he quit the bussiness for whatever reason.
  3. Same goes for the surplus swiss ETA's The risk is just the same, doesnt matter. The real question in this topic is really, will you invest more first, or further down the line. Either way being a gamble. But thats simply what its boils down to... remember where are talking replica watches.
  4. I think some could, in ways of craftmanship, however problem most likely is with parts. I have one tourby, the one from homer in the days... brandless. It still works perfectly after a few winding turns after almost 2 years. But truth be told i worn it only occasionally.
  5. Looks like a HBB with a Graham like CG. Needless to say, its hidious and awfull, just like the main ingredients .
  6. This looks identical to MBW case, considering the tell tale sine of the pushers on the caseback side.
  7. First of all i haveno uber-mass like BT, dispite knowing what trick hurts like LH, wich actually helped me during some adrenaline type of situations (with special thanks to my buddy who serves the army whi teach me these simple tricks) however i do agree. Some folks just deserve to be beat up. Total disrespect is not to be accepted. Karma will balance things out in the end...
  8. Not a flaw, its a feature of the tricompax A7750.
  9. Funny, but sadly true.
  10. No,i dont think you cant use 36 in 46 assembly, movement wise 36 and 46 are compatible. Individual parts not all. Considering the beat rate of 46 is 21k6 and 36 is 28k8 transplant the balance assembly wont work. Not to worry, 1680 needs 46 above 36 as the beat rate is too high (gen is 19ksomething 6?), anyways 46 is not expensive and on 1680 you not need any high canon pinions, so any movement will do, probably can be had working for 50usd. Hand sizes are exactly the same.
  11. Are you talking about the big bear in front in the jeans skirt?
  12. No, in fact i expect a swish-and-dip at that pricepoint. My point being; For me, and presumably for more people like me, its cheaper to just replace the whole movement, instead of service it.
  13. Here is a manual for 7750 based watches: http://www.marvinwatches.com/uploads/tx_marvincare/ETA_7750_ENG.pdf Also in other languages: http://www.marvinwatches.com/customer-care/instructions-for-use/display/files/movement/eta-7750/ Strangly manual states: Rapid date and day correction is not possible between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. In reality it is possible but you will destroy the date change mechanism. Inbetween 8pm, 2am simply set the time to 12am, then change the date.
  14. I am pleased the a7750 performance of my chronographs, alle eccept one sec at 6 daytona crapped out. I have standard layout a7750 in the so called rose gold naviatimer from EL (2007), stil runs great. But they all are unmodified stock sec's @ nine. I dont service them, i replace them like BT suggests. Service locally is practically impossible where i live unless spending 150 usd or more. I think the risc rises when going to the tri-compax layout and even worse with the seconds hand moved to whatever posistion modification. If you read through the reviews from Zig and Fransisco you will note the mods sometimes have reasonable good design, but can still be faulty because of bad assembly.
  15. Err.... good info but err... very tough cookie to get err.. through
  16. Love the smooth sweeping double dot on your proplof
  17. Lol, that last statement totally discards all credibility of the review.
  18. If its for the movement alone, there are better deals imo. watches with good running movements can be had for around the 700usd mark.
  19. Yes very good, maybe even the best. At first with alle the level [censored] i thought they're taking a [censored] at me, but no, everything explained itself. Probably have to watch the movie twice to truly appriciate it.
  20. In my not so humble opinion there is'nt even space for the HBB on the very uncool section of the cool board
  21. I love it when a plan comes together. All parties involved benefit
  22. Thanks for clarifying, and congrats on getting your piece fixed. Please post a pic.
  23. Does the bezel click? i was under impression the transformer has the wired spring bezel for easy popping, instead of the standard noob spring loaden pin. Like to know if this is the case or not. Agreed the insert is skewed, however my point being the dial is more alinged with the insert vs the true north and site poles of the case.
  24. If its a transformer, there is no click.
  25. Looking at this particular pic i'd say it needs couple degrees of rotation clockwise. The bezel is aligned to the 12 a clock dial marker, but the bezel is not centered.
