  1. Nice SD!!! Much better than the previous attempts. Even the crown looks to be right size. Wear it well my friend...and happy New Year!!!
  2. Happy New Year to RWG! I'm starting the year with the same watch as the last year (I recall). My Speedmaster.
  3. @chrgod: I'm more attracted to the bracelet version as well. And you're right... 2007 looks promising already. Perhaps we can even get the mighty Aquagraph/Aquaracer eventually.
  4. They come up with at least one magnificient rep every month. I've always wanted a Carrera. It's such a legendary model. Hmm... I'm currently between Steelfish Superocean, Chronomat Evolution and now this. Damn... this is NICE!. I think I need them all though... I forgot the Hublot already. That price tag surely had something to do with it.
  5. Thanks Gran. And back to you...happy New Year my friend!!! I know you Norwegians... so don't get too drunk today.
  6. I have owned 2 TT Subs. Neither were very convincing so I traded them. But this Navitimer two-tone was much more convincing. Perhaps because the watch was really heavy (due to 7750) and the bracelet felt sturdy. Gold plating was very well done, and I couldn't have told it was a rep (if I wasn't such a hardcore watch nutcase). I understand Breitling isn't for everyone, but it was surprisingly well done. So two-tone reps CAN be good. Plated reps of full gold watches are completely different matter.
  7. @longshot: Go for the black if you're not sure about the orange. Seriously... the orange is spot on. Don't worry about it. And you can always get them both.
  8. Guys...check this site. It has TONS of 5513 shots: http://collectiondemontres.free.fr/mapetit...olex5513sub.htm
  9. @chrono: That's what I was thinking. My MBW Tudor Snowflake came with similar crystal but the crown guards definitely look better on your watch. Crown is definitely not the same. It looks genuine to me... but Randy can probably verify that. How does the pearl look... can you post a pic? Too bad I don't have the MBW's anymore to compare.
  10. Here's a movement shot of 5513: Great reference site: http://collectiondemontres.free.fr/mapetit...olex5513sub.htm
  11. @chrono: The crystal looks too high and bulged to me. That doesn't mean anything though... Can't say for sure about the rest, try to shoot some better shots (preferably in daylight). Here's a reference pic of the 5513 to compare. Sorry, I have no crystal sideview shot of the 5513 but Tudor Military Sub supposedly used the same case and crystal:
  12. Thanks phoband. Yep, it's a lightbox photo.
  13. This pic probably gives you the idea how big the "Ultimate" PO is.
  14. Here's another shot. Almost the same as the AR pic, but without the noise and crystal reflection.
  15. Beautiful collection. That's a lovely Speedy!!! Where did you get that?
  16. Hmm... this hockey puck doesn't look like 42mm to me.
  17. Ah...thanks for the clarification. I specially mentioned in PM that I want the strap for my 4th Gen and Joshua didn't say anything about this. I guess he didn't know then. Not a big deal, really. But I spent hours trying to figure out a way to make it fit. Actually I made it sit still but I had to use 2 needles to push the strap against the caseback recess (those "bowls" that you use with a caseback opener). It looked okay on the wrist but this "fix" was really pathetic, so I changed it back on a bracelet. And man aren't those springbars PAINFUL to get back in.
  18. It's a real shame that Joshua sells the rubber strap "for 42mm Planet Ocean" if it's not even intended for this watch. Misleading for sure... I don't care about the money (who cares about $35) but it was a lot of hassle and effort trying to make it fit to the PO... without success.
  19. Exactly. I've seen wrist shots where the watch itself is wider than the wrist. It looks a bit funny. But for some reason putting watches on a strap lessens the effect greatly. I've seen some large watches on skinny wrists that look great. Look at Daniel Craig. He's a small (but fit) guy and yet the 45mm PO looked great on him. I don't think I want the rubber strap, personally. I love this thing on a bracelet. Especially when the bracelet quality is as nice as it is. I'll put my 4th Gen on a strap when I find a decent one. Too bad I wasted my money on that useless strap.
  20. Dave... That's the "brushed bezel" version which isn't as accurate as the "polished bezel" version. That's different rep... and it used to have the serious date font issue (Check my original TAG review). http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=9437
  21. Thanks. I competed as a powerlifter in the national level... but without much success. I had a good squat and deadlift but quite pathetic bench (for a 270-pound guy). It's my body structure (long hands) which prevented me from benching a lot. All top guys in my weight range benched at least 500. I'm into combat sports these days... I need good aerobic condition... so my weight is now only in the anorectic 245-250 range. But I feel much better now... and I can even play occasional 2 minute shifts in the hockey rink. @R1co: Thanks for clarification. So I guess my rubber strap is junk. Let's hope they come up with a decent one for the "Ultimate". Yes indeed. Glad you enjoyed it my friend. I really enjoy doing the reviews, it's great therapy and escape from work and stress. Photographing watches is a lot of fun too...I constantly try to improve.
  22. No... that test has to be performed with your Daytona.
  23. Fantasy watch (no genuine version exists), but nothing wrong with that. Very nice looker.
  24. @4motion: I love the last shot!!! Very nice watch. Looks a bit like Tudor Hydronaut.
  25. Ok guys...here are the wristshots I promised. Excuse the pic quality...these have all been taken with a shit camera which doesn't have macro (my fiancee borrowed my camera!). I'm amazed how grainy and shitty pics this thing takes. The clasp shuts nice and tight: Standard shot: Here's how it sits on my 8' wrist. This thing is huge. I'll take better shots immediately when I get my damn camera back.
