Accuracy was on par with the Nautilus in my opinion. There were some errors but, like most MBK, I recall the quality was good. I have seen only one person on the forums with this watch, so in terms of exclusivity, it is a good choice. I, personally, despise absolutely everything about the Aquanaut - in my opinion it is absolutely foul and horrendous looking and I certainly won't pay $400 just because it is a Patek rep from MBK. The Nautilus is more than I need to be satisfied, really.

Ahead of schedule? Lazy Monday? This calls for a celebration. Nothing like a manual-wind piece for those quiet relaxing days; and this is one of my favorites - the classic tourbillon. A "must have" for every collection.

Hi blippy, Interesting question. Patek is actually my favorite brand, and I was just as shocked as you to discover the many inaccuracies plaguing the available reps. Although high in amount, the majority of them do not even come near to the original design. There are a few models that are somewhat close to their gen counterparts (5119,5070,5130, 5002 sort of, 5165 come to mind right away) But these are definitely not perfect, and any connoisseur could call out the owner instantly. I'm not sure why they are so unavailable, but I think it has something to do with the exclusivity of the brand and the complicated nature of the watches. There are very few people who can actually afford the genuines, so reps will usually be perceived as bogus from the general public simply because "nobody can afford a patek". Most rep buyers want to get a watch with some believability factor, meaning something they could actually afford in genuine iteration. A Patek won't cut it for most - unless they sell their home or car. I have been waiting and waiting for a good Patek "super rep" but I think we just have to agree it ain't going to come. For lovers of the brand on a budget, the Nautilus and Aquanaut from MBK will just have to suffice for now.

The questions are not logical...

This thread is a must-read for all newbies with obscene expectations for their reps. I am feeling so good about my slightly crooked date mag now! I bet there are even gen pateks that slip through the cracks and have some kind of issue...

Homer's tourbillon is $600; so you want a genuine model good enough to get married in for less? Like a tourbillon but without the tourbillon? I think your SOL if this is really your critera- Homer's tourbillon is very elegant and an amazing deal either way.

That Rose Gold Lange is majestic... any more shots of the Hermes briefcase? What's it like inside?

Caution - Chieftang AR can cause damage to your watch.
Corgi replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
I am definitely going to have to get one of my pieces AR'd by chieftang (or k2222) because I am bombarded with praise about these on a daily basis... but which one?? -
I remember the topic about these watches... the boobie jokes were endless.

I don't think the watches are "gay"; I think they are just stupid products of lousy marketing decisions.

Here are my two most favored brown watches:

I wonder if this uses the timebomb Daytona S@6 movement or if its a reworked version. If it is the latter, then we can expect a reliable Daytona to be released any day now. Fingers crossed.

If I was going to spend $50,000+ for a tourbillon you can bet this would be the very last thing I consider. Bell & Ross is a tough, hard-knocks "military" style watch brand and in my opinion trying to do this fancy, dainty haute horlogerie stuff is skewing their image. Leave the tourbillons to the professionals Bell & Ross..

Yes its true, the last time I went into an AD wearing a rep the salesperson just pulled a machine gun from underneath the counter and started to fire blindly into the ceiling...

Lots of people wearing zingers today! This weekend I am on-duty running all over town for a client... so I have to look professional:

oh my! looks like someone had a productive day at the shopping plaza

Cronsell's Official Wedding Wrist Shot Extravaganza!

Citizen has a minute repeater model... goes for $300-$700 depending on color only. I considered buying it but once again, faky gold and quartz is not worth the cash... no way

Why would they make an exhibition tourbillon and then cover half of it with a big loop? Honestly I will never know..
-
oh no! I guess the good news is it didn't explode in a public place, or during a tense business meeting permanently embedding shards of glass in one of your coworkers' or superiors' eye sockets.

Shipping back: $25 Shipping from: $25 ..so for $50 and a lot of customs worry you can get this replaced. My advice? Buy yourself another $100 watch from a RELIABLE COLLECTOR (like Narikaa) and use this one as your beater for when you have to do something active, or it's very rainy outside. I would not bother at all with the waiting and pain of sending it back - just never do business with the scumbag who sold you this garbage and switch to a dealer you can trust. PM me for more info if you need it I'll be happy to help.

Mis-spelled Maurice Lacroix on the bay (damgaged tho)
Corgi replied to llsteve80's topic in Other Brands Area
I'm confused somebody is willing to sell you a watch encrusted with 50 genuine 0.835ct diamonds for $129... It seems like if the seller just took a knife and cut the diamonds out to sell them privately it would net a better deal by far! Not to mention selling the movement, buckle, and the rest of the jazz... if it is one of those "once in a lifetime" "miracle buys" then congratulations... but I would be skeptical myself. -
This Blancpain might be a rare replica, but its nothing special - unlike some of the other gems presented in this thread. Actually, while I have always lusted for a Blanc, this is far from something that would satisfy me even if it was released in the mainstream.
