  1. Getting a job permit here today is not as easy as yesterday (before 9/11)! For one thing, your new employer has to prove that he can't fill that position using local labor!!! #2: You can't work without an SS card.....try and get that and see how hard it is.....specially if it's for employment! PS......I'm also an immigrant (just lucky to have an Irish/Spanish/American for a Dad, but I did not come from either of these countries).......and I know a lot of them (Legals and illegals!!!), believe me it's not easy, but on the other hand, this is America, everything is possible...........for a price!
  2. Consider that like it's me! I've been wearin my SFSO.....like yours exactly, for the last two days! Just lazy taking a wrist shot!!!! I've been daydreaming about summer!!!
  3. Try getting a Visa with that!!!! Or you could try India and the Philippines, I heard they need Call Center operators!!!
  4. You seem like on your merry way! See.....these group of folks at RWG rocks!!!! Have been......you'll be oozzzzzing with watch info soon, it will come out of your ears!!!
  5. Man, with a job in Finance, I don't think you'll make it getting a work Visa here in the US of A!!! Only two fields are hot if you're from a foreign country: #1 - Medicine (Nurses, Doctors, PTs, Pharmacists, etc) #2 - IT (Web Developers/Designers, Programmers, Security Pro....) although not as hot as a few years ago..... but, I beat if you could make Hillary Clinton win, she'll petition you! Question though, why leave NZ? You're tired of being a Kiwi? You have a beautiful country!!! I plan to go back in the near future....I have to explore the South Island! Good luck!
  6. I purchase two of these specials at Trustytime: http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...a1445ec61c30698 the Black Sub! and the Rolisium YatchMaster! Both are losing time 3 to 4 minutes per day......are you having the same problem? How do you DYI fix it? I asked Andrew and this is his reply to my email: "If you can, just find a local watchsmith to adjust and regulate the time. Thanks..." I'd rather do it myself if its not that complicated. Maybe its about time for me to get wet and jump in inside these watches and this watch is I think the best one to do it!
  7. Hi Juicy! I'm sorry to hear you're having these problems, but most Valjoux 7750 driven watches usually are finicky beast! Please do a search on this site and you'll know what I'm talking about. I started as a newbie like you and had high hopes for these chronos, but now, after learning a lot from this site and owning about a dozen of them, I have lowered my hopes and expectations for these particular watches, particularly as a chrono function.....buy them for aesthrtic purpose, but not for technical one! In short, enjoy there beauty, but don't expect it to function the way you'd think. I give up doing that! If your intent is to use the chrono function a lot, then buy the swiss version. Hope this help and good luck! It might still work, if not, work with your dealer.....you might have to send it back!
  8. Agree.....Asian 894906! .......received b4 Xmas!
  9. Corgi, you sound like my Dad.........and Mom!!!
  10. You're wearing a long sleeve shirt, no one will notice!!! Not unless you're planning to roll it up! Did you get a lawyer? They're worth it. I went to traffice court 2 Mondays ago on speeding 21 over charge and where I'm from it's a $180 cost just to plead guilty and go to traffic school and be on probation and court supervision for 6 months!!!!yadiyadiyadiya), I hired a lawyer for a $100, went to court (nobody even noticed I was wearing a Cartier TT Santos 100XL) and my lawyer had the prosecutor drop the charge......that was priceless!!! Charge the $100 to AAA and it came out as free...... I love AMERICA!!!!
  11. Wow! UB7, was that the same original that I used? That's nice.......I wanna see how the aging process will do to this strap I did....... FxrAndy, I like that Idea!!! I was trying to figure out how to make leather waterproof so that I could put one on my SFSO and swim/dive with it (need to test the 1000M claim), I'll try your suggestion. I have a black rep leather for Breitling and I'll try it on that next. BTW: where do you get leather wax? That's not the same as the one that Coach sells for their leather bags, is it?
  12. Hey Dizz! Glad you chimed in! You're the one!!!!..... who inspired me to do this project! I checked your Pam distress link and when I saw it, I said to myself " I could do that!" Plus I have the exact same strap that you distress! Thanks!!!
  13. Yup, It came with the PAM 036 I ordered from Josh! Thanks!
  14. Thanks, The Zigmeister! And Good Luck on your new posting to Paris!!! It's been 3 years since I've been there.......I prefer the Normandy coast, though!
  15. First off, I want to apologize to our fellow member (I think my memory left with 2007 ) who inspired me to do this! Please chime it whoever you are? This is exactly the same strap that you did!!! Here goes (on a PAM 026): The Process: 1. Scuff the dry strap with an all purpose (the blue one) Scoth-Brite using the tough side 2. Wet the strap and scuff some more 3. Rinse the strap and spray Clorox (the pre-mix version) on the strap until it's soaked, let it stay for 12 mins..... 4. Rinse really well!!! 5. Wash with Ivory soap (helps in getting rid of the Clorox smell) and rinse some more..... 6. Let it dry for 48 hours - naturally!!!! Don't blow dry or else you'll have a strap that would fit a Breitling from a 44 PAM!!! Good luck!
  16. Damn, The Zigmeister! Why Paris? Move to Asia, you'll live like a king with 80K euros a year!
  17. What The Zigmeister said is correct. I had a PAM 064 and B&R 03-94 that had the exact same problem....I returned them to the dealer and had him do the fix, which I recommend you do the same or have The Zigmeister fix it I if he would or.........try a local watch repair person!
  18. I had this watch with the Titanium case and black band from Costco ($550) last year in April....Loved it and so did my friends! Then I took it climbing Mt. Raineir and was so disappointed, it was off by 500ft by the time I got to base camp....tried resetting it and everything, but no go.....I was glad I bought it from Costco, no hassle return!!!! I replaced it with a Casio Pathfinder Triple Sensor - Solar Powered Titanium with Thermometer (again from COstco) and this baby works as advertised! Took it to Mt. Bierstadt and Pike's Peak in Colorado last October and it keep pace with my Garmin Etrex Vista GPS!!! Good luck!!! Its a beautiful and technically advance watch though and your particular model might be accurate now. Have you tested it?
  19. Happy to see you guys didn't get drunk tonite! LOL!!! Happy New Year!!!
  20. I got the same watch from Joshua and I'm pretty sure they're the same as Andrew's, they get them from the same source. I have the same problem, crown too small for my fingers!! Be carefull with the small screw that holds the clasp on the bracelet 'cause it might be loose. I almost lost mine......... I forgot to add Daytona4me's review of this watch: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=64936
  21. I got this with the Black Sub and the strange thing is that the YM loses 4 minutes each day!!! The YM is nice for its price, but it's driving me nuts! Any ideas? I hate to open the watch 'cause I'm afraid I'll lose the waterproofing! Is there a way of adjusting it and not screw up the waterproofing? Thanks for any info!
  22. I have this, the RG version, and its beautiful: Thr Asian 7750 Chrono on these models are okay due to the placement of the seconds at 9, although I don't really use them!
  23. I'll bid $60.....maybe more if you could post pictures!
  24. Wow! I'm drooling! Is that modded? That would be my third PVD PAM if you tell me where to get it!!!!!
