Haha... Looks nice!

Oh, I'm not sure about that. I'll need to find out what the job entails and then make that decision. I wouldn't mind buying a few tools to do it myself if it's not too expensive. I've heard several people talk about switching the crowns out like its easy, but I've got no idea.

You're breaking rule #10

Yea, I guess I do like bigger watches, but not too big. I had the 42mm PO for about an hour and I thought it looked good. I know it's too late now for this one, but I've been considering getting a 45mm with a black bezel (I think this means I have the addiction!) I'm planning on installing the gen crown and tube almost as soon as I get this, so i will be picking everyone's brains soon. I've heard it's easy, but I want to make sure I'm prepared to do it right. I ordered that Rodico you suggested btw, thanks for the advice!

Come on guys, I think we can get this thread to over 300 posts! Anyway, I just talked to Andrew about my PO I sent back. He said he was sending me a new piece. I'm really looking forward to getting it back. Here's a question for you guys: I got the 42mm but now I'm starting to think I should have gotten the 45mm. I have a 7.0" wrist, do you think 42mm is better suited for that size wrist?

Also... Congrats on the purchase! I don't think you'll regret it, I know I don't!

Someone else asked the same thing. I'm not 100% sure because it's so small and very difficult to see with the naked eye, and don't have a loupe. But my guess is that it's a decal and not engraved. But it looks very good, and looks as good as engraved (I'm not sure its not).

Man, that sucks... -
Sorry for the late reply on this one, I must have missed it the first time. I'm not sure whether you're asking if anything is left on the tissue or the strap, but the answer to both is no...

Well, I haven't tested it myself just yet. I will certainly test that soon and report back. However, the QC photos showed +4s/d when hooked up to the timegraph. Right now I am checking the power reserve. I wound the watch on Sunday at 3:00PM on the mark. Right now it is 5:20PM two days later and it is still ticking away. So far that's more than 50 hours, which is way more than I expected out of it. I'll let you guys know what the final tally is, but right now I'm ecstatic with 50+ hours!

REVIEW - Rolex Deep Sea Sea Dweller (DSSD) Ultimate
vandal.tbh replied to vandal.tbh's topic in The Rolex Area
Thanks! I've actually got a 42mm PO that is on it's way back to Andrew for a crown/stem issue out of the box. I'm looking forward to reviewing that when it gets back. The next purchase (probably after the PO gets back) is going to be the Tag Aquaracer 500M. I love the looks of it and almost bought the gen a few months back. It's very well reviewed. -
Well, funny thing is that I had to send the watch back as soon as I got it because the crown/stem wasn't engaging the movement correctly. So maybe I should have gone with the cheaper version myself!

Now that I'm aware of the vanilla scent, I definitely smell it. I guess I need to read up on that. How long does the scent last?

Well this is my first PAM so I can't compare it to a similar non-titanium model. It is considerably lighter than the Rolex DSSD. However, it still has a nice solid feel to it. Although its lighter than normal due to the titanium case, it certainly doesn't feel cheap. Hope this helps!

REVIEW - Rolex Deep Sea Sea Dweller (DSSD) Ultimate
vandal.tbh replied to vandal.tbh's topic in The Rolex Area
Well, I am just going by what the listing on the website said, but it looks like titanium to me. If its painted, I would be shocked. I was thinking about taking the back off to look at the movement so maybe I'll be able to tell if I do that. I'll let you know.. -

Sweet, that's what I thought. I was going to buy a bezel/case press and give it a try. Thanks! -
I paid $343 with shipping for my PO. Just don't want you short changing me...
-
Ah thanks, I'll try to find some of that, thanks Cougar. Yea, the prints are very hard to see, but once you notice them, it's hard not to!

Funny, I never heard of the vanilla scent thing before. If i put my nose right up to it, there is a faint scent. As far as the wording, I had to look really closely and it's still hard to tell without a loupe, but my guess is no, it's a decal. But it's a good looking decal in my opinion.

Haha, I thought the same thing afterwards. I'll get a more manly color for the next one!

Reps discussed on gen forum...almost balanced opinion!
vandal.tbh replied to cougar1's topic in General Discussion
The funny thing is, I stumbled into the rep scene while shopping for a gen PO. I was on this thread: http://forums.watchu...ake-542065.html I found out that none of the gen "experts" could tell the difference between a gen and a rep. I don't chime in until page 4. But I quickly learned that most of these guys are douchebags with a superiority complex. I had to ask then, and I still ask now, where's the value in paying an additional $4200 for a gen watch when almost no one can tell the the difference?? -
