  1. Well, the one from asia7750 is a dead link. The other is a link to a watch that Josh at Perfect Clones sells. I don't know much about asia7750, but Josh is one of the most trusted sellers around. Spend the extra money and go with Josh...
  2. I don't see the problem. I'm looking forward to delving into the addiction with much anticipation.
  3. I'm writing this response without reading the 3 or 4 pages of replies first because I felt strongly about what you said in the first post. I'm guessing many people have already said the same thing. I've only gotten into this recently. I purchased a few quartz reps a couple of years ago in Bahrain. They look pretty nice and I wear them a lot. They could be immediately called out by anyone who knew watches, but they have kept perfect time and they look nice so I don't care. I've always had a fascination with watches, especially mechanical watches. I was going to buy a gen PO, but then I found out how incredible reps had become. I ordered one, then immediately ordered two more. I'm not sure I ever would have purchased a rep without this forum. I was too skeptical that I'd get ripped off or be extremely disappointed. In fact By-Tor, it was your review on the UPO that convinced me to get it. It was a great review and was exactly what I was looking for. I looked up every review I could find. I wanted to see everything that was written about these reps. When my watches arrive, I'm going to write my own reviews. I'll just say, that maybe you're right about the more experienced members being bored or jaded. But to those of us that are new to this, it's exciting. I'm like a kid the night before Christmas, waiting for my watches to arrive. But I have realistic expectations and plans. And that's because of you and the other experienced forum members. I thank you guys for that! The power of forums is awesome. I have saved an incredible amount of time and money by doing research on forums. I literally rebuilt a jet ski by following tutorials on a Sea Doo forum. Now it's one of the sweetest skis on the water. I'm glad reps have developed into what they are today. I'm excited to have found an affordable way to immerse myself in something I love. And I'm grateful that forums like this exist so that we can all share the knowledge of experience. I'm hoping someday I can be the old guy helping out the new guy on this forum!
  4. Andrew runs Trusty time (www.yourtrustytime.com). I wasn't sure which watch you meant, so I linked all three: Planet Ocean 42mm Orange Bezel: http://www.yourtrust...roducts_id=7064 Rolex Deep Sea Sea Dweller: http://www.yourtrust...roducts_id=6579 Panerai PAM 177 Titanium: http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=37_49&products_id=8784 I've got a few more I'm going to buy in the near future, but I'm going to get settled in with these first. I almost bought a gen Tag Aquaracer 500M, and I've heard the rep is very nice, so that will probably be my next purchase. I also like the IWC Top Gun and Portuguese Chrono. As for getting called out, I honestly couldn't care less. I look at it like this, I was actually researching the PO to purchase a gen. I was on WUS forum and I ran across a thread in the "Omega Fake Busters" section. Someone had posted a picture of the UPO up there and no one on the forum could believe it was fake. I asked myself why I was buying a real PO for $4500 when a $330 rep was almost indistinguishable. The rep came with a reliable swiss ETA movement, and looked identical to the real watch. I'm not a diver and even if I was, I would buy a good Seiko to knock around doing that, not a $4500 Omega. And yes, I get it. The Omega is the real deal. It's perfect and beautiful and will last forever with the right care. I could pass it on as an heirloom. And if I was a wealthier man there's no doubt I'd go that way. I almost bought a gen anyway. But if they're going to make a rep that is so close to the gen at a small fraction of the price, I can't see the sense in spending the extra. I mean I could buy 13 reps for the cost of one gen. Thirteen! Or... I could buy 1 PO rep, 1 Rolex DSSD rep, 1 PAM 177 rep, 1 Tag Aquaracer 500M rep, 1 IWC Top Gun rep, 1 IWC Portuguese Chrono rep, a few bottles of 18 year old Macallan Scotch, a case of Cuban cigars and still have enough left over to buy a used car! I think we can all agree that no matter how nice the Omega Planet Ocean is, it's over priced. I was talking to an Omega AD a few weeks ago, and he told me that Omega is reducing the number of AD's in order to make Omega a more exclusive brand. It's marketing strategy. They are raising the brand value without increasing the product's quality. Are you really getting $4500 worth of value when you buy the gen PO? I'd argue that you are not. Especially when you can put an identical looking watch on your wrist for $330. I've owned reps before. I have a Tag Grand Carrera 17, a U-Boat "Thousands of Feet" Chrono, a Bell & Ross BR03-93 and a Breitling Chronomat. I got all 4 of these watches in Bahrain. With the exception of the Breitling, they are good quality reps but they all have quartz movements. Is that bad? I don't know. Anyone who knows anything about watches can almost immediately see that they are not automatic movements. But I'll say this, they all have kept perfect time for more than 2 years. And all 4 cost me less than $300. I've been complimented several times on the B&R and the U-Boat. Average people don't know those brands and the watches look unique. Anyway, my point is, if someone were to call me out for wearing a replica watch I'd freely and proudly admit it. They are unarguably nice watches. The PO I bought is absolutely beautiful. It looks and feels like the real thing. Even if it doesn't last and I have to replace it every year, I could go more than 13 years before I finally paid as much as a gen. I'm sure that in those 13 years something newer and better will come out that I will want more anyway.
