  1. Very nice.
  2. I'm not aware of that model (because of my hiatus). Thanks. I'll search for it.
  3. Thanks man. It sure would be nice to make another review after all these years. Strange that this release hasn't drawn any interest at all. Things have changed, huh?
  4. Surprised there's nothing about this one yet (or then I haven't noticed as I've been away). They have definitely improved the classic Dweller. http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=352&products_id=10932&zenid=45669a7f35360b962135489a6f007fca Now the rehaut has the cylindrical shape and the crystal looks nice and thick. Dial is nice and even the cg's are pretty good. Pearl is junk though. But this rep is still MUCH improved from the horrible "Super Sea Dweller" don't you think? This might be moddable into pretty good shape with gen insert & TC bracelet.
  5. AWESOME 1675 my friend. But you need the correct multicolor bezel insert for it.
  6. I don't mind the flimsy clasp at all. It's very comfortable and bullet proof and wouldn't trade it for anything. When I wear my gen Steelfish and hand it over to anyone for examination, they're ALL impressed of it. Even a non-watch person can immediately tell it's an expensive watch. Of course "expensive" is relative when talking about only $2K watch but for "normal" people that's hell of a lot money for a timepiece. Classic Rolexes don't impress people much. They're only impressed of the brand and the reputation. But for me a classic Rolex is like an old Porsche 911. When you take a look at its cabin, it's almost like VW-Beetle. There's nothing but the steering wheel. It's really "raw" and stripped in every way. A Toyota Crown from the same era is more luxurious and modern. But an old classic 911 will always cost more than the 996, which was never accepted by the Porsche enthusiasts (although 996 is much better car in all technical terms). I think such dramatic change in design was a big mistake, especially with Submariner. I would be curious to see the sales numbers.
  7. I had a chance to examine the new fat lugs 166610 in person (gen) two weeks ago. It was my collague's watch. While it's definitely a great watch technically it's really hard to see its attraction. Especially when compared to perfection that's 16610. It's difficult to describe it but the new one looks very clumsy and it has lost all its slender, attractive "lines". For example here, in this forum 16610 seems to be at least ten times more popular than 166610. I wonder what kind of sales figures the gen has drawn as this seems to be the case on the gen forums as well. I think it would have been a good business move for Rolex to leave the no-date version available as the old 14060 version so that people could still buy a new classic Submariner. What do you think?
  8. I agree that the pearl looks weird. Insert can be aftermarket or whatever but the watch is definitely genuine.
  9. Hey Freddy... have you ever posted your complete vintage Rolex collection? That must be quite a sight.
  10. Skyland is a great rep and yours is a prime example.
  11. Carrera is an amazing watch. The rep looks great. Enjoy!
  12. Brilliant review. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
  13. It's been a while since I did this. Switched from Steel Sub to this old favorite of mine.
  14. Hey Euno... I love the 911. And of course the 850i looks as amazing as ever. You wanted the 964 but ended up with the vintage. Any reason for that? Edit: Is that a friggin' Turbo or does it just have a modified "fat back"? If it's a Turbo, just forget my question.
  15. B01 is very nice replica. I know it's not a popular model but I like it. The AR is not as strong as it should and the date is recessed. But so what... if that's what you like... go for it. I don't see any problems with the rider tabs. Everything can be distorted in huge closeup pics. But then again my "eye" might not be as good as before. PS: Read my review of the B01 before you purchase. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/120579-review-of-breitling-windrider-chronomat-b01/
  16. 16610 and 16610 LV are pretty amazing. Yours and watcher's pieces are prime examples how ridiculously close to the gen we can get these days. I've been wearing my franken WM9 for months every day. The biggest single mod is the gen insert. BKLM sent me one for a wedding gift. As common and "unimaginative" the 16610 is, nothing beats the good old steel Sub.
  17. Very nice Ubi. How does your collection look like these days?
  18. That is a rep... and not very good one at that.
  19. Very nice Ubi. Lots of Subs... that inspired me to wear mine. Just a cheap fake though.
  20. Go to settings -> albums -> thumbnail settings and you'll get the links visible again. But yes... I agree. Why do so many of these websites make changes for the sake of it? If it ain't broken don't fix it.
