  1. There are a few nice pateks, there is a thread about it recently. But I'm not sure if you can still buy them. Edit: you should refer to this
  2. Neither, I would consider this one. It's a JL as well. http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=31&products_id=8907 Not 1:1 but the movement is nicely decorated and the dial is reasonably realistic, good value for the money. If you want a really accurate rep, consider a sportier watch rep. You could also consider these two: VC Patrimony: good movement, nice rotor, quite thin. http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=43&products_id=3206 A Lange: this watch was reviewed here recently, biggest problem is the "IWC" branding on the movement, otherwise quite nice http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18&products_id=6399
  3. Where did you get it? Andrew and Josh only have red or black versions, not orange.
  4. There are reps which are really unlikely to be called out as a fake, for example a good Hublot Big Bang, AP Royal Oak Offshore, Omega Planet Ocean Seamaster and to a degree (depending on your level of expertise) most "ultimate" rolex reps from good dealers. But you should consider a few things: 1) No quartz if the gen is automatic (so NO quartz at all normally) 2) No complications, moon phase, perpetual calendar etc, a Chrono and Date can be replicated well, but it ends just about there 3) You get what you pay for, if you want a really good replica you should consider spending 200-400$ depending on the model, but maintain it properly and you will have fun with is for years 4)generally sports watches have been repped way better than dress watches, so consider getting a sporty dress chrono
  5. His site is www.yourtrustytime.com. He has really awesome watches, but you get what you pay for (a 128$ rep is not going to be on par with a 340$ one) and generally I would say the ones with QC pics on the site or even a vid are a safe bet as you get a really good impression of what the watch will look like.
  6. If it doesn't have to be a 100% 1:1 rep i would try this. http://www.1-pc8838....498-p-8782.html Cheap, nice movement decor and a great dress watch. Otherwise the Vacheron Overseas with the leather strap is a nice option, it's a really accurate rep and with an ETA reliable as a daily beater as well. I own the watch with the SS band, it's a really nice watch. Understated luxury watch, yet great quality. http://www.1-pc8838....362-p-8163.html
  7. 1) Rolex Explorer II white superlumed (already ordered) 2) Hublot Big Bang v6 Full Ceramic (already ordered) 3) Rolex Yachtmaster or GMT Master II 4)IWC Pilot Mark or Big Pilot 5)Patek Calvatara or VC Patrimony Dress watch
  8. Yeah most has been said, Crown/Tube and Lume are the ones I would start with, everything else really is a bonus and not really necessary.
  9. Absolutely right. Nothing worse than sitting at the pool with your 4000m deep-dive watch and you have to take it off before jumping in while your friends with a gen seiko or explorer are swimming happily. Or if you jump in without properly checking and waterproofing it and end up having a damaged watch.
  10. But I was planning to replace my nightstand lamp with my explorer.
  11. Wow i hope it's this pic and not the lume, it looks awful. Looking forward to the nicer pic, let the blue superlume shine!
  12. Mine is getting closer, just arrived in the UK. I would love a few EOS 70d pics, maybe a few lume shots(I had a 550d and loved the low light performance at high ISO setts) to keep me busy for the next 7-12 days till it finally arrives. I will sleep better when I see the blue lume is as awesome as on Andrews site.
  13. Shoukd be available from all AD's. http://www.1-pc8838.com/bl10069-navitimer-world-ssle-asia-7750-chronos-28800-p-6033.html
  14. What about the Day-Date Carrera or the Grand Carrera? The open case back with the ugly-ish rotor would bother me. There are much nicer movements designs on Carrera reps available.
  15. They will probably get around to it, as the AT is a really nice understated watch. But the pic you posted is of the horrible "Golf Version", which is supposed to be a golf watch because they use a bit of green on the dial. Ridiculous marketing by Omega.
  16. Well you must have a good dealer who can spot it "right away". It's a fairly accurate rep, normally you should not be called out, at least not until you put it down next to a gen. But that's why we should never wear a rep to an AD. Especially if he carries the brand of rep you're wearing.
  17. Looking forward to a Mark XVII, with superlume and a nice custom strap this will be an awesome watch.
  18. Nice, mine is just leaving China today. With the UK detour it will be another 10-12 days at least.
  19. Great review, really nice watch. If they would release a superlumed version it would be an instant buy.
  20. There are nice reps of the Project X mods out there, but only for the 39mm version. Check Josh or Andrews site, they are awesome.
  21. It's called World for a reason, it's a GMT watch. You can wind it using the crown, but better set it and wear it as winding may shorten the movements life span.
  22. Not my type of watch personally, but http://www.1-pc8838.com/0si01017-sspvdru-black-swiss-2836-p-8742.html looks fine to me.
  23. Don't buy it! Select a trusted dealer and order online, you get QC pics and can be sure that you actually get what you pay for. You might have to wait longer for shipping, but it will be worth it. Buying from some random dude is risky even for an experienced watch collector, as a first rep it's a total no-go.
  24. Jost and Andrew offer the EU shipment option. This should eliminate any customs problems.