  5. I love this watch! Nice job with the AR. I want one with a black strap. thanks for the photos!
  6. WetWork (love the name btw), I was in the same exact boat you were in with trying to find the right watch, and more importantly the right dealer. All I can say is thank God for this forum. I know Cougar mentioned my problem with the crown on the PO I received in one of the replies above. But I bought from Andrew and Trusty Time and dispite the issue, he has been awesome so far. First off, Cougar is right on the money in saying that the QC photos make the watch look a little "bland". I think it's because everything around the watch is white and brightly lit, I don't know. But they don't do the watch justice. When mine arrived, it was absolutely beautiful. I really didn't want to send it back. I did a lot of reading on the forum and I chose Andrew. However, I could have just as easily gone with Josh. They basically do business the same way and I'm even told they are friends. Andrew's communication has been outstanding, and I received the watch 7 days after I ordered it, which amazed me. And he didn't hesitate at all to fix the problem I was having with the watch. I sent it back to him a few days ago but it hasn't arrived there yet. I don't expect to have any issues with the repair/replacement. In fact, I was so pleased with how Andrew does business that I ordered two more watches from him before the first one was even fixed. I got the QC pics for the second two watches the next day and the day after that they were shipped. I'm expecting them any day. Once I get all three watches back, I plan to write Andrew a glowing review. I'm also planning on writing a through review on each watch. I don't think I'd buy from anyone but Andrew or Josh. Not because there aren't other good dealers, but once you've found the best, why go anywhere else?
  7. I'd wait at least a week before you start worrying about shipping. EMS shipping doesn't update at every stop. I hadn't heard about mine for a few days and then all of a sudden it was at my door. I went with the 42mm as well and it's great. I think I could have gotten the 45mm too and it would have been fine. Either way you can't go wrong.
  8. I believe the deepest dive without some kind of hard suit is 1083'.
  9. I could swear I've seen a photo of a DSSD (not sure gen or rep) that had the crown.
  10. That has to be the only reasonable answer!! Who pays over 6 grand for a PP from a dude with a feedback of 129? Who hasn't sold another high end watch? You'd have to be brain damaged... But thinking about it, why wouldn't he use photos of a gen?
  11. I'd just send the phone. I wouldn't want the US Military coming after me!
  12. Who would buy a watch like this (the gen I mean) from a guy with a feedback of 2, and such bad photos and almost no written description??
  13. Funny thing is, now I'm not so sure about the number being upside down! Hope I didn't cause trouble. Can someone confirm?
  14. What absolutely kills me is the number of people who buy fake stuff on eBay, receive it, don't check it out, are perfectly pleased with it, and then leave the seller positive feedback. My wife bought a purse on eBay and asked me if I thought it was legit. I looked at the price which was a decent deal, but nothing unbelievable. Then I checked the seller's feedback which was sizable and just about perfect with not a single accusation of a fake. So I told her to buy it. When we received it, it looked pretty good, but I got the serial number and called the Coach outlet. They told me it was a fake before I even finished reading it to them. I filed a claim with eBay, but I had to ship the stupid thing back to the seller (at my own cost) before I got my money back. I'm sure that purse was sold to someone else! I also sent messages to every other buyer who bought purses from him, many of who replied back saying they got their purses checked to find they were fakes as well. But here's what really kills me. If you go look at that seller's feedback (yes he's still an eBay member, and he's still selling purses), my negative feedback is the only one that calls him out as selling fake purses!!! So I guess the lesson is that if the fake is close enough, stupid people will be happy paying full price for it regardless...
  15. I just sent the buyer this message: "The auction for the Omega bracelet you recently purchased was posted up on a watch forum as being suspected as a fake. I took a look at it and I am almost positive it is a bracelet from a replica watch. The serial numbers at the end of the bracelet (951) are upside down. You may want to take the bracelet to an Omega authorized dealer and have it checked to be sure. The way the seller describes that he doesn't have any knowledge of the bracelet is also very suspicious. Just wanted you to know because I have been scammed on eBay in the past and if you do find out it's fake, there's still time for you to get your money back through eBay claim process. If you're sure it's real or don't care if it's fake, then I apologize for bothering you. Best of luck!"
  16. I'm not an expert, but I'm almost positive that the omega is a rep. The serials at the ends of the bracelet are upside down. Also, just by the way the dude describes it ("couldn't tell you much information", "couldn't tell you the history", etc) tells me he's just trying to cover his @$$ if he gets caught. He knows it's a rep and he just ripped some poor guy out of a lot of money. I hope someone reported him...
  17. Ah, ok. Bummer. I've heard so many good things. Thanks!
