  1. Don't get the Quartz one, spend a bit more and get a movement which is better and closer to the gen. And since Tag Heuer puts ETA rubbish with a fancy Caliber XY name in their watches anyway you have a movement which is just as good (after a proper service).
  2. Yeah the lume is as good as my gen Tag Heuer Aquaracer. The pics were shot with an iPhone 4s, so i can't adjust exposure time and the lume looks weak. But it really is sufficient. The thing i've noticed after wearing it a bit is the clasp does not close properly, there is a little 2-3mm gap in the middle of the Patek logo. And the polished metal is extreamly fingerprint prone. I have never kept it clean for more than 30mins . Nice watch overall, but my daily beater is still my Planet Ocean Seamaster (which now feels like 100 pounds ). The movement looks surprisingly good as the gen does not have a micro rotor like the Nautilus. It has been over a year since I've seen the gen but someone who only vaguely knows the gen can even be fooled by the movement, which is a bonus compared to the Nautilus, where it is a dead giveaway.
  3. really? From the pics i would pick the white one. But then again, there is less room for error with a white dial.
  4. The hand color is really difficult to get right, I wouldn't count on that any time soon. Certainly to date the best out of the box Explorer II reps. Which color do you guys think is more accurate, the white or black? It's hard to tell from the pics. The white has a side by side comparison with a gen, the black one doesn't. Does that mean they didn't have a black dial original and therefore the rep would be less accurate?
  5. i'm not a Breitling expert but the general quality of the watch seems good, i would ask for a lume shot as this is a vital feature of a diving watch. And maybe you can ask him to change the date so you can see if the look of the date improves. But generally you shouldn't be disappointed with Andrew, i always love the watches i bought from him.
  6. Hey guys, the postman dropped my new Patek Phillipe Aquanaut off this morning, I'm exited to wear it and will post my first impressions and some pics. Dial Band Caseback Clasp Lumeshot Wristshot It is the ETA-Version which I got from Andrew, it looks really nice and the quality of the fit an finishing is amazing compared to my Planet Ocean rep. It is really well made, I especially love the dial, you cannot see it on the pics but is really is a 1:1 rep. As I have no long term experience with the accuracy yet I can't vouch for that, but Anderew calibrated it to +3s before shipping and I expect it to be really accurate. The two things which I do not love are the clasp, which feels a bit flimsy and cheap, it does not close 100% and leaves a small gap, and I find the finishing on the movement to be a bit lazy. The genuine Aquanaut is a normal 21k rotor and not some crazy off center micro rotor movement, so with some more finishing and correct engravings the movement really could be nearly 1:1 as well. I'd happily pay 100 bucks more for that. The lume is much better than on the pic, i think it's better than my Omega Seamaster PO. With the Omega being my daily beater I found the Patek to be incredibly light, lighter than almost any watch I have ever worn. It almost feels too light and a bit toy-like. As i do not have the weight of the genuine or a digital scale I cannot say if this is down to the rep or if it's just the normal feel of the rep. But I still love the feel on the wrist, you hardly notice it, it's understatement at it's best, in a very beautiful and comfortable package. Great rep!
  7. hmm thanks guys, as long as they do not make a good non chrono rep this one is a no go for me . It would be a better use of the factories time to recreate such an iconic watch than pump out 2000000 new pam clone models a week.
  8. Hey guys, I just stumbled onto this Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Chronograph from Andrew, has anybody had any hands-on time with this or the non-chrono version? And how accurate are these reps. If you know a good place to get a better Blancpain rep I would appreciate the advice as this is my first experience with Blancpain. The watch: http://www.yourtrust...roducts_id=4645 A pic to the gen: Edit 1: I have just found this at Kingwatches: http://www.kingwatches.net/BLANCPAIN-013.htm It looks much better than the trusty one.
  9. You complain about 40 bucks, come on I pay either 45 or 55 bucks plus 20$ for the UK options so I there is no customs risk or delay. By the way, its there any other member from Hungary on the board? I am a german who lives part time in hungry as part of my medical studies and I'm not sure if the 20 bucks for the UK option are even necessary. But as I speak nearly no Hungarian and could not fill our any Customs paperwork or even go there and pick up my watch I choose the safe option. Any other member from Hungary here who can tell me if the UK transfer is necessary?
  10. yes, i would consider the hands on the black one a dead giveaway. but on the white one the real hands are black as well. so one less problem?
  11. Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying the 2011 Explorer and Andrew has just posted some QC sample pics. http://imgur.com/a/o6Foj#oWRUg This is the link to the watch with a vid, black and white dial versions: http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_4&products_id=7745 http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_4&products_id=7744 I'm not an explorer expert and have not yet seen the new 42mm one in person. How accurate is this rep and can it be used without any mods as a daily watch or are there obvious tells like in some older explorer 2 reps. And which color rep is closer to the gen, white or black or are they both the same? I hope you can help me.
  12. i don't own one, but the quartz version is clearly way off, i wouldn't consider that one.
