  1. I agree. Two great traditional "Original Six" teams who have mutual respect for eachother. Nice to see Chara and Toews shaking hand after the game... Chara really punished him throughout the series. Patrick Kane is still a classless little puke though.
  2. Gary Buttman didn't get quite as many boos from the crowd as usual.
  3. That ending was quite a stunner. 2 goals in 17 seconds. Wow. http://espn.go.com/
  4. This definitely has very unique design. The red dial really "stands out" if not anything else. I remember when these reps surfaced. They're pretty good. And as you said it will probably never be available again.
  5. OMG, they have found Liberace's old AP! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Audemars-Piguet-Royal-OAK-Offshore-Chronograph-Ref-26067OR-ZZ-D002CR-01-/111103121437?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item19de43181d
  6. Most of the older 16710's have the standard font now as well. When they had been taken to to service (past 2002 or so) Rolex replaced the worn inserts with the new ones (with the standard font). PS: Must-read articles for all GMT fans. http://www.doubleredseadweller.com/watch-info/gmt/evolution-of-the-gmt.html http://www.doubleredseadweller.com/watch-info/gmt/gmt-in-transition.html
  7. @SSTEEL: Your example is a 16710, not 1675. But there's surprisingly many differences between gen bezel inserts. For example early 16710's came with the Serif bezel insert font. But anything after K-serial has a standard, non-Serif font.
  8. Lots of other amazing Rolex eyecandy there too. Top Notch Watch Ebay Site
  9. Can't verify it, either... but it looks too good to be fake.
  10. Fresh pic from the wrist... just shot this. View from the roof window of my house.
  11. We don't ban people for having a bad hair day. Just forget about it and return to watch discussion. Thanks. Problem solved. And thread closed.
  12. I've never had a problem with a high beat 7750, either. Never. The old low beat version was different... members had constant problems with it. Old Regattas might have had that one inside? Just guessing as it's an old rep model. But then I don't know anything about Panerai (rep or gen).
  13. Okay... the new Noob Explorer II got me thinking to get another white dial. Sold my franken ExpII a long time ago as it was simply too small to wear. But this 42mm... hmmm... Please talk me out of purchasing another COMPLETELY USELESS rep. Tell me it's crap and inaccurate to boot. Haven't bought one in YEARS.
  14. Yeah... but Rolex case was almost 100% similar from the earliest 1680 to 16610. That means over 40 years. Evolution? Of course... nothing against that. I wouldn't have had a problem if they had just improved the clasp and put a ceramic bezel on it. But this was no evolution... Rolex butchered and ruined the classic beautiful lines. Let's face it: The only other case change (besides this) was when crown guards were introduced back in 1967.
  15. I'm with Robert today. Just switched to this one.
  16. No. Those are pics by another member from this thread. I love the 16613 and have owned plenty of TT Sub reps. I was offered to buy a WM9 TT Sub (back in the day) for a great price but declined. I wouldn't wear it anyway... it's just too ostentatious. I'm happy with my steel version.
  17. 16613 is very much possible. You can actually buy one preowned WM9 TT version (in theory) which was unbelievable quality. The SEL fitment wasn't that great though. But other than that it was a KILLER 16613. Couldn't get better base for a super franken.
  18. Like I said, there's only one decent replication of the GMTIIc. The old Noobfactory one that I linked for you... it was also available in TT. And even that has a terrible rehaut engraving. That flaw itself is pretty bad (imho). Other than that it's fairly good as it is. But not good enough to invest thousands on a franken. That would require WM9/TC quality base watch... and such watch doesn't exist. Just imho.
  19. Check out this auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-Daytona-116505-Rose-Gold-Never-Worn-WOW-/121069783409 If a watch can be "too much" this definitely is. But can't help it... it looks amazing. I know this would be better suited to Elton John but I'd still wear it. At least inside the house.
  20. Franken gold watches are tough because good quality gen/aftermarket/replica parts simply don't exist. The best option is just to buy the best TT rep available and enjoy it as it is. PS: That rep you linked is not very good. Try to find the TT version that was based on this old & much superior replication: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/81892-review-of-rolex-gmt-master-ii-116710-ceramic/
  21. Game over. Ubi wins. I was never a fan of LV but yours and Watcher's examples have made me reconsider. That COMEX is a killer too... crown guards look PERFECT. And the old no-dates are MUCH nicer and smoother to my eye than 1680.
  22. I just found out about this black and blue GMT. What a silly Invicta-like color combo. Why don't Rolex give its customers what they want? Read: The iconinc Pepsi that's so "Rolex". Can't they make ANYTHING right anymore? It's like they're pissing on their old traditions and enjoying it. This is cool only if you want to know what time it is in Gayville.
  23. Hehe... thanks. Not WM9/TC/BK Sub quality but it really looks quite nice after the mods. Default SELs and pearl don't look good though. Not interested in it personally though. But nice that community now has a decent classic 16600.
  24. Definitely not the best as people have gen dials and even gen movements in theirs... but still pretty good. I love it to bits. WM9 v2 with v1 SELs. Gen insert & "custom" BK crown.
