  1. I let my friend compared my v3 to his gen Diver. When I asked what differences he noticed, he said the lume (standard rep) was better than his gen. I think it lume is decent, but definitely not superlume like my Pam's. The other things he noticed where the weight, the sweep, and the blue AR on the cyclops. As for the sweep and the AR, he keep moving to different lighting and said he was not sure if it was his imagination or lighting until I told him it was a Rep.
  2. Looks like we both like to take our pictures late at night. Great looking watch, the blue dial is my favorite.
  3. Welcome. This forum is a great place to help speed you along the learning curve and will hopefully help you avoid a lot of newbie mistakes.
  4. I saw a post recently that showed some great custom straps with skulls carved in to the leather strap keeper. I have been trying to find that post again but I can't locate it. Anyone know the post I am referring too?
  5. The only time I have to return a watch, it took 3 1/2 months to receive my replacement. If there is a next time I would suggest using a shipping method with tracking such as registered mail.
  6. I just measured my quartz rep and it was 41mm the same as my gen. I also weighted both and there was only a 19 gram difference between the gen and the rep. The gen is on a deployant which I am sure adds some weight. I think the contrast of the panda dial really accents the incorrect sub-dial spacing. A big plus for your panda though is the numbers. The "4" is arched and all the numbers appear more rounded like the gen and not flat like the typical 3714 rep. The markings on your top sub-dial also appear more accurate then on the quartz rep I have!! Hopefully the other IWC reps will benefit from the new shaped numbers on your watch. Do mind sharing which dealer you ordered the watch from?
  7. I like the Seiko Zulu fat springbars. You can get them on ebay. I usually get mine from seller timepiecerepublic.
  8. Yes, you should expect a wait. Chinese holiday runs until the 8th.
  9. My new 3717 arrived this week and I immediately mounted her on my Kutio Strap. Kutio was kind enough to sell me this strap from his own personal collection and I have been eagerly awaiting my 3717 so I could put the two together. I think the strap is a perfect match with this watch. Give me your thoughts.
  10. The texture on the gen and rep subdials is very subtle. Remember we are looking at macro photos most of the time on these forums, In real life you can not really see the circular "engraving" on the subdials. It just looks like a slightly different finish and provides nice contrast to the dial. Look at one in person again and I think you will most likely agree.
  11. Not sure about the exact specs but externally it looks the same. I don't think you could simply do a dial swap as the subdial spacing looks completely different than the a7750. The secs@6 ticks and the chrono does work. Avensis are you speaking from experience? Are you certain about milling being necessary? I haven't actually opened the watch to check out the inside of the case. I just figured that there must be a spacer in there to fit the quartz movement. I didn't think the makers would spend the money to make a completely different case just to offer a low priced quartz version, but I guess it is completely possible. Curious if you have actually taken a stab at the conversion?
  12. Agreed. If the top sub-dial were okay, I probably wouldn't mind the sub-dial spacing so much.
  13. Hey Old School, Here are some of my photos (sorry about my bad photography skills). Please note that the strap is crap as usual. The black strap on the 3714-01 is a Bob Strap. As you can see the sub-dial spacing is a bit to close to the center of the dial and the markings on the sub-dial do not match the gen. Notice the dial says "Quartz" Looks like the same case set used on the more expensive a7750 models. QC Pic from Trevor Here are a couple of the photos Trevor sent me when I was trying to decide on which color to go with. As you can see the dealer was Trevor. Not use if he has this in Panda, but worth asking. Hope this helps you make a decision.
  14. I actually have a quartz 3714 that I picked up with my first rep purchase. I think it is actually a fairly decent rep. Not great, but decent. The case appears to be the same case used on the a7750 models. The case would probably be a good starting point for a franken project. The biggest differences are: 1. It says "Quartz" instead of automatic on the dial, 2. The sub-dial spacing is off. The sub-dials are a little closer to the center. 3. (This is the one that bothers me the most) The markings on the sub-dials are too bold. On the top sub-dial it has bold hack marks around the entire sub-dial which should be sutle. 4. Quartz tick instead of auto sweep and the way the quartz chrono resets. If you would like to see actual photos of the watch let me know. I also have the original qc pics for three different model, RG black dial, SS white dial with blued hands and numbers, and SS white dial with RG hands and numbers. Btw the quartz model is fairly cheap.
  15. I currently have a custom deployant strap inbound from Peter Watch Acc. Hoping it will arrive this week as it was shipped about two weeks ago. Peter is very helpful and easy to deal with. Do a search on one of thengen forums for peterwatchacc.
  16. Beautiful 253! I think LegendKiller is right, if you can wear a 44MM Pam, you should be able the wear to AP Diver. I responded to a similar post over on RG a couple of months ago with a few photos, but could not find the post. If you would like, I could post the side-by-side photos and wrist shots of my Pam 005 and AP Diver so you could see how they compare in size. Measured the from the inside of the buckle to the first strap hole on my AP and is was right at 18cm if that helps.
  17. Trevor's website is http://v.yupoo.com/photos/trevorwatch/collections/
  18. OP, I have read through this entire post and noticed that no one here has mentioned the Moderators. Should your not be able to work things out with your Trusted Dealer, your next step should be to contact a moderator on one of the forums where the TD is an approved dealer. The Mods can help you in dealing with the TD to reach an amicable resolution. My guess is that your TD will take care of you, but if they don't contact a Mod. Paypal disputes should be avoided at all costs because it makes things more difficult for the TD which in turn makes things more difficult for all of us forum members who might want to use that TD.
