Scammer alert: Beware of an recalcitrant scammer
Mike on a bike replied to Legend's topic in Name & Shame
Guys I could pull threads out on this by me going back far ....... no gift except to your friends and then I just eat the free most of the time anyway I just do not use gift, in some countries you can't FYI. So be careful, think about it Reppin went bad on us I have known him as a stand up member for many years . Now for the flip side and it has happened, guy gets watch you are selling files PP gets watch and money........... Now you have to ask yourself do you really need to sell the watch to that guy or wait for another you are more comfortable with. This all being said there is always a chance of things going wrong , it is a chance we take in this game. -

This is not RWI and you can post QC pics here but " (after much reading around , knowing which is the best version of a particular model, what to look for, etc)" to quote jonathanw is best practice.

New arrival - Breitling Avenger blackbird from watchfinder
Mike on a bike replied to tframo's topic in The Breitling Area
I have had plenty of A2836s that ran very well, don't get hung up on Swiss ETAs of questionable lineage w/ higher cost. -
A few answers per-say: It is sad to lose a member in this way (a guy you know for years) but if I left out how sad I am that Sbybbuser got screwed I guess I just figured you guys know me well enough to take that as a given. As far as all private deals being put up , hmmm how do you enforce that. Do we go around banning any two members if we catch wind of a watches being sold or traded privately? I think not it is draconian to say the least, please read my signature below that about sums up my position. As to the ban yes I will have it put through. I guess I was hoping Reppin would come to his senses and Sbybbuser would get his money back , I am a hopeful guy. There is almost no way to defend ourselves against a long time member with a good reputation going bad , this is a risk we all take. PS no escrow accts. the board can not be responsible for loss mitigation. Although I believe a few of you do this for a living and could construct something workable you are well aware of legal liability of the house (let us call it) holding the money, we can not go there.
-
Unfortunately I have tried repeated attempts to contact Reppin through various channels to straighten this out but the facts are pretty much as reported above. PS action will be taken shortly guys , in closing it is sad to lose a known long time member in this manner.

Well guys as the title reads yes we are going to buy more watches! No shit!!!! So keep your eyes open there are some great deals out there (Jomashop has some real crack-en ones) but I found this in my email this morn at a great price. Now I have been looking at this watch for a couple of weeks searching the web to get a better price w/ no luck, Ball is not one of those brands you see with a $3500 suggested retail and then $1200 at grey market shops. Yes MOAB is a conservative in his politics and his watches nothing big or flashy for me, LOL.

Guys if problem still happening to you clear your cache.

I remember reading way back ( years ago) about swan neck regulators on some rep movements and they did crap in regard to regulating the movement, more for show. Does this apply to the P3000 I do not know.
