  1. This gen has a tight tricompax subdial spacing which can't be replicated properly. And because there's a Bond Seamaster chronograph "Super rep" with perfect 12-9-6 spacing, it's only natural that this has never gotten much attention. But I agree, it's a great looker.
  2. Hi Karen, I have never heard of a dealer called "lvmonia". Our members generally don't deal with cqout, Ioffer and other such places. Why? Looks like your case is yet another example. I'm afraid you've been taken. The only thing that might make you feel better is that the watch would probably have been a POS anyway. But no worries, all the dealers in the RWG Link Section are proven, well known and trustworthy. You'll find much better replica from any of those dealers. Happy hunting, and welcome to the forum!
  3. Congrats Andrew... this really is quite amazing. Looks like the factory did splendid job with this one!!! PS: Moved this to the correct subforum: The Breitling Area.
  4. I have always traded all my watches that don't get wrist time. I have owned about 40-45, but I haven't regretted even one trade afterwards. Now I have only 7 reps, all getting constant wrist rotation... and I have to say I enjoy my watches a lot more this way. Actually I haven't bought a new rep since December 2007 (except upgraded my GMT 16710 to a chs model). I want a Ebel BTR though... thanks to Lani's and Taka's pictures. But I understand the different approach perfectly. That's the "collectors point of view". Some reps I've traded have been superb replications, some probably can never be found again (when they'll be gone off the production line). But then again I'm not a collector type of person. If the watch can't capture my heart, it'll go. Usually I know after 2 months.
  5. Glad that you like the GMTIIc Freddy. I might get one of those for a review. Wrong hand stack though... but I want to see if the watch itself is all worth the hype. Tuesday I'll be wearing my white beauty.
  6. I know this is posted to the Rolex forum, but Ubi should take some new shots of his vintage SMP. That's a beauty for sure!
  7. I've never been a vintage Rolex person, really. But I owned this MBW a few years ago. I was going to make a lot of mods, but never got into it... Watches from my Great Grandfather and Grandfather. Not Rolexes though... the pocket watch with Breguet coil was a gift from the French Embassy. The other watch is a Swiss gold watch "Choisi", bought from a Russian offcer during the WW2. This brand still exists, and I was in contact with the management director. They wanted to photograph the watch for their archives, but I took the shots for them.
  8. Why so many people call it "Milguass"? It's Milgauss... you hear me... MILGAUSS!
  9. @Freddy: Yeah it's brushed... those are just huge reflections from the trees + direct light exposure.
  10. The two-tone MBK Sub and "Noob" Sub definitely have "solid" links. The gold is not going to wear off, as the middle links are "full" gold. The actual carat might be very low and the copper content very high... but it's not going to wear off like plating. The middle links are definitely polishable (I've tested it myself). Whatever gold it is... ("trumpet " gold, low carat gold, etc.) it looks quite good on the watches I reviewed. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=70871 The gold issue has been beaten to death over the years. There's a lot in the archives.
  11. @msm: That's a KILLER SMP Chrono! Wow, I don't think we had so many Rolexes in a wrist check thread. I'm wearing one too... the GMT.
  12. @Stephane: Can't wait for the review of that beauty. I spent the whole weekend with my SMP Chronograph. It was on my wrist at my best friend's wedding (I was the best man). Looked great with a black suit. Phew, that was a long trip (500 kilometers), 2 nights over there and about 2000 drinks.
  13. Old cars... they have the "spirit". New cars... well, they're mostly soulless, sterile and boring.
  14. Yep. Missed that one completely. I will edit the review accordingly (later). Thanks man.
  15. You, of course, checked the links of the proven & reliable dealers from our link section? http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?autoco...E=02&cat=16 You found and registered into the #1 replica board on the Internet and now you'd like to risk your money with some unknown and potentially shady dealer. Is there some reason for that, or do you just want to gamble?
  16. It's a beauty. Congrats! Yes, the Noob dial is better but I still wouldn't bother swapping it in (except if you already have a spare and can do it yourself). WM9 dial is ok. The cg's need some work... just straighten the insides and you have heck of a nice Sub. PS: The SELs don't seem to fit that well. But maybe it's just the picture?
  17. I agree that the edges would look better polished. That's very easy job to do by yourself though. It'd probably take 5 minutes with some metal paste and dremel.
  18. I don't know. Perhaps for the same reason they have 5 different dial variations of the Yacht-Master Rolesium. Lots of YM's have different coronet position... and many, many variations on the "YACHT-MASTER" font boldness. Also SWISSMADE and SWISS ' MADE are constantly different, no logic there. And for the same reason they put out GMT 16710 dials with "GMT MASTER II" and "GMT MASTER ||" fonts. Or have 2 different color font variations on the 16613 bezel, plain yellow and brown/gold. Trust me, they come both ways. Here's a 2006 model. Only the clasp edges are polished. Pic from Uhrenfan.de: Here's another new one from Bernardwatch: http://www.bernardwatch.com/watch/RLX3627
  19. Excellent writeup Taka. Glad to hear the watch is nicely done (technically too). I'll await for the white TT version... but if it never comes out, I'll go for this same one.
  20. Thanks all! Appreciate the comments! Another myth that dies hard. There are both polished and brushed bracelet sides on the modern 16613. See this one for example: http://tinyurl.com/6z9jhf
  21. Looks really nice. Correct datewheel in a 7750 rep? The world must be ending.
  22. @Dude: No, definitely not. That watch isn't bad, but it has one fundamental flaw, which is the datewheel/cyclops positioned too right. It's very typical problem with Submariner/GMT reps. It also has pure stainless steel showing underneath the sides of the gold wrapped SEL. I think I owned that exact same watch 3 years ago (from Joshua himself). Nice rep, but can't be compared to either of these (in any way).
  23. @Stephane: It's perfect. What else can I say? Ok, you're a Sub nuts. But you knew that already.
  24. I agree 100%. ETAs are so 2006. Let's go for the cheap 28.8k Asians!
  25. Talked to Joshua recently, and he said there's a TT version coming. Hopefully it'll be available with white dial. I'm waiting, I'm waiting... I want that watch. The white dial stainless version is out already. Rather nice if you ask me.
