White dialed GMTs AFAIK couldn't be confirmed authentic until now. There is the tale of the Pan-Am ones, but until now no proof appeared. Nevertheless it's a nice looking one - for me 100% rep - which I wouldn't let pass if the price is reasonable. Dee

It's less the value of the shoes as how you wear the combination. We were 4 wearing gens - 2 Rolex and 2 Panerai - 2 of us were wearing Nike free, so orthopeadic value on the one hand and stylish and colourful on the other hand without screaming to be current trend. Dee

Recently I had a conversation with other collectors regarding holidays and the watches you see in the club areas. A lot were said to be fakes, but for some people it's harder to tell. "Look at their shoes" was quite a good hint given to judge the autenticity of worn watches Dee

The spiderwebbing was due to a small batch of dials which were produced with a wrong mixture of laquer. Same as for the cream dial Ex II which also was only a small batch of dials (originally )... Dee

To split up the shipping fees with my SD order I decided to take a Milgauss with simple DG2813 with it. From first communication and payment on March 4th to delivery there were passing 15 days even with UK transshipment and repacking. Unfortunately there were no QC pics shipped and also when asking for tracking this was promised but I never recieved any tracking code. The watches arrived well packaged and the first inspection showed flawless optics on the Milgauss. To comapre accuracy with the gen I took the following measurements: ~ Width (10 o'clock to 4 o'clock): 41.22mm ~ Width w/o crown: 39.99mm ~ Width including crown: 43.27mm ~ Length: 48.98mm ~ Bezel width: 39.22mm ~ Crystal/Dial width: 32.21mm ~ Crown width: 6.89mm ~ Thickness: 14.00mm ~ Bracelet link thickness: 3.21mm to 2.82mm at the clasp ~ Bracelet width: 20mm to 15.72mm at the clasp ~ Weight on bracelet w/ all links: 153,5 grams From the appearance the clear crystal / black dial version is a spot on copy which partly comes from the absence of the annoying etched coronet other reps have in the crystal. Taking a magnifying glass for closer inspection shows a nice smooth dial with correct printing and well positioned markers. Just the lume in the markers is not applied with precision, so that it's uneven or partly covering marker edges. The rehaut engraving looks nice and is quite well positioned and spaced. It's just 1/4 minute off which will only be spotted with magnification. Opening the caseback shows that even in this lower pricerange the correct double caseback which in the gen helps shielding magnetic fields is present. The interior is clean and doesn't call for an immediate cleaning service. As usual screws in the bracelet are not fixed well so tightening is needed on some of them. The cutouts of the SEL endlinks are not very well done, but this is a usual finding even in higher priceranges. The timeholding was ok for the simple movement - without any timing efforts -12.5 seconds/day. Dee

And don't rely on pressure information given - I recieved a "TD personally pressure tested" SD with broken tube, so not waterproof! Dee

I think this is exactly NOT the way how you find them. You'll just get a lot of threads with questions where to find them, stating that XYZ is not a TD, ... And the naming of the section isn't easy to associate with being for TDs! Dee

Getting screwed and finding out when in good mood is one thing, finding it out when in financial troubles is completely different. Invite him for some beers and show him your nice reps. Have an evening full of watchtalk and laughter. This might push up his mood! Dee

"Cartier is worth nothing without the sales papers" is the word in gen world... Furthermore I never saw a red Cartier one, so if, then go for the white. Dee

I would go the other way and restore the gen case. It might not be cheap, but as long as you conserve most of the gen engravings it's worth it! There are goor casemakers around which can restore cold cases - i'll have a gen golden Rolex pocket watch fixed there for an exhibition. Dee

I wouldn't phone personally... In my experiences an official "lost parcel tracing" can get stuck things out of being forgotten. If they keep it for any other reason than it may just have slipped behind something it may not a good idea to show that you are awaiting it. Dee
