  1. roll on v2 with updated caseback markings but incorrect date window on dial...then v3 with correct dial and thinner omega logo but seamaster engraved on clasp...then v4 etc etc haha yea overall its pretty solid, shame about some of the flaws...im 90% ready to get a 45mm after cny and see if my theory is correct on it using the same crystal as the older 45mm upo by buying a gen older style crystal and seeing if it will indeed fit this case...if it doesnt, can always flip the watch to another buyer and list the gen crystal on ebay to the highest bidder...but if it works...mmmmmmm
  2. love to know this too...from some angles it looks printed/lightly engraved...should be an easy thing to remove either way then polish and brush the area...
  3. "a rep is a rep, AR or not..." hmmmm yea a rep will always be miles apart from its gen counterpart, and yeah a few can get ott with the nitpicking etc BUT when its described as having double AR with highest clarity crystal and hume just like gen etc etc when it clearly doesnt is pretty misleading...the 42mm obviously has a better crystal...i think alot of people were just dissapointed about the 45mm being described wrong...
  4. initially i think everyone reading thought you could only afford one...and one only...now your asking about another very low end rep? why didnt you just get one watch for around the $60 to $80 mark which would've been better than 2 very cheap ones...? the sales corner is always good to check too-some real bargains to be had on times. in regards to the watch above its so so...but have you not considered other genuine brands such as casio, seiko, rotary etc? seiko 5 autos are especially good value, great lume, auto movement, and a number of styles to choose from...plus you will have a warranty and resale value...id rather that at that price point than trying to get one over on mates...enjoy watches for the love of them-not how they make others think of you, then again im older and wiser! at the end of the day, your money, your spending...so if you like something just go for it :-)
  5. +1 aqua terra, you have a dive watch in the planet ocean xl-so something sporty yet totally different will add variety! im pretty tempted by the quartz model myself...seen one on sale where i live from £1750 to £1195...but after recently forking out on my gen superocean i dont think the missus will be too chuffed...then again what she dont know wont hurt her :-P
  6. the colour on the new reps is correct, the bezel colour on the gens when viewed under the shiny lights of an AD's window is indeed a grey colour, but if you look up some gen watch pics on google of the 8500 planet ocean it appears more charcoal/black, especially in naturel light. it pretty common for watches with fancy bezels or dials etc to look different colours under different lighting, ive viewed the gen under naturel daylight and it does appear darker. these new reps definatley dont have the liquid metal gloss black inserts, for a start, just looking at some qc pics and forum pics-the bezel is matte finish like the gen. its a pretty good rep, i may bite the bullet and order, but tbh im not totally won over just yet...
  7. Yea the gen orange bezel is steel also, still gotta love the orange though! Did you go 45mm or 42?
  8. a pumpkin? post pics when arrived!
  9. anybody get qc pics of a pumpkin yet?? wouldnt mind seeing what they look like apart from the dealer website pics...
  10. yup, i reported also stateing the flaws...and contacted the seller advising him to check against pictures of the genuine watch on either the omega website or google images to see what im on about...had no response and as of last night listing is still up...i know exactly what you mean about wifes/girlfriends etc buying gifts and that would be pretty bad...even if its not for a gift and the buyer is factoring in repair costs the second that gets sent off to omega he/she wont be getting the watch back...as i said if the seller is in the pawn game he should have knowledge and people to call upon to appraise his items, he states his own watchmaker has checked it over as genuine-well hes either a rubbish watchmaker or thats a blatant lie...odd though that he has other high end watches, genuine, with box and papers...a quick scout around ebay shows one or two rep planet oceans (bad ones not even upo standard...) and a few smp's that are questionable...i think half the time the seller has no idea, the other half know its a rep and use sentences such as "lost paperwork in house move" "was my grandads watch and i know nothing about it" "looks all original but bid accordingly" etc etc...buyer beware always! i doubt this auction will be pulled due to the feedback, ebay wanting a cut of the sale price, and if ebay did check the listing the watch features a serial number and correct markings inside the caseback etc...although all rep, ebay may agree with the seller its gen due to these being present...
