  1. I've been selling on eBay since 2001. I hate what eBay has become. I couldn't agree with you more. They took a great thing and made it suck. It seems like no one can leave a good thing alone anymore. Something becomes good...then some $hithead thinks he has to make more money off it...then he alters it..then it sucks. It happens over and over and over. i mean seriously...how much F'ing money does eBay have to make? They make a bazillion dollars every minute. And for what? Some server space and sub-par customer service? It's ridiculous! But they've got the market. All of the market. So what they say goes. Sometimes I imagine the last scene in 'Fight Club' where they blow up all the credit buildings, and I think..."that's coming someday soon..."
  2. Here's the deal... Perfect Clones and Trusty are (in my opinion) the two best dealers out there. I've only bought from Trusty. Why? because when I came here, Andrew from Trusty was recommended to me. I bought my first rep from him and it was an outstanding experience. I then bought my second, third an forth watches from him and it was an even more outstanding experience. I have absolutely no reason to go anywhere else to buy a watch. Many people here buy from Joshua with the same experience. So my advice to you is to buy from one of these two trusted dealers and you will be fine. The watches are the watches. Many dealers have access to the same watches. The dedication to the customer is what sets these guys apart from the other dealers. You may save $20 buying from someone else, but you won't have the same buying experience. It's worth the extra...trust me.
  3. I think it's a rep from joshua...
  4. Gonna find my baby gonna hold her tight, Gonna grab some afternoon delight, My motto's always been if it's right it's right, Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night, When, everything's a little clearer in the light of day, And, we know the night will always be there anyway... Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite, Looking forward to a little afternoon delight, Rubbin sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite, And the thought of rubbin' you is getting so exciting.. Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.
  5. I've not done it, but as long as you buy a strap that fits the lug width, it should be very easy. I don't think you'll be disappointed! Good luck!
  6. I agree. I feel naked without a watch on. I'm not sure how I did it, but last week I left for work without putting one on. In the car I had an uneasy feeling that something wasn't right and that's when I realized I was watchless. I can't believe how much it affected me all day. I kept catching myself raising my wrist to look at my missing watch, even though I knew it wasn't there. The first thing I did when I got home was go straight to my watch box and put one on. One of the first things I do when I meet another man is look at their watch. I get a very good gauge of someone based on their watch. No watch at all... I just don't get it! I should start asking them for the time.
  7. My very first ever rep purchase arrived with an issue (not DOA, but a serious issue). I sent it back on my dime ($29 USD), but I got a new replacement sent back to me. I bought it from Andrew, and was so impressed with his communication and personal handling of the issue that I purchased 3 more watches from him within a month. I'm sold on him as an honest and reliable dealer! One of the things I accepted when making the decision to purchase reps over gens was that, at a small fraction of the price of the gens, I would have to give up something. Maybe not every rep shows up in perfect condition, and maybe I have to pay return shipping, but at the end of the day, I've paid thousands less for a very comparable product. And with a dealer like Andrew I know I won't be left out in the wind.
  8. My halflink does the exact same thing. I tried lubing it as well without any luck. I think I'm going to just replace it with one of the full links I removed. It could stand to be a hair looser anyway.. I think I mentioned it in my review. I also had a stem issue on the first one of these I received. But I think I had the opposite issue - my stem seemed too short. But Andrew was great about it and replaced mine with one that works great. Although with all the talk about the crown's I am very careful when screwing/unscrewing mine. I do notice it bind sometimes as I'm screwing it back in. I definitely see a crown/tube replacement in my future. I've heard it's cheap and easy.
  9. Yea, here it is: http://www.ebay.com/itm/230662280712 But I'm telling you, the stuff works but the quality is not very good. You've been warned!
  10. Speaking of whisky, a friend of mine (now my very dearest friend) sent me a bottle of 18 yr Glen Morangie scotch. I want to taste it so bad, but I also want to put it behind glass and just stare at it too. i know if I open it, it will be gone soon...
  11. Funny though, that is the same forum that got me looking at reps in the first place. I still drop by and look around, but I missed this one.
  12. Wow! I had to go back a page to see what you guys were talking about. Those are definitely my pictures, but I assure you I am not selling my watch. And I'd never try to sell it as a gen even if I were. I just did a search on eBay to see if someone is using my photos in a listing, but I couldn't find anything. Hope it's not my wife trying to get rid of it. I haven't looked in my watch box today!
  13. I bought a whole watch repair kit on eBay for $20 that was here in two days. It had a pin remover. It's cheap (by that I mean poor quality, not inexpensive), but so far everything works.
  14. I'm still fairly new to this myself, but I wouldn't be happy at all with these. Scratches, dents, glue, broken movement??? I mean come on! Even at $120, these should look new and at least work out of the box. I'd contact the dealer and send them back if it were me. Although this is the first time I've heard the name "Lawrence" mentioned on the forum...
  15. Well let me know what you're selling, maybe I would get on the wagon just yet!
  16. Me too! In the mail now... I went with the ETA.
  17. Yep, I ordered it a few days ago. Got the QC pics day before yesterday, and it just posted on EMS today. Thanks for the advice, I went with the ETA. I think it still looks nice without the pearlage.. Of course, I'll be writing another review when I get it! I'll probably use some of this discussion in the review since it went into my decision making on which one to buy. This will probably be my last watch for a little while. I've ordered four in rapid succession, and want to enjoy these for a while before I start looking at my next one (but man that Hublot Diver 4000M looks cool!). But I need to save up for a new TV, so I'm probably going to put watches on the back burner for a little while.
  18. Well at $90 / 1.5 years, over the course of 10 years I'd only pay $600. That's a savings of $2600 .... IF I had to buy a new watch every 1.5 years. Oh, and my watch would look new every year and a half. Lawyered...
  19. Funny story... A friend and I were in Bahrain. I went to the Gold Souk and bought a fairly nice looking quartz rep of the Tag Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 17 for about $90 USD. He decided to go to an AD in the mall and buy a gen Carrera Calibre 16 Chrono for $3200 USD. Exactly one week later, he found a screw bouncing around in the movement when he looked through the back crystal, and had to send it in for repair (took 2 months to get it back). My rep has been working perfectly for a year and a half.
  20. Hahaha...hilarious...and true. If you want a indestructible watch, buy a G-Shock. Or you could become like Rymeister and learn how to fix your own watches!
  21. You know? I'm starting to rethink the "20" misalignment on the bezel. I just looked at pictures of more than 20 different "gen" PO's on Google and every one of them had the same "20". Maybe mine is a gen!
  22. Haha, yea I know what you mean about the crown...but I swear it wasn't me! Thanks for the compliments about the photos. I'm using my daughter's Nikon D3100. Funny thing is that I used to be a pretty good photographer back in the day (when we used to use this stuff called "film"). So recently I wanted to get a nice camera and get back into it. But my wife was all "it's too expensive, just use your iphone", so I forgot about it. Then my daughter decides she wants to get into photography and my wife goes and buys her the Nikon and some sweet lenses for Christmas. And I'm there like "wtf?". So now I gotta borrow my daughter's camera to take good pictures. But I guess i should count myself lucky to just have access to my daughter's camera...that my wife bought her...with my money.
  23. Thanks for the advice on the movement guys! I'll read up on those links you posted Cougar. I trust Andrew to provide what he's advertising, and I noted that my movement looked identical to the one he's got on his website. Someone asked the question, and I had no idea myself. @Lovecraft, I've heard some people talk about the springs that hold the release buttons in place and how they get bent or something. Mine seem fine, so I hope it stays that way. I love the clasp on this watch.
