  1. Yeah, but this watch only works with blue dial (for me anyway). Other versions do nothing for me.
  2. I always wanted the smaller date-only model. King has this one... it's a silly fantasy model, but the build quality doesn't look bad at all. This one is equipped with the low beat old Asian 7750 though. So... wouldn't it be logical to release a blue dial version of this too? Of course we have no guarantees about the quality. But hey, we can always hope... I'd be the first one to get it (if it's good). Although I love my 'Racer and it's definitely a super rep, I'm not that fond of oversized watches anymore. Smaller version would be nicer (just mho).
  3. Actually I was wrong about this rep. Looks like it really comes with Asian 7750, old low-beat version. The wandering '6 subdial in the initial photo tricked me (typical problem with the old Asian 7750). Weird that they have made a complete fantasy model of this (as far as I know this is fantasy). King has it too. Sorry, my mistake. PS: I wouldn't mind a blue dial (date only) version.
  4. Yes, there definitely is a ETA version of that watch.
  5. All current models presented and photographed. Enjoy! http://ww2.tagheuer.com/_img/The%20Collect..._CAT2008_GB.pdf
  6. The 2893-2 is an excellent movement for sure, but if I'm not mistaken it has incorrect hand stack for the modern GMT Master II. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the GMT hand is below the hour hand on 2893-2. The wrong hand stack genuine ETA 2836-2 (the GMT hand adjustable model) has never, ever given me even one single problem over the years. And I've owned many of them. The Asian versions are different I'm sure.
  7. Cool that the correct stack is available again, but unfortunately those watches are inferior rep versions. Very inaccurate. I'm at a loss why they couldn't use the superior "Noobfactory" watch as a base... which Trusty also sells (but with incorrect hand stack). Sigh... business as usual I guess...
  8. Excellent choice! When purchasing gens, it's always wise to stay with the classics... and also the watches that you have already "tested" with reps. That's another reason why reps are so cool... you can buy a rep of the expensive watch, wear it for a few months (or even a year) and see if the watch is something that you really like. It's rather safe to purchase the gen after this experience. Omega SMP Bond is one of the safest bets... how can you NOT like this watch? Its, well... a classic! Congrats!
  9. It's a beauty of course! Explorer II is one of those watches that never gets the attention it deserves. It's probably the coolest Rolex out there. Very understated watch, and definitely not something that people even notice. But that's exactly why I love it. One of my favorite watches ever, and excellent choice for a gen. It's a bit perverse that ExpII is cheaper than Submariner in the 2nd hand market, because the 3185 is a superior movement compared to the robust but simple 3135. PS: I'm ready to buy a gen 16710 (funds are ready), as soon as I find a decent deal in the EU area. I would be looking for a gen ExpII too, if I weren't so lucky with finding my excellent franken.
  10. I have a problem. I still can't choose between the silver and black dials. Here's the gen siver version.
  11. I've had 2 quartz Ebels too... loved them both. The quartz BTR is actually quite nice rep, but it's a bit too thin for my tastes. BTR 1911 with 7750 will be my next watch... as soon as I figure out which version I want. My old ones:
  12. Great watches guys... all of them! I'm starting the week with the watch that I never get tired of... the GMT.
  13. Oh man... what a beautiful collection!
  14. After seeing Laz's pics I decided to switch to this one too... for Sunday.
  15. I hate to say it again, but the WM9 Yacht-Master looks really good.
  16. Actually it didn't even cross my mind that members would like to discuss brands like Seiko, Invicta, Citizen and Alpha there. Cheap brands that we don't have replicas of. Hmm... maybe I'm wrong and there's a demand for that here, but I doubt it. Guys, we'll discuss this in the admin room. PS: Believe me, we'd love to do anything that pleases our great members. But one of the best things in RWG is the brand specific subforums. We're quite proud of it, and how well everything is seachable and organized. We don't want to mess up with that, and that's what "duplicates" could do. But perhaps it wouldn't be as big problem as I originally thought.
  17. People do it all the time. They ask Rolex gen questions in the "Rolex forum" and Omega gen questions in the "Omega forum", etc. Supposedly we had a "genuine forum" for all watch brands. Now it'd be full of Rolex questions, Omega questions, TAG questions, etc. What would be the gain from this? Instead of searching the information from one forum, now people should search the information from two forums. Doesn't make any sense to me. The brand-specific subforums are brand forums, also for gens. They're not like "Rolex Replica Area", they're like "The Rolex Area". The brand-specific subforums have LOTS of gen questions. Sorry guys, but I'm at a loss why we should create a misc. duplicate forum to mess up the search function... just for the sake of creating a "gen forum".
  18. We have the brand-specific subforums already. People can post gens there as much as they want... they always had. I really don't see the need for a gen watch section... creating too many low-traffic sections won't serve any purpose (imho). It makes browsing the forum extremely difficult, and finding information too. Look at the front page guys... there are already too many sections and subforums people rarely read. All the most user friendly forums are extremely basic and simple, and have as few subcategories as possible. That's the direction I'd take the RWG, not constantly increase the subforums (unless there's an absolute need for them). That's the same reason why we have rejected other (in principle) good ideas, like the vintage forum.
  19. Wow, when did you create that? Cool! I will move the old AP threads there from "other brands area", during today and tomorrow.
  20. Why not... but would there be enough volume? Maybe... now that the new super reps are out. Let's watch the situation closely.
  21. @laz: Congrats for that beautiful gen! Excellent, excellent choice!
  22. I agree. I'm just not sure if it'd receive any wrist time or not. There are so many amazing reps, but I never wanted to buy watches that would collect the dust in the watch box. Eurotimez promised to send me one for a review. Perhaps that review could lead to a purchase (if it manages to capture my heart).
