  1. Doesn't the MBW case have way too deep rehaut for 16800 and 168000? Even the Noob rehaut might be too deep.
  2. Yeah, going to get one too. But now we have the same dilemma as usual: Black or white? White looks great on Joshua's pics, but the black one is equally amazing.
  3. There's a cool presentation & video of this watch in the Ebel site. Go to -> collections -> 1911 -> Discovery -> Presentation http://ebel.com/#Collections
  4. The SEL thing could be just a springbar issue. I have the same problem on my Aquaracer chrono. Damn it's is nice... they really made this one well. Discovery is a cheaper model in the Ebel catalog, and it uses the standard ETA 7750. Good for the rep makers! That white dial version is really nice.
  5. And here's the white dial version. Gen, again. So far I haven't found one single flaw from this (besides the typical 7750 datewheel of course).
  6. Joshua has it now. Here's gen. The rep looks pretty damn accurate!
  7. I agree. Bazz's photos and compositions are amazing. I swapped to this for Saturday.
  8. @loner: I have deleted your other thread, which was posted to "General discussion". 1. That was a wrong subforum for this question. 2. Do not open multiple threads to ask the same thing.
  9. Perhaps it's due to the new Co-Axial movement that Omega is installing to all their new watches?
  10. That is a cool watch! Great review & pics my friend... enjoyed it a lot!
  11. Don't worry Steph, we're all sick. But I don't mind this sickness. Everybody have their weird obsessions and dirty little secrets. Watches aren't among the dirtiest ones, imho.
  12. Wow... what an amazing IWC lineup Taka!
  13. I swapped to the SFSO just 15 minutes ago. I'm always impressed with it.
  14. Looks like a good box d4me! Very nice photos too. All best watch photographs have been Photoshopped. If a "hotshot" photographer claims that his pictures are "untouched", he's lying to his teeth. However, there isn't a lot to do when you get the lighting correct. Usually I take off small dust spots off and alter the contrast/brightness levels. Though I have done some heavy PS work too... but those are more PS compositions than actual photos. Some watches are more challenging to shoot than others. Taking decent photos is easy, but when you want to go to the next level you need more work and practice. Usually "decent" photos have noise and lacking details, like the bracelet brushed areas and such. Getting technically decent photo is easy, but a great photo is much more difficult. It's all about the light exposure. More light is always better than less. There is a fine line between correct light exposure and exposure that goes overboard. Finding that balance is difficult. And yeah, I usually take about 10 pictures of the same setup, and I get roughty 1 acceptable one. When I started, the ratio was 100/1. And yeah, camera doesn't mean much. It's the lighting, lighting and once again lighting. Expensive camera won't make your photos any better, if you don't accept this fact. Then you need to have "eye" for the post-processing with PS. That's it. It's very enjoyable to get a good watch photograph. I highly recommend getting into it, it's fun.
  15. What a great project. You forgot to mention one thing though... 16800 and 168000 have shallower rehauts, so the Noobmariner case is excellent base for that reason too. I'd love to get a no-date Sub built around the Noob case. It has shallower rehaut as well.
  16. Chino, gen of this model doesn't have any AR coating. Only the brand new gens, models from 2007 ->, the ones that have red Seamaster lettering have AR. So the rep is accurate in this regard. But yeah, AR coating probably wouldn't hurt. @Andreww: Silix can get the inserts. Too bad it takes days to get any replies from him these days.
  17. Sorry to hear that watcher. UK has always been one of the easiest customs, but perhaps this has changed recently. Once again the EU dealers is the answer for us. Sometimes it means a bit longer wait (so that our dealers can source the watches), but avoiding even one incident like this is well worth it (imho).
  18. I often wear this watch with a suit. Of course it's not a dress watch (actually quite the opposite), but for some reason I like its thick appearance with white sleeves.
  19. Yep, that's the one. Then I made my own changes to the teams.
  20. No, there was a separate classic patch too. The default classic teams are very poorly made. Especially the faces, they don't look authentic at all. Not even the most famous players, like Pel
  21. Thanks Freddy, glad that you liked it my friend. That Newman Daytona ain't bad, either.
  22. Back to my favorite Rolex today.
  23. No no... bezel insert. Mine is still misaligned and I would love to have a few spares before I start experimenting with it.
  24. Thanks Lani. About the SMP chrono still... I'm always amazed of this watch, every time I put it on. It's an excellent replica, and deserves a place in the top-10 reps ever, imho. PS: Has anyone been successful to source proper replacement inserts for the SMP? I'd love to align the insert for mine. Someone said Silix have them... but I emailed them a few days ago, and never received a reply. I should get one for my standard Bond SMP too.
