  1. So in reality King's version would be more accurate because of the crown position being closer to gen??
  2. Just looked at the one from King with the 2892. It seems from the pics atleast that Kings version positions the crown higher in the case than the A21j version does. Which is correct??? Also how does Kings version compare to the noob version in terms of accuracy???
  3. Well my Link Chrono has been running fine since new, so luckily for me the movement is holding up. Unfotrunately the other night when I went to take it off I lost a screw on the bracelet. It is the screw that holds the flip lock to the clasp, it seems like it is a tube with small screws that screw into both sides of it to hold the flip lock in place. I have gone to about 5 smaller watch shops here and have yet to come up with one. So if anyone could give me a bit of help as to where I could find a new one it would be much appreciated.
  4. Well I had gotten an e-mail from Angus last week saying it would be released May 3rd, now if that happens???
  5. Bump for any updates???
  6. Not sure about how things work, but I can only imagine that if a "Swiss" movement is in it we will be looking at a $700+ price tag for the watch. I would rather go buy a gen. of another watch than spend that much on a rep. that is not 100% movement excluded of course.
  7. Did we ever figure out what the lume quality will be on this one. Based on the Gen Lume, if this one has typical rep lume that would be almost as big of a tell as if they spelled IWC backwards.
  8. No you still have to go through your own country's customs before it is released to be delivered to you.
  9. any chance you could get a pic of that for me thanks
  10. So what do you guys think this would look like on a Blue rubber Breitling strap? Also what is the lug size on this beauty?
  11. And which particular model are we talking about here?
  12. Not that it makes a difference anyways but just out of curiosity I would like to ask. Does it really matter how good or bad a rep of a DeWitt is? First most of your everyday people in this world have no clue what a DeWitt is, they would probably think it is something you picked up next to the Timex display, unless that is you make a point to tell them what it is and that it is not a cheap watch. So with that in mind all you would need is the name on the dial and a slight resemblence to the real deal. Second if they do out of curiosity(and if you make a big deal about how special it is, you can bet the house that they will) decide to go home and google the watch, by the time they pull up the pic of the gen you will not have yours around to compare so off of memory something close would probably be convincing enough...at first. However that does lead us back to the inevidable. What happens when someone you tried to pass the watch off as a gen to goes home and googles it? When they find out it is a $15k watch will they believe you have the means to afford it?
  13. Just a thought your 250,000 in dinars is only worhth about $195.00 USD. I don't see their money skyrocketing anytime soon with the current political and economic situation there. Now your friend is holding onto about $80k in USD I don't know what he is waitiing on to dump them??
  14. You don't think a red strap would be a bit much for a watch that would only be worn in a dressy atmosphere? So something along these lines you think? http://www.thewatchprince.com/s.nl/it.A/id.1654/.f or http://www.thewatchprince.com/s.nl/it.A/id.1809/.f
  15. OK here is the best I could manage with my phone. I know the pic is very crappy but at the moment it is the best I can do. If you read the description above while looking at it you might be able to make out a bit better what you are looking at. The 6 subdial is the alarm which has an hour and min hand on a 12 hour clock. the 9 is running seconds, and the 12 is the world time dial with hour and min hands running on a 24 hour clock. the large second hand moves around the dial and points to the different areas and as you move that the world time clock at 12 moves to show you the time in that zone.
  16. Well while looking through some boxes last night I found my old watch from High School. It is a Seiko World Timer with alarm. I don't have any pics of it yet but it is about 37mm has 19mm lugs, stainless steel case stainless bezzle with gold accents(that are pretty worn off) on the 12, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10. Dial is a deep blue metalic with red metalic subdials 12, 9, and 6. All pushers and crowns are gold, as are all hands and writing on the dial face. The different world times are written in gold as well along the outer edge of the dial. She is going to need some work but I want to get it back to looking good. Now being used to wearing bigger watches this watch felt pretty small on the wrist. I think using a metal band would make it seem that much smaller. I would like to put a leather strap on it and I think with the leather and gold it would make a very nice dress watch plus it is not very thick so it would not interfere with dress shirts. Right now it needs a new crystal, the bezzle needs replacing as the gold accents are pretty worn off and it has its fair share of dings in it, I will also probably get the dial re-lumed as it dosen't look that good right now. The watch is probably about 12 years old and I paid somewhere around $500 for it new. So my question do you guys think it would be worth the trouble to get it back to new condition, and what color/type of strap would you guys go for.