  11. cousinsuk in the uk, ofrei in the US...as i said i have a funny feeling the crystals used on these are the same as the ones used in the previous replica 45mm and 42mm planet oceans...both of which you could fit a genuine crystal to...if thats the case, that same genuine crystal should fit this new case...but until someone pays out the £160 odd to try for certain we wont know! suppose you could always measure the crystal diameter and compare it the genuine...the AR on the new 42mm rep is pretty damn good though, just a shame about the 45mm...especially as some of the larger new breitling rep crystals have absolutley superb crystals installed in them...
  12. no probs buddy! TD's will give good service, get you your watch to you etc instead of just running off with your cash! but sometimes actual real world pictures take center stage over descriptions on the websites...if the crystals are from the older planet oceans like i said earlier, the older genuine planet ocean cystals should fit these cases...
  13. TD or not, the qc pics of the 45mm show little or no AR coating...take a pic of a watch with double AR and the crystal will all but disappear...take a pic of a watch with inner or no AR and you will see a white glare with mirror effect...thats why on the qc pics posted, you can see the refelection of the camera on the 45mm, and pretty much no reflection of the camera on the 42mm...the 45mm definitely does not have good AR, if at all...another big point is that the white glare you see on the pics would appear purple/blue if it had the full AR treatment of the 42mm...
  14. +1 with sgt...he had the caseback off, showed the antimagnetic cover and inner caseback but no movement shot-it would be a decorated a7750 in there which if you had no idea would fool the average buyer...ignorant bliss on the buyer maybe, but beats me why people just dont do a little research and google searches take what? minutes or less to find pics to compare the listing to...oh well, buyer beware and buy the seller not the watch springs to mind-but in this case the seller had the great feedback too...
  15. i would say 100% that the 45mm has single or no AR, the 42mm has double AR...and with a pleasing blue tint...looking at some real world pics of these 2 reps, im wondering if they have used the crystal from the 45mm original UPO and the v5 42mm planet ocean...both of which accept genuine crystals (from the original genuine planet oceans...) if so, the original genuine crystal available from cousinsuk etc would fit the new ceramic PO's...
  16. hour and minute hands too short, subdial hands too short, no part number on end links, this model should have blue lume too-not green, pearl is wrong on the insert. its defo not gen...odd from his username he appears to be some kind of pawnshop...another one slips through on an unsuspecting buyer it would seem, could be that the seller had no idea also, but if your in that business you should atleast have a knowledge or know somebody who does about items such as this...saying to take it to an omega service center may suggest the seller has no idea, especially as doing so you would not get that watch back once omega got their hands on it...
  17. not good practice, holding peoples watches to ransom? come on...this is a bad state of affairs. both parties were warned, both parties were given friendly advice by members on a amicable solution, unfortunatley both parties would not back down... funny thing is i met gotahavearolexnow in person, to finish a deal as he lived local to me at the time (going back around 8 months...) and he was a genuine nice guy, easy to chat to, had a nice collection he showed me etc... just a shame that stick some people behind a computer and all rationality can go out the window...
  18. well done ry! your one of the first guys i started chatting to on here, gutted my life probs ment i dissapeared for a while but its been great getting in touch again! top contributor, great work on your watches and i'll buy you a pint if ever we meet in person!
  19. superb! one of my all time fave watches, i've owned the new style and also the helson sharkmaster 600m, but an original gen is unbeatable!
  20. about as good as it gets, accept, wear, be happy!
  21. the one available from puretime and a few others is the older limited edition liquid metal planet ocean, a good looking rep and a great genuine watch too...but totally different to the newer ceramic models...word has it the ceramic planet oceans will be released in rep form soon so stay tuned!
  22. have you looked at some offerings from rotary? this one has always taken my eye http://www.firstclasswatches.co.uk/rotary-gents-automatic-gs0251806-p-3567.html comes in yellow gold colour too. and looking around can be found pretty damn cheap...similar to your pic too...
