  1. Welcome aboard, and halo back at you
  2. I think the evidence was pretty clear in the recent "RWI bans J&A" issue. Also, one only has to follow the trends of the newly released watches to get an idea of what is going on. Some watches become available to Cartel dealers only, and are for the most part quite expensive. Other watches like the Oris Carlos Costas for example, that are available to all dealers, are reasonably priced in comparison. Continue to be blind if you like, J&A will gladly be there to take your money.
  3. Sure some watches have come down in price, the Skyland for example. Lets not forget that Josh originally listed it at almost $300, now I see it being offered at $167 in the group buy. Believe me, whoever is supplying it at that price is still making money. Also, if there hadn't been competition between two different factories for the Skyland, would it have been priced at less than $300? I think not. To compare this to any other business is not right. In what other business does the customer (us) do and pay for virtually all the marketing? The issue is not whether the cartel chooses to raise their prices, its whether they force others to follow in their footsteps. I see this hobby going more underground than it already is. There are dealers out there that will supply the same watches at far reduced prices than what any of our "trusted dealers" will sell them for, and there are a large group of members that have started using their services. No fancy websites, no dealer listings, just reasonable prices. As a community, we hold the power. We can as a group decide what is fair and what is not. But, unfortunately there is a large group that feels that whatever the cartel wants to charge is their right, and they will pay it.
  4. There are a couple of threads about this. Site is down, although Paul seems to be updating it still. Seems he added some watches today. http://www.pam111.com/products_new.php?osC...db9ae776f7e9a2b
  5. Thats probably a little closer to the truth Pho, same end result though
  6. Thats what I figure as well. These guys always say they bought a gen and completely took it apart. Then why don't they rep the pieces exactly to the Gen? Both the Skyland and the CA have press fit bezels, and the fastening screws do nothing. They will not accommodate a gen bezel. It would be nice if they could do the whole thing properly.
  7. Not speculating on anything more than which watch is the one Josh had been talking about Dave. In PMs to me he indicated that he had purchased a gen for this project and that it was commissioned by him and Andrew. As he now has two Skylands on his site, I am simply wondering which was his project? As everybody assumes it was the V1 (which makes sense), then why does Silix have it? We know that "Josh commissioned" watches rarely are available to other dealers, at least not for some time. Logically it would make more sense that the V2 is Josh's project watch, as it is still only available through cartel dealers, as far as I know. No slight to Josh or anyone else Dave, just curiosity on my part
  8. Don't hold your breath. The Chinese seem to have a hard on for larger sized watches these days, and I don't thing the smallish Colt would be high on their list of priorities, nor do I think it would sell that well.
  9. Specs are up, and as suspected this is simply a PVD's V1.
  10. Beautiful straps! I gotta get a croc strap one of these days,
  11. Blue! The blue breit avenger dial is quite unique, and since you already have black and grey. You could go white, but I find white dials make a watch look even bigger than it is. Not necessary with the SA.
  12. Great gesture, and an adorable watch. I'd love to find something like that for my son!
  13. If it has a genuine ETA, its overpriced. If it doesn't its waaaay overpriced. You never know what you are going to get. Seriously, ask Ruby to quote it, or look at Silix.
  14. From what I hear, the black/white version is impossible to find. All other versions are still available. As far as dealers for Canada, it really doesn't matter. Customs problems are non existent, so look for a reliable dealer with the best price. I'd suggest Ruby for that model.
  15. Thats more like it Dani, but I'm not sure if yours is the chocolate brown or the honey brown. Looks great though!
  16. Like the brown, but I'd have to say I'd much prefer a gen Breit brown calf strap. You would never see a gen owner going with a non breit strap. NEVER! This watch is so perfect and the aftermarket strap just gives it away IMO.
  17. Seem you have to cange your bookmark from www.repgeek.com to http://www.repgeek.com/index.php
  18. Thanks PG4TR, worked for me!
  19. I'll never get tired of looking at that beauty. Thanks for posting!
  20. The gen has single sided AR (inside) and gives off a purple hue. As for whether it makes a difference, its hard to tell. It seemed like the blue hands and dial detail were easier to see, but that may have been due to the perfect AD lighting.
  21. The third pic looks the most accurate. I've been able to locate a tang buckle in that color, but nothing for deployant.
  22. Awesome! What size is your wrist Italiano?
  23. Sure did! Actually was more impressed with the APs than the Hublots. Also, it made me realize how far behind Rolex is getting. Nice to see all the subs and daytona's, but there is nothing new or imaginative. Here's my 192 btw, couldn't wait to get home and throw it on
  24. You are correct my friend. Beautiful store, never been there before, and it was my first chance to view brands like VC and Panerai up close. Also went to La Swiss down the street and got my first look at the blue skyland. Looked really impressive on the blue diver strap!
  25. What you will do is adjust one of the two arms next to the balance wheel. The one you will move has two dots on it, DO NOT touch the other one. Use a small screwdriver to push this arm AWAY FROM the other one. This will speed it up. Move it a tiny bit, then check it for an hour. Make sure you keep track of the hourly +or
