  1. Yeah mine is more of a creamy white as well. So were the gens I compared it to at the AD. However it does get more of a white white when outside in the sunlight or under bright lights.
  2. The problem with an implanted chip is unless someone knows you have it, or has the proper equipment to read it, it is useless. ID tags such as bracelets, dogtags, USB tags ect.. are all great provided they stay where they are supposed to. Best bet, get your ink done. Then even though the fear may still be there you will know that all that can be done, is done.
  3. Believe me I know all to well, I had to go back and re-read what I typed to make sure I really typed it and didn't just think I typed it. As for the logo swap, there is a thread somewhere that shows it, as I understand it the logo has two feet that go through the dial, you can get both logos off with a little finessing then put Silix's logo onto the UPO dial and re-glue from behind the dial. Here is what I am trying to plan Gen hands as they are not all that expensive and by the time you source Silix's hands and have them re-lumed you would probably spend more than buying the gen. Gen crown and tube, for looks the rep will do but to avoid stripping that is famous with the rep crown and tube might as well get the gen He valve, can't see any real reason to buy the gen on that Here is where I am getting crossed up. Gen dial, the UPO dial is pretty good, with the logo swap you would probably need a loupe to tell the difference. So I am thinking a re-lumed and logo swapped UPO dial and spend the money I save buying a gen bezel. I realize that the insert is the only thing useable on it but its the one thing that can't be fixed any other way. Also I guess I always could throw the bezel, sans insert, on the bay and possibly re-coupe a little of the money spent. Last thing is the crystal. The gen has that hue to it that gives the dial a deep indago look from certian angles. You can see this in the pics Lani posted comparing gen AR to Chief's. I have looked seen the gen at the AD on many occasions and this is always something I notice. While chief's AR probably is better than the gen it is not true to the gen and will take away the indago effect. My thought process is this - how much does it cost to have the rep AR stripped and then have the crystal re-AR'ed by chief? Add to that any shipping back and fourth and I figure I might as well pony up a few more bucks and get the gen crystal. Again I have the possibility of selling off the rep AR crystal here to make a few bucks back.
  4. Thats why I said "Switch Omega logo from Silix's dial to UPO dial"
  5. Just so I am clear on this one. Silix's PO has the bad markers, but the hands on Silix's PO are longer and therefore more true to gen than the shorter hands on the UPO? I had also heard that Silix's lug width is not the true 22mm. So realisticly what it seems we need is: UPO as a base Switch hands from Silix's PO to UPO Switch Omega logo from Silix's dial to UPO dial get it re-lumed, have the crystal AR'd by Cheif or K2 and then that would be an Ultimate PO save for the bezel insert.
  6. $351.00 from Ofrei will get you the strap and clasp. http://www.ofrei.com/page750.html Blue Rubber Strap OME-97988082 - $192.00 or Black Rubber Strap OME-97996082 - $192.00 Clasp: Omega Deployment Clasp for Selected Rubber Straps OME-94531803 - $159.00 I will admit whils most often the SMP is seen on a bracelet, I am really liking the look of the rubber option....but for $351 plus shipping?????
  7. X's 2. I would purchase 1 for $100 shipped. Possibly would push to $120 shipped if it is on par with the Gen dial.
  8. Great write up, not overly long but covered all the good info. Your photos have me wanting to get my hands on one of these. Any chance you have the pertinant info on the correct crown and tube? P/N's or where to source them from?
  9. and here is another curve ball for you. The Jap Quartz version with the diamond markers and bezel looks like it moves the date window closer to the center than the non diamond jap quartz version, yet not as close as the swiss quartz version. http://www.jpc8118.com/cha01002-white-cera...07.html?image=0 It almost seems like this would be the best compromise. I think we can pick out the flaws quickly because thats all we do however having one of the wife's friends spot the date window is highly unlikely. The only question left with the "diamond" bezel is how does it look from say 2-3' away?? Then again there is always the possibility of asking the dealer to sell you a spare bezel from the swiss quartz version. If you were able to do that I think the only real flaw would be the date window being about 1mm too far to the outside of the case, being a white dial with white date wheel I think you would have to get pretty close on it to even see it.
  10. So I have been looking into getting my wife a white 33mm quartz J12. So like anyone else I began to search our respected dealers and search here for others who have bought one, comparisons to gen, ect..ect.. I checked Chanel's website but the 33mm quartz is not even listed or shown on there. I have seen some for sale on a few sites that are gens but the pictures are not big enough. I have also noticed some differences between the gen and rep with the most obvious being the location of the date window. For instance the gen here: http://www.jomashop.com/chanel-watch-h0968.html - You can see the date window located right where the inner ring meets the outer ring. Then here Josh's rep: http://www.jpc8118.com/cha10011-white-cera...80.html?image=0 - the date window sites closer to the outside of the case. Then this one of Josh's: http://www.jpc8118.com/cha10012-white-cera...60.html?image=0 - the date window looks close to gen The difference between the two from Josh seems to be the bezel, I would assume everything else was the same but the date window is obviously different as well. So is this something where the only way to get the most accurate watch is to get the CZ bezel or does anyone know if the date window differences occur in the gen as well??
  11. Scoobs - Looking at the "Best Version" cartel watch, the dial printing looks alot cleaner than the "Ultimate" cartel dial you have posted above. http://www.jpc8118.com/000000pn08803-marin...est-p-5126.html Is your dail the same as this one or is it just that your close up shows the overfill on the A's better than the stock photos??
  12. now if only he would get the PVD version
  13. Sorry have to ask what is QoS??
  14. I would be in for one with the orange numbers & black bezzel.
  15. Yeah just remembered about the ETA DW.
  16. Thats what I thought I just wanted to be sure. Thanks, yeah I know there are flaws but I think a re-lume, some double AR, and new bezel insert with a better pearl would make it a knock out. Even though the gen does not have AR with that dial how could one resist.
  17. Correct, so this version of the rep would be pretty close to gen right http://www.joshwatch.com/omse10008-300m-pr...800-p-1933.html
  18. Is this a gen?? http://cgi.ebay.com/Omega-Seamaster-Profes...id=p3286.c0.m14 It appears to have the clown feet logo and no line through the OMEGA. If it is gen the the older version with the white "Seamaster" text is correct right??
  19. I was hoping to scoop up and SMP chrono soon and was hoping to get the new version but with the obvious logo problems thats out and Ofrie wants $300+ for the gen dial. A question the old version with the white Seamaster text. Did the Gen of this version have the line through OMEGA? Also the white version has the clown feet logo is that a mistake or did the gen have the clown feet as well?
  20. Are you sure about that? I thought it was from outside of the bezel @ 9 to outside of the bezel @ 3 which works out to 44mm on the SOSF I just measured.
  21. Is there a new version of the Chrono Avenger out?? I looked through all of our dealers but have yet to find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
  22. I believe thats how the gen is, I think the rep has it a few mm too low i.e. on the 10 but going more towards 9 than 11.
  23. I feel like an idiot for asking but.....Who exactly is Mr. Wu??
  24. Yes very close, about the only things I can spot is the obvious and discussed lume dot mishaps, the 11 on the rep seems to be closer to the subdial than on the gen and the rep Breit logo seems less crisp in the wings area than the gen.
  25. Yes and no. The bands are the same with exception to finish however the endlinks are NOT the same. SOSF endlinks are curved at the case and Skyland endlinks are straight at the case. You coulc always get the shiny SS bracelet with the skyland and use a 3M scotch brite pad to give it the same finish as the SOSF bracelet. Not sure how it would look considering the Skyland is a polished case though..
