  8. OK guys, What desired watch(es) will you never buy the genuine of, and instead will opt to keep, buy or modify the replica counterpart? I think that the replica watch game these days has evolved enough to sufficiently justify this question. The quality and visuals of several rep models have crept close enough to their gen counterparts, and I also personally feel that the rep community is growing at a much more frenetic pace than the ones discussing/trading genuine watches. I do not have any scientific theory to prove or disprove this, but being a guy active on both sides of the watch hobby in general, I feel in general that the replica owners are a lot more knowledgeable and passionate about their watches and of course the mods that can be done to them. Most of the friends whom I made in this hobby are from the replica watch communities. Pardon me, I do digress. To ask the question in another way, what rep watch do you own, that satisfies you enough such that the gen one becomes more or less (though maybe never completely) redundant? I think that a lot of Panerai models (no offense intended toward genuine Panerai collectors) will fall under the category. Maybe the V6 Hublot Big Bangs, and the AP ROO divers. So please feel free to share your opinions and also your collection. This is an open post to all in the community and you can share anything related to the topic. For those of you who bothered to read this far, I am giving out a gift of $50 for the post I like the most, and $25 to the runner up post. This will be paid via paypal at the end of Sep 2018. So bring it on guys! I want to hear from you. @Mike on a bike, @Sogeha @kernow @nikki6
  9. Hello @Bulawayobill and welcome. For starters, you can try these two sites. www.puretime.io www.intime03.co Browse them, and paste a specific link or 2 of what you are looking for. Members here will help where we can if you know what you are asking and if you ask nicely. In here, there is no such thing as the wrong place to be at, but certainly there are right and wrong attitudes/approaches. Enjoy yourself!
  10. hello @Jegypt2 and welcome to RWG. The rep game has evolved to a stage where many reps are visually acceptable. Also, modding reps (especially AP and Rolex) have become a salient part of the hobby. Did you mean the 42mm panda or the 44mm one? Modding will make a world of visual difference for AP ROO reps especially. So yes, save the money and try a modded rep first, and if you really like it, it will not be late to switch to a gen
  11. Yes I have done, for a member here, the ETA movement swap into the miyota case/dial, with all the accompanying mods to hands etc. The caseback of that particular piece was smoked black. The miyota deco plate cannot be re-used after the conversion unfortunately. The ETA2824 also features the non-instant date change though. These days, the most requested mods for the V3 re: caseback thinning, rotor assembly silencing and the mikey dw swap. Check out this thread of a piece modded for member reppin https://forum.replica-watch.info/forum/audemars-piguet-ap/7038740-jf-v3-15400-modded-by-the-legend-with-custom-datewheel
  12. Yes A it’s just a humble little gen. Do you mean you want to mod the 15400 or buy a gen?! I’m sure you’re capable of either and it’ll be nice to know someone with the same watch in the community! Black, white or blue dial? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. btw, I have taken the trouble to remove your personal details, which you had stupidly posted for everyone to see. I really have no idea which is a worse issue for you.. your rudeness or your stupidity. But either way, take a brief time out and you will be back again in a week. And hopefully, be a more polite person then. The guys who dealt with me, mostly remember me as a reasonable guy, and I am willing to help most guys who approach me right. I just want to be treated like how you will like to be treated in communication. But getting a response and not having the time to say even a thank you, but having the time to scuttle like a headless chicken asking for help for the same issue all over the place, means you were not too busy as you claimed to be. I started out being nice to you, and have warned you that you will take a time out from here if you continue being rude to me. Well, your foolishness and ego got the better of you and you persisted. So out you go. I will not take abuse from some ignorant newbie with no manners, knowledge or clue about watches. Seriously, one last thing: If you are here to learn, then learn. If you are here to make enemies, at least have the brains to pick on someone who will actually bother to take your BS. I am not that guy.
  15. upstart: not really. I have been here since 2011. Hardly an upstart. Rude: Yes, but no need to be polite to someone who is ignorant and clueless about manners. Unbecoming: True, where you are concerned. Member: yes. Actually I am and you are not at least for now. Take a week's timeout and return after you have learnt some manners.
  16. @messinapete, I think that being a newbie is fine, but you come across as ungrateful as well as ignorant. You are the reason why newbies are generally ill-regarded and tolerated badly. You sent me a PM which I read and replied, and then I saw that you were off seeking help elsewhere after that, with not even a thank you. It's fine, just a few minutes of my time wasted on a character like you. Do not expect any help from me again, and you are definitely on my ignore list after this message. It is disheartening to see a new guy with such poor manners. Knowledge can be gained over time, but I guess you will never understand how to be polite. Good luck in this hobby, you will just be another faceless ingrate to me from now.

  18. No need to apologies, we all learn and we try! If you really want to keep the watch, it is best to get it serviced. Are you able to at least send a link of the watch you purchased? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. That you’re new is no doubt. And ignorant at that. You have no clue that the new Asian clone movements can work well, or that Swiss movements can be prone to issues as well. Well not go the whole hog and ask for Swiss replicas instead you fool? And oh, one more time you post “sfs” on sales threads, you’re out of here. Being new is fine. But don’t spam relentlessly, it’s annoying especially when you’re expecting everyone to understand your stupid acronyms. Since you like acronyms so much, this one is for you: gfy. 20. Firstly Please refrain from referring to watches as AAA or AA or such grades. These are meaningless and given by the factories who produce them, not any recognized independent grading bodies. It is far more useful to refer to the watches by the factory, version and movement type so that known issues with the model type can be identified and advised. If it’s an A7750 sec@6, chances are the movement is dry and has a lot of friction at the transfer gears, causing it to stop intermittently. Without examining the movement, no diagnosis is possible. 24. If that is the inner packing, it is perfectly acceptable. What was being discussed was the way the package was packed overall. If Dtime pasted an address label on what you showed and shipped them like that, for example, it will be newsworthy. Else, I do not see anything abnormal or exceptional about the way your watches were packed.
