  1. I remember Trevor post awhile ago that he was having trouble receiving emails from certain domains. Sorry, can't remember which. Set up a yahoo email and try again. I usually get a response from him within 24 hours using my yahoo account.
  2. Donerix is a strap maker. He is actually having a sale currently. Here is the link: Donerix-Summer-Strap-Sale---NOW As for your second question, "AR" stands for "anti-reflective" coating. As the name implies, it reduces light reflecting off a crystal.
  3. I would highly recommend Vac Lume. His work is top notch and he is in the CONUS. As an added bonus, he is a true pleasure to deal with.
  4. Sounds like you might have found a rep friendly smith if he knows where to order a modified a7750 for a ROO. I know what you mean about all the different models. The main problem I have with the ROO's is the cost to play. They are on the more expensive side, then add a service, AR, relume, and high quality strap and you easily close to $1500 if not more. Panda, Navy, Don Ramon, RGRC, and Chronopassion all look great to me.
  5. Unless the watchmaker you spoke to has a rep movement to install I can not see how he plans to replace the movement and keep the secs@12. The movement was improved by adding an extra jewel to help reduce the friction. Most reports are that the fix has for the most parts resolved the issues with the older movements. Here is one thread that discussed when the movement was updated. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=146262
  6. Nevermind, After looking back at your photo, your pusher are much lighter in color. Getting replacement from a TD looks like it is going to be your best option.
  7. That is pretty incredible that it has made it 3 years if that was one of the models before they added the extra jewel. Do you wear it regularly or is more of a box queen? Well I just looked through 25 pages of quartz AP's and I found 2 that appear to have blue pushers and crown's, but it is kind of hard to tell from the photos http://v.yupoo.com/photos/swisswatch/168890318/ & http://v.yupoo.com/photos/swisswatch/168890347/
  8. I can share one other suggestion that I made to another member (might be on one of the other forums). I would think that the rubber piece from one of the cheap quartz ROO's might fit, but don't hold me to that as I have not tried it personally. The problem that you face with this suggestion is that you have a Navy. It might be difficult to find a quartz model with blue rubber on the crown and if you do the blue might not match the pushers.
  9. Looks like it's time to scrap the watch. Better send it to me to dispose of properly. You might want to try Ryan if Josh can not get it. From what I hear, he is to go to guy for AP parts.
  10. I am curious where you sourced yours? I got all mine from Trevor.
  11. Interesting....My experience has been quite the opposite and I think the rep clasps are great, at least the 4 I have.I am wondering if you got one from a different maker or perhaps from a bad batch. I do find that the finish on the Gen clasp is cleaner and more polished, but it only really noticeable under a loupe. Luckily mine have no wobble and lock securely. Rek- as for whether you should take the gamble, I think that you are the only one that can really answer that question. If you buy the watch, you know that you are buying a watch that will most likely fail at some point. How will you feel when it fails? If it fails within the first year, what does TS's guarantee cover? I am guessing that you will still have to deal with the expense and hassle of sending the watch back to TS and then waiting several months for repair. If it dies after 1 year, will you be comfortable with just accepting the loss? Will you want to try to sell it at a loss for part? Or would you be happy to paying to have it serviced or maybe trying to build a Franken out of it?These are questions that only you can answer.
  12. Not sure if that comment is directed at my photo. If it is could you please elaborate?
  13. Interesting...I have not come across that particular clasp yet. The older 3714's came with a Tang buckle, but the newer one's come like this:
  14. Why do you says this markiemark? The clasp is actually correct for the watch.
  15. The issues you mentioned were mainly with the 292K, the newest 292N and 292J don't seem to suffer the same issues. I suggest you act fast as these models are being discontinued and I have already read about some members having a difficult time locating a TD with remaining stock.
  16. Holy Smokes Batman, great find!! Can we ask where you found that?
  17. I think the build quality is excellent. At the special price, I should have grabbed two so I would have a back up when my wife ends up destroying the first on in Toro-Delivers-the-Specials!-Pam-292j,-Cartier-Santos,-and-Ballon-Bleu-(Pic-Heavy) http://www.rwgforum.net/index.php?/topic/160350-Toro-Delivers-the-Specials!-Pam-292j,-Cartier-Santos,-and-Ballon-Bleu-(Pic-Heavy)a couple of years. She can be fairly rough on her watches.
  18. I recently pick up a 42mm Ballon for my wife from Toro. What questions do you have?
  19. This is a great topic. I have often wondered the same myself. I assumed the rep parts probably originated from the same factory.
  20. If those are SEL's from a 3717 bracelet, fat springbars will fit without modding the SEL. The groove in the SEL is too narrow to accommodate fat springbars. I have a 3717 that has the same issue with both endlinks flipping up. Mine was because of poorly misdrllled springbar holes.
  21. If you aren't sure how to do it and don't have the correct tools, I would suggest you have someone do it for you. Should be fairly quick and cheap. (Tool comment is an assumption on my part, please excuse me if I'm wrong).
  22. Noob discounted this watch back in Dec. Toro had a sale to clear out the remaining inventory. Unless one of the TD's happens to have an extra one laying around, I think your best bet is to keep an eye on the M2M sales or try a WTB post. It's a great watch btw, I really enjoy mine.
  23. @OP - looks like the watch has some great Lum. How about a lum shot?
  24. Please post your opinion when you get it as I am still undecided if I want to change the crown on my Toro special.
