  1. By the way, is there anyone here in Aus that can help me? I would also like to get it lumed. Any recommendations?
  2. Thanks for the offer but I'm in Australia. I had an offer from another member to send it to Greece and get it fixed and lumed for a reasonable price but it might be better to just keep it in oz and eat the costs. So I guess it's not advisable for me to try to do this on my own?
  3. Thanks for that. Sounds a bit risky though...lol. Maybe I am better off taking it in and getting it done. I like the battery replacement story..."oh and by the way, can you glue that hour marker back on while your at it?" Good one.
  4. Hi all, I know this is probably not the best place to post this but I have already posted in the repairs section with limited responses. So hopefully someone here can help me out. I got this watch for x-mas and I love it! Problem is that the 11 o'clock marker has come off. I took it to a watchsmith and he quoted me $70 to open the watch and stick the marker back on. Is there any way I can do this myself? I tried opening the caseback but I have no idea how it opens. I took off the screws but that didn't help. I don't know much about opening watches but I hope this might be easy enough for me to do and save the $70. Any help would be great.

  6. I hear you, although that would only come into play if the buyer specifically detailed the fact that he knowingly bought contraband with his paypal account which would see his account suspended as well. Any way you look at it, it's definately not the way to go if there are any issues with a transaction, especially if the seller is willing to resolve it. And especially transactions involving rep watches. But people are people, and contraband or not, there is no reasoning with those that are intent on enturbulating others.
  7. As soon as a dispute is filed the money connected to the transaction is "frozen" until the dispute is resolved either way. Your account shouldn't be frozen, just the funds for the transaction in question. As for the options of responding, you should deny it since he hasn't returned the item yet. When you do you will be given an opportunity to give the reason why and to also write a message. The buyer must have proof of return for him to get his money back so he will probably send it registered although you'd be surprised how many people don't. I have an ebay store and over the years have had to deal with people that file disputes at the drop of a hat. The thing to remember is that you are also protected by paypal as a seller. The system is still more in favor of the buyer but like I said, he MUST return the item and he MUST have proof of this for them to release the money back to him. Hope that helps mate. Good luck with it.
  8. Hopefully you get what you ordered. But in the future, the trusted dealers on this site are the way to go. They are trusted dealers for a reson...they have been around for years and can definately be trusted. As much as anyone in this industry can be trusted anyway.
  9. Maybe he should train someone up and hire him. I am very interested in his services as but he seems to be too busy!
  10. That's an awesome poem.
  11. Do not click any links in the email, if there are any. Just log in to your account as you would normally and if this is genuine you will see a notification in your paypal account. I have an ebay store and I got the same notification about a year ago. When there is a lot of money going in and out of an account (especially in) they want to verify the details of the account holder. Their reason for these security checks are that a lot of money has been laundered through paypal in the past, another reason might be that this is just another authoritarian paypal policy. Either way, DO NOT click on any links in the actual email you received. Just log in to your account and take it from there.
  12. Panatime sells nice straps for a decent price and is a TD here.
  13. Nice track! Love the fiddle. Were the vocals part of the samples provided or was that you?
  14. Yeah, that's what I figured too. It's probably not worth the headache of sending it to someone only to find out that a current dial won't fit. Thanks anyway.
  15. Just bought a fiddy from a member here. The watch does not have the sandwich dial as it should for a fiddy. It's got a normal dial. From what I've seen of the fiddy it should have a sandwich dial. Also the caseback is solid and says divers watch on the back so I guess that's totally wrong too. Otherwise the watch keeps good time and I am happy with it for the money I paid. Is there anyone out there that can change the dial to the correct one and also change the caseback? And any idea how much that would cost?

  17. It's also luck of the draw. I bought a Hublot that loses 2 minutes a day! On the other hand one of my Pams gains only about 10 seconds a day. But TD's will usually send timegrapher results with the QC pics, and although they are not always accurate, you get a pretty good idea of what to expect.
  18. Wow! That is amazing. I have an iphone 4 too but could never manage to take pics like that. Is that the iphone 4s?
  19. You can pick up a speedmaster chrono for under 5k...so no need to save.
