  1. http://bethge-soehne.biz/en They are restoring dials as well as producing dials from a one off to small series. Every kind even hardcore guilloche or skeletton... They don't mention the dial business on their homepage but just drop a message, they do it! Dee
  2. There are different Milsubs available from some of the large sellers. But the grade of accuracy varies a lot Dee
  3. The case engravings look excellent but as already commented the caseback ones are not as good. I also find the crown reaching too high up, at least it looks like this in the picture. Lugholes are fine for me. So I would vote for franken with gen case... Dee
  4. A little correction on the DW position and the watch is perfect! Dee
  5. Great work! This would definitely also be a watch for me as I had 6610, 14270, 114270 and still have a 1016... Dee
  6. And for a gen it was a bargain to buy - with papers - as most other buyers had doubt on the genuineity... But Rolex rejected any service on it because they had to replace just everything, they stated... Cost me €700.- to get it back to shop condition Dee
  7. Sure it's gen? I don't like the positioning of "Cosmograph". Also the 6 and 9 areas lack the structure. Dee
  8. Seems we are nearly cousins Freaka and DeeKa Take some time to read and in doubt ask before buying! Dee
  9. You wouldn't want to see the rest of this excellent dress-watch if you think your tool-watch is kind of dirty... Dee
  10. I didn't try these but I bought one for my gen Tudor 94010 in case I might loose the bezel or insert... Dee
  11. If it will fit your 1680, this one is the better value: click ok, it's the blue one, buy an additional insert or take the complete set. The quality is good and delivery fast, plus it fits better in your budget Dee
  12. Not only a classic design and a good choice (my father co-estabward interest group in Germany back many years... and we had "some" Isabellas) also a durable one. Once restored to a good level and you can enjoy it for years and years! Mine is more on the sportive side. A one-off based on a very rare base - No.003 of only 4 Bizzarrini P538. And it is the Bizzarrini Manta build by Italdesign. Currently owned by a private collector in the states, but I'll kill him or the car Dee
  13. I think either you were wrong with the reference or you got a Franken. The ref. 160xx were introduced in 1977 with the new movement 3035 so all 5-digit DJs have quickset - that was the new selling point! 4-digit DJs had the 1575 movement, but not the 1570 which ewas used in Subs, Ex1 etc. 16030 has a machine turned steel bezel while our bezel is the fluted one from the 1601/1601x models... Dee
  14. Since 2001 they used the crown. Original crystals have this type, factory replacements have a lying S within the crown base. And a lot of people have a hard time to find their crown, so the reps where you can see them on the qc pictures have to get a new crystal Dee
  15. All reps I've seen had really bad crowns @6, so I would in any case prefer no crown. This is a nice picture I made from a gen Ex1-2002 crown with a microscope. Dee
  16. Quite simple, you need to know someone you trust in the UK. If you don't know someone you can't do it... Dee
  17. The best stuff "Feinkost Lidl" has to offer
  18. Well, if the lume is crumbling off or the dial has been washed a relume w/o luminous would give the original look... Dee

    Project X Sub

Yepp, you can exchange for any other Nato strap or mount anordinary bracelet... For real diving I just wear my wathces on Nato as I nearly lost my gen SD when the clasp broke! Dee
  20. If you buy a golden Rolex, you don't pay for the gold, you pay for the fame! I had a 1967 YG DD which I had restored through my watchmaker and took a day off to look over his shoulder during work. It was a great day and a stunning result. Well, the "good old times"... Dee
  21. Sorry, but my doc allowed me only 4 Viagra a day, so I can't take all on my own Dee
