  1. @perry: I think you're right. Yes, this watch has flaws of course but unlike the SSD the case and rehaut look fundamentally correct this time. Maybe it's just me but I don't see it being too "wokky". Well maybe it is a little. Just discussed with Eurotimez recently and he also said that the engraving on the MBWs is almost invisible to the naked eye. Here's better shot of the rehaut (from Trusty's site) If I had waited for this watch I wouldn't be too disappointed. It's a nice rep.
  2. Hey, great writeup and nice watch! I linked this article to the TAG Guide.
  3. Amazing writeup, as usual. I think your articles are so legendary that you should receive entirely your own section for them.
  4. I've had four of them. 3 working perfectly, 1 has an issue, where the hour hand gets occasionally loose, but only when you use the independent hour hand setup. It again works perfectly when you set the time only from the hack position. The movement isn't going to die or anything, it's a genuine ETA. The problem with this modification is the badly constructed hour hand transfer gear/fork, which can cause slippage. And when the hour hand gets loose you can "attach" it again when you roll the minute hand around the dial for ca. 24 hours. I don't know the technical explanation for that, but it works for both me and bklm1234 who owns a chs GMT II as well. The date change on the old chs movement follows the GMT 24h hand, not the hour hand. But if you set your 24h hand to follow your local time the date change is no problem, either. But then again, this is supposed to be a new, improved correct hand stack modification where the date change follows the hour hand. That's what Angus told me anyway. Too bad I'm not too crazy about this ceramic version, gen or rep. I doubt I'm going to drop $400 for it.
  5. We can't really tell from the pictures how the bezel looks in r/l. That's a big factor of course. But looks like they did pretty good job with this one. The bezel numbers look a bit too thick, and the rehaut engraving doesn't look 100% correct to me. Rehaut thickness, however, looks good for this model. PS: The price and specs have been updated at Joshua's page: http://www.pc-80108.com/000rlgs01001-anni-...and-p-4583.html I constructed a comparison shot with the gen here (adjusted and rotated Joshua's sales picture a little). This definitely looks like a good replica... but keep the observations coming!
  6. Giving this some wrist time today.
  7. It's perfectly normal, no worries. The day usually changes around 02am for this movement.
  8. Just buy a new watch and stop stressing about it.
  9. Beautiful Navi M!!! Is that a recent purchase?
  10. Wearing my favorite white dial right now. Have a great weekend all!
  11. Now that I think about it... why don't the Noob factory make a great no-date Sub Super rep from the Noobmariner base... and sell thousands of it? Maybe because they're not interested in money?
  12. Now that it has lugholes it would be a great start for a 14060 project (modern no-date Submariner). Gen has shallow rehaut and I think Noob would be absolutely perfect height. Gen dial would be everything you need (and a non-sel bracelet of course).
  13. When I looked at the first photo, I thought it's a gen. Noobmariner looks almost perfect from the front view. Then I noticed the gap between SEL and the lugs. But damn... I gotta get one of these again.
  14. PAMs have always been important for the community. I certainly appreciate the watches and fans, but they're not my thing... even after all these years. I have tried on a gen PAM and it did nothing for me... I know nothing about them and I don't understand what people see in them. I like the blue Regatta chrono though... that's the only PAM I could ever consider buying.
  15. Didn't Honpo get all the new models before our dealers... a few years ago? Isn't that a bit strange, because he's Japan-based?
  16. I think shipping wise Norway is treated as another EU country. I think there's no customs between Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway (although Norway doesn't belong to EU). I suspect other (non-scandinavian) EU countries treat Norway the same way. Hey, what dangeous could potentially come from Norway? Rotten fish maybe...
  17. Nice video Greg. Your kid looks older than 5 though.
  18. The most important thing to keep the location in your profile is the sales section. Members might have watches for sale/trade, and this way the potential buyer can immediately see if there's a potential customs risk. Basically US/EU/Asia are the only things we really need to know when have the "second hand" trades. Quite a lot of members from Australia too. Many members simply don't want to tell their exact location. Including me. Only my friends know it, and that's enough for me.
  19. That's great to hear Prince! I hope your wife recovers soon... those hospitals are horrible places! Best wishes!!!
  20. Hey Rower, thanks... and great to see you here my friend!!!
  21. Okay okay... I had to put it on later today. Even my girlfriend loves the Pepsi!

    ...

It's only 5 years when these Tudors were available for CHEAP. Why didn't I take loan from the bank and buy 100 of them? Same with 1675. They were ridiculously cheap just 2 years ago... look at them now. I think Nanuq had a good timing there. PS: Very nice franken. The vintage effect is a bit heavy, but I like it.
  23. I don't think the depth is just as big factor as how the rehaut and crystal merge with eachother. It's very easy to spot the rep from the angled view. On the gen and WM9 it simply "looks" correct. Can't really explain it. Noob factory watches have this area almost spot on, but the rehaut and crystal edge is often too "matte". It looks better on my TT Sub 16613 though. This goes to ultimate geekdom again, but I can always spot the reps from the angled view. WM9 is the only 16610 rep that looks like gen in this regard. I had the old TW model (which I believe used the same case as the old MBW) and while it was deep as a fishtank, from this angle it simply looks...well... rep. Look at the 2 small bevels just below the crystal, I'm talking about that area. Tribals idea of polishing the rehaut is very good though... and I think it could improve the appearance. I'm not actually very big fan of the 16610, but I always enjoy discussing the watch with fellow geeks.
  24. Take your number mate. PS: The hell freezes over before I part with that one.