  13. Hey guys, I've had this watch for about a month now and wanted to share my thoughts about it with you. First some pics: Dial: Strap: Clasp: Crown: Back: Wristshot: It's powered by an ETA calibre, the power reserve and accuracy are excellent. The watch does seem smaller than the 42mm diameter and can be worn as a sporty dress watch, though some people use it as their daily beater (I have my PO and my Aquaracer for that). At 12 mm, it does fit under a dress shirt or suit, barely, but it's certainly not a replacement for a real ultra thin dress watch. Overall quality of the rep is very good, and as there have been comparisons with the gen before, I'm just going to mention the two flaws which are most apparent to me and bother me (slightly). 1. The cross is too small and different than gen. 2. The wrong date wheel font Other than these it is a beautiful rep and I especially love the way they managed to rep the bracelet which is one of the nicest designs I have ever seen. The Vacheron Constantin name is pure understatement, which makes it easier to wear than a Rolex without causing envy or hate. I can recommend this watch to any collection, if you want to extensively wear it you should maybe swap out the cross. I'm thinking of giving the rep to my father and actually buying a genuine Dual Time one next year.
  14. hey guys, I just had my daily look at the trusty site and saw a very cute pair of new rolexes. They are from the Project X modding company, which I did not previously know, but it's basically the same as Pro Hunter, just less well known. http://www.yourtrust...roducts_id=8890 http://www.yourtrust...roducts_id=8891 I personally find the blue edition very sexy and think this might be my first rolex purchase. From the pics what do you think of the quality of the rep (i have only ever worn a Milgauss, this is my first closer look at the Explorer) Secondly, how does the PVD coating qualify this watch as a daily beater (especially since this is not a nato strap but a pvd metal bracelet). Can it be worn every day or do would I live in constant fear of every little scratch? And if it's not a daily watch how about a dress watch? (I'm desperately in need of one) As the Rolex is modded in my opinion it would be unlikely for it to be called out as a rep, especially since there are only very few gen ones.) Am i right? (Though it would be awkward to meed the person who owns the gen one with the same number ) Lastly it should be noted that the gen orange one is sold out. I think this is a very interesting watch and I look forward to comments from the more Rolex or Pro Hunter experienced users on the forum.
  15. Hey guys, I was looking to get a Nautilus for my father. My mother already has this one: http://www.yourtrust...roducts_id=7129 She is really pleased with it. I now saw the "matching" men's version of this watch in the jumbo size, but with a brown leather strap and the same white dial. http://www.yourtrust...roducts_id=7225 It's pricey but I would love matching watches for them. But I have never seen the White dial version in a men's size. So is this a fantasy watch or just not a current model?
  16. thanks for the advice, when I receive my PP Aquanaut from Andrew I'll decide on my next purchase. Maybe it'll be a AP ROO, maybe a rolex day-date or maybe an IWC Mark XVI. I'll keep you guys up to date with a review of my PP as soon as i get it.
  17. Great review! How does this version from trusty compare to the one reviewed? It should be the same movement. http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=30_191&products_id=8825 And secondly, would you consider the Mark XVI a suitable dress watch? Or would you recommend this Mark XV due to its smaller size: http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=30_191&products_id=967 http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=30_191&products_id=594
  18. Hey guys, I am looking to buy my first Rolex replica, and it should be a dress watch, preferably the Day-Date. Most reps like the ones from trusty time are fairly old (2008,2009 etc), so my question is: has a really good rep been achieved and the dealers just stopped trying or did they give up due to lack of demand or good results? Which model would you recommend which looks closest to the gen (white g, platinum, rg, dial color etc) or would you say it would be best to get a normal Datejust rep. If you say the date just reps are much better, which specific model comes closest the genuine. Rolex reps are so numerous i find it difficult to keep track (trusty has nearly 200 different day date models for example) I hope some of you rolex experts can help someone just coming into the brand out, thanks in advance fischyyy
  19. Thanks for the warm welcome and the advice! It is a nice daily beater watch, perfect for the wear and tear i have as a medical student. I need to be able to wash and disinfect my hands regularly which rules out a leather strap. The metal bracelet is much easier to wear with gloves than my gen rubber strap Tag Heuer, which sometimes sticks to the gloves. Great watch, for people interested, this is the one I bought : http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_114&products_id=7064
  20. Hey guys, I just joined the forum, this is my first post and I would like to show you my new 42mm Omega Seamaster PO which I got from Andrew a few days ago. I've attached some pics and would like your opinion to the quality of the rep. Some problems I know of are the "Professional" marking on the clasp which should only be there on the 45mm model, I do not love the pearl and the numbers seemed a bit more orange in the QC pics, in person they just seem reddish . I believe that should not be the case. I'm not a rep expert, but this is not my first rep, although my first Omega. I have never seen this watch in person with the orange bezel as dealers seem only to display the black or liquimetal ones. It uses the swiss ETA movement, accuracy over the past few days has been +- 2s a day What do you think of the watch and is it likely that I am called out as to the watch not being genuine. I am currently wearing it as my daily beater.