  17. The lug width is the space between the lugs where the strap attaches to the watch. The gen is 22mm where some of the reps are a bit short of that. It is an obvious flaw but how big of one is up to you. If you don't ever plan on taking the supplied strap off then it dosen't matter all that much, however if you ever plan on adding a rubber divers strap or anything like that it is a big deal. Also on the cheaper version the buckle is incorrect. The word "Professional" is supposed to be engraved above the "Planet Ocean"
  18. What you should do is increase from 3 meals to 6. Eat something small for breakfast, eat something else a few hours later, lunch, snack a few hours later, dinner, etc. You eat 6 smaller meals vs 3 decent size meals and your metabolism will speed up. If you are just trying to shed pounds the best thing to do would be to get on some type of cardio program. Spinning(variable resistance stationary biking) will work that extra weight off in no time, plus if you could do it after school your body will still be burnning fat till well past dinner time.
  19. Changing a diet will have that effect. The only problem is you will only loose so much that way. What happened is your body is used to burning so many calories a day, lets for numbers sake say your old diet was in the neighborhood of 3000 calories a day, your new diet is at about 2000 calories per day. So your body is used to burning the 3000 a day and will continue to do that so you effectively burn a little under a pound a day. The problem with this is eventually, probably within a week or two your body will realize that you are taking in less calories and then it will start to burn less so you will not loose any more weight. So in about 3 weeks when you realize that you are not loosing anymore weight you will pull away from your new diet as most frustrated people do and go back to your old habits. You will up your calorie consumption back to 3000 a day on your new system that will only burn 2000 a day. Now you will put all the weight you lost back on and possibly more.
  20. No offense to Pug, but if you have to change the rule to get it right then it isn't right according to the rules set fourth.
  21. Well if you followed the answers of the people behind you, you should know that at this point there should either be more blacks or more whites, if you see 6 of each and lets say there are supposed to be more whites than blacks at this point then you would know that your hat should be white.
  22. Got it, they decide the first color called based on what the guy in the back sees in front of him. Lets say he counts 52 black hats and only 47 white hats. He would call out Black. Now the guy in front of him would know that there are more black hats than white hats, so in turn he counts that there are lets say 52 black hats in front of him and only 46 white hats he now knows that his hat has to be white. Now provided they all follow along with the answers that come down the line, simple addition and subtraction should let each one of them know what color hat they have on.
  23. Ok so if they can't trade any information "Other Than" the color of their hats then that would mean that they can trade info on the color of their hats or was this just a grammatical error?
  24. I tend to think that the easiest solution has to be the right one. Considering there is an infinite number of black and white hats to choose from there really is no mathematical formula to figure it all out before hand. Since only one person can guess wrong it has to be the guy that goes first as he has NO way of knowing which color his hat is. The only way to get out of it would be as roughly stated above, for the guy behind you to let you know what color hat you have on so you can guess correctly. This also brings up another problem if the first guy says black because the guy in front of him has a black hat on, the second guy knows his hat is black, but what if the guy in front of him has a white hat on? If the second guy says black which is what color hat he is wearing then he would be giving the guy in front of him the wrong answer. So the simplest thing to do would be for the guy behind you to give you the answer to your hat and still have a way to correctly guess his hat color. All you have to do is think of two ways to pronounce black and two ways to pronounce white, or even simpler just figure out a part of each word to annunciate more. So if the first guy says black then the next guy knows his hat is black, but the guy in front of him has a white hat so he can say bllack annunciating the "bl" more which would be a clue to the guy in front of him that even though he is saying black you really have a white hat on. Then the guy with the white hat knows that even though he is hearing black he really has a white hat on. Then the 3rd guy has a black hat on so the guy could say white which would be correct, but if he annunciates the "wh" more than the rest of the word the guy in front of him would know that even though he is hearing white he really has a black hat on.
  25. Hey Ape, have you ever thought of making this more of a free structure so to speak? In other words you add steel beams to span the floor seperations and attach the ceiling/floor joist to the beams. This way there are NO load bearing walls in the house with the exception of the exterior walls. Also on your plans there seemed to be a big column right where the entry to the ground floor movie room is. If you used the steel beams you could probably eliminate that and just need to add a steel column there that would easily fit inside of a standard wall. Only reason I ask is that it seems like you are still playing with the layout, seeing as you are about to pour the slab its getting close to finalize everything. Using the steel beams would allow you to get the perimeter framing done and the house closed in before you have to lock yourself into a layout. The only things you would have to be dead set on is where the plumbing enters the slab on the ground floor.
